My wife, Jan, is a RN for a prominent doctor down town. She has worked for him for the past fifteen years.
Jan is a very beautiful woman for her forty-four years. She is five-foot two inches tall, weights about hundred and thirty pounds, beautiful, with a thirty-six B bra size. She has thick blond hair and Robin egg blue eyes. I'm such a lucky man, because she loves me.
The other night she came home really late and was totally disheveled. "What's wrong, Jan? Are you all right?" I asked as she scurried around trying to decide where she should go.
"Nothing, honey. I'm just a little upset because I had some car trouble tonight," she answered me.
"Why didn't you call me, I would have come to your aid," I told her.
"I know, but for some reason I was not thinking straight. I'm sorry I'm so late; I'll get dinner done as soon as I change clothes."
She ran in the bedroom and I heard the shower on. I figured she felt dirty because of having problems with the car. It's an old one and probably time to trade it in for a new one.
At dinner she was quiet. She usually talks about her day but tonight she just made small talk. I knew she was upset so I didn't push it.
I did suggest that I should drive her to work the next day and take the car in for a tune up just so there's something wrong.
She agreed that might be a good idea and the subject was dropped.
The following morning, she was in the shower before I woke up. And when she came out she was dripping on the carpet as she dried her hair. She was so beautiful.
"Are you feeling a litter better this morning, honey?" I asked.
She smiled, "Yes, I am, sweetheart. I may even be able to drive myself to work. No use for you to get dressed and make the drive with me."
"But I want to," I countered, "I'll just take a quick jump in the shower and we'll be off. Okay?"
"That will work; I'll have some breakfast while you shower," she kissed me and walked out of the room.
I turned and watched as she walked away. Even after all of these years, she is still the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. I love her more than anyone in my life.
The drive to the doctor's office was only a twenty-five minute drive and the traffic was light for some reason. The morning was full of golden sunshine and it gave me lot of energy.
I thought of all the things I could get done today as Jan sat beside me lost in thoughts she hadn't shared with me.
"Are you doing okay, sweetheart?" I asked.
Snapping back to the present, she turned and smiled at me. "Yes, honey, just thinking of all the things I'm going to be doing today. A lot of patients scheduled; I'm going to be running all day long!" Then she sighed.
"So should I be there at four or six?"
Turning back to me she looked funny then said, "Hump, I'm not sure. I guess I'll call you just before I'm ready to leave. Will that work okay?"
"Not a problem baby, I'll be there minutes after you call," I smiled and blew her a kiss. I guess it's a goofy thing I've done since we were married. My heart swelled with my love for her.
As I parked the car, she leaned over and gave me a kiss. "I'll call you this evening as to when to pick me up; okay?"
"Sure that works honey have a great day!" I kissed her through my open window and she ran up the stairs to the office building. She looked so beautiful.
I figured while I was out and about that I'd do some errands before I went back home. I work out of our home, I have a travel agency and this time of year is somewhat busy.
But there were some supplies I needed and I wanted to toss some ideas around with an old buddy of mine, so I didn't go right back home. It felt nice being out of the house for a change. The air smelled so clean and I was feeling a bit cooped up lately.
I visited my buddy and we talked for about an hour my ideas and then decided to go have lunch together. It lasted longer than I thought and before I knew it, the time had gone from twelve-thirty to four βthirty.
I was afraid that I had missed Jan's call that instead of going home, I'd drop by the office and just wait until she was ready to go.
When I walked into the office, the receptionist was away from her station and the office was mortuary quiet.
If I listened closely enough I could hear the voices of the doctor talking to someone; it was a woman's voice. I was fairly sure it was Jan's voice. So I just sat in a cushioned chair and waited.
I didn't think it would be long before she was finished with her work. From my vantage point, I could see into one of the examining rooms and I saw Dr. Steve with a patient.
She had her feet up in the stirrups of the examining table and he was leaning over her. She was moaning a lot and I thought she must be in a lot of pain.
I turned away because I didn't want to intrude on her privacy. Then I heard Dr. Steve say softly, "Oh yeah, I got it now; you'll feel really good in just a few minutes. Just hold still and let me make it all better."
