From the third-floor balcony railing, Kim Boudreaux looked over the majestic gardens of the mansion her soon-to-be-in-laws had rented for the wedding and reception. Her white, off-the-shoulder wedding dress hugged her athletic body drawing attention to her tight, muscular ass, the product of years of pole vaulting in high school, college, and now, preparing for the Olympics.

But pole vaulting was not a well-paying occupation. Although her parents made a decent living, with five children money had always been an issue. Scholarships and part-time jobs were necessary for the children if they wanted to go to college. But being pre-med and attempting to qualify for the Olympics left little time for an actual job.

As Mitch Logan approached his future daughter-in-law, he noticed the pensive look on her face as she stared into the garden while the early evening shadows lengthened and began to fade. Not for the first time the thought occurred to Mitch how lucky his son was. Kim was a smoke-show.

Mitch put his hands on Kim's bare shoulders and gently squeezed as he rubbed his hands across her shoulders. Kim sighed softly at his touch.

"Having second thoughts?"

Kim shook her head. "No. I love Cam with all of my heart and soul. I'm going to be a great wife to him. You'll have beautiful grandchildren."

Mitch chuckled at the thought. "I'm too young to be a grandfather. Can you imagine me as 'Gramps'?" Mitch was tall and fit, the product of both good genes and a good workout regimen. His dark hair was only now beginning to gray at the temples. Cam had received his height, his square jaw, and his chiseled cheekbones from his father. From his mother Sugar, a former Miss Texas, he had received his blonde hair and gray eyes.

"Our history will always be lurking in the background," Mitch commented.

Kim nodded as Mitch continued to gently rub her shoulders. "Out of every guy I could have dated, I had to date your son. How fucked up is that?"

"The odds are more probable than you might think. You're the hottest girl on campus, and Cam is a handsome guy plus, he's at the top of his class in law school. It's not odd that the two of you would gravitate towards each other." Mitch stopped rubbing Kim's shoulders as he moved to stand beside her at the balcony railing. His right hand gripped the railing next to Kim's left hand as their little fingers intertwined, unnoticed by Kim's attendants in the room.

"Kim, this doesn't have to be the end of us. After you settle into married life, we can still spend a little time together. Our arrangement doesn't have to end."

"You'd cuck your own son? Remember how freaked out we were when he thought he was introducing us? I thought you were going to have a stroke in the middle of Morton's."

Mitch chuckled at the memory. "That was a day to remember. Having to pretend I didn't know you when what I wanted to do was bend you over the table and fuck you in front of the whole restaurant."

Kim laughed softly at the thought. "I don't think there would've been a second date with Cam if you did."

Mitch and Kim stood quietly, pinkies interlocked as they stared into the garden, recollecting their shared history.

"I didn't hear a no," Mitch said.

"I didn't give a no," Kim replied softly. "But not soon. And maybe not ever. I need to spend time with Cameron. I need time to be his wife. I. Love. Your. Son."

"But you're not ruling it out," Mitch stated.

"Never say never. Neither one of us knows what the future holds, but that's what I'm concentrating on. I'm not looking at the past," Kim said as tears sprang to her eyes.

Mitch pulled her into a one-armed hug as he stood next to her. "It was the right decision."

"I know. And I am glad you were there for me. God, can you imagine bringing a baby into this situation?"

From the second-floor balcony below, Cameron Logan tightly gripped the railing as Kyle Kitson, his best man, looked at him in shock at the overheard conversation.

"I'll pull the car around front."

Cam nodded; his teeth gritted in anger. "Thanks. I'll be having a quick word with my mother and Kim's parents on the way out."

Kyle gave Cam a grim, predatory smile. There was a shit storm heading someone's way.
