----- Chapter 2
Arriving at the party and stepping out of our vehicle, a gentleman in a "short of a full tux" uniform offered to take my keys.
"May I park it for you sir?" the valet man asked.
"Ah...yes please" searching for a tip and handing him what I thought was a $20 but ending up being a $50 as I checked my bills over to confirm what I had given him. Not much I can do once I have given him the money. I shrugged my shoulders and continued around the back side of the vehicle. As I laid my eyes on my wife, I took in the moment to see how stunning and jaw dropping she looked. A shear red sun dress that made her eyes pop with color. "You look amazingly beautiful dear!" I spoke
Nodding her head "Thank you love!"
We walked inside to be greeted by the door man as we passed. A receptionist had noticed Jill walking in the door with me at her side..."Good evening Mr. and Mrs....?"
"Wellings, I'm Jill and this is Jason, my husband." She said quickly.
"Ah yes, Tim Norsemen is waiting for you Mrs. Wellings" She said "You're both accounted for, and you room will be taken care of. Bags are still in the vehicle?"
"Yes ma'am" I stated.
"Fingerprint please?" as the receptionist brought up a pad to the top of the counter.
Jill first scanned her fingerprint and then I followed. "This is for......?" I asked.
"Room access sir. Only a fingerprint will unlock the door and with unique identification it is of high security." the receptionist stated.
"Excellent!" I quickly stated from shock as hotel don't typically have the better end of security. That is typically left to government or higher end facilities. Is this a higher end hotel? hmmm...a tug at my hand and a pull of my arm, my wife hurried me along and stopped to talk to Tim.
"Tim, this is my husband, Jason! Dear, this is Tim. He has been helping me to jump start my business and has seen a huge jump in productivity from the company that he would potentially like to start a joint venture. This could potentially mean more business and a much bigger income." she said with excitement.
"Thats great baby! Hope the endeavors continue." Shaking Tims hand and a gentle bow of my head to show gratitude in helping my wife's business get off the ground as quick as it did. Listen babe, I'm going to walk around a bit maybe see what I can get myself into here. I will catch up in a bit. Love you!!!" I spoke.
"Okay baby. meet up in about an hour! At the bar?" she asked.
"Thats fine." I stated.
I walked over to the bar and had noticed a woman at the end of it as I walked to the opposite side. I quickly glancing around and to my surprise and ex-girlfriend was sitting there. She was kind of rude the last time my wife and I ran into her. She potentially tried to get Jill, and I divorced. That much was true when Shara told me she was a drama queen. Shara and I lasted only a year in our relationship when I first joined the military. My first deployment she was so scared that I wasn't coming back that she preemptively packed her bags and took everything. She didn't even say goodbye or contact me.
I asked the bartender for a drink in which I told him to charge it to room 715 under Jason Wellings. Shara, at the end of the bar spit out her drink choking on it. I gave a slight grin and nodded at her.
"OMG, IS THAT REALLY YOU! YOUR ALIVE?!" she stated with mere confusion. "I heard your aircraft blew up on the new last week! I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!
"No, I'm well alive...sad part is the crash was last year. They must have just released it to the media." I said trying to ignore her as most others heads nearby turned to look at me.
"They've shown everyone involved and your picture was up there.... your alive!" she ran up and hugged me.
"Easy, if Jill sees us like this.... it's not going to be a good night for either of us. We best go our separate ways." I said in a low voice.
"I'm sorry Jason. The past is the past and I want to apologize to you and Jill about my actions. I would really like to be friends and "co-mingle" with you and her. Not sexually by any means, but I recently lost my best friend and now I have no one to spend time with."
