Note: This is exactly the same story resubmitted after taking out a piece that an anonymous commenter felt was against lit guidelines. To clarify: At no point in the story is any act of violence depicted for any form of sexual gratification (as should have been very, very apparent in the text). The characters are seeking vengeance and justice through their actions, NOT sexual gratification. Nothing about the edited version of events should be taken as sexual as there is no mention of arousal prior or after by any character. It is confusing that someone's mind would jump to that. For future readers, please read below warning about story and enjoy :)

WARNING: This is different from my usual stuff. I decided to give the Loving Wives category a go and attempted to write a story that was at least a little unique. It's sometimes brutal, other times romantic. As always, I think stories should leave the reader feeling satisfied and happy, so that's what I intend to do. However, this one is a much darker journey than my other works.

It has sex, superheroes, fighting, good guys and bad guys, and a pretty gruesome scene towards the end. I've tried to keep it shorter than my other stories, I hope that cutting out bits hasn't affected the story in the telling.

For those who worry about such things, this is not a cuckold tale. It could have gone in a few categories but I chose Loving Wives because the story revolves around a married couple.

*There is a sexual assault that takes place, so if that affects or offends you in any way, please do not read on. It is not graphically depicted, only briefly described post-event.

Please, if any of the above worries, offends, affects you, do not read on. Otherwise, enjoy!

My Saturday began just like any other Saturday. I woke early with my wife of six years and we took a stroll together through the park near our home. We were both in our mid-twenties, fit, good-looking, and most importantly, happy. Andie and I were childhood sweethearts. We were each other's firsts and we'd be each other's lasts.

Even though I'd explored every inch of her body and knew it as well as my own, I was still mesmerised by it. She had what most people would call an 'athletic' figure. All toned, slim waist and hips, small and perky breasts. I was also probably what most would define as 'athletic'- but the male version. Tall, slim but with broad shoulders.

Andie flicked her long dark hair over her shoulder and looked up at me. "Matt, you're staring at me," she said shyly.

I chuckled and kissed her. "Not sorry, I can't help it."

She pulled my arm over her shoulder and we meandered easily along the path through the park. We passed a billboard at the far side of the park with five intimidating people standing proudly with their chests thrust out and hands on their hips.

Andie stopped and read the text beneath. "Oh my god!" she exclaimed. "The Invincibles are doing a parade through the city!"

I laughed. "I thought they were busy stopping wars somewhere or winning them?"

Andie elbowed my side. "That's what the parade's for, silly! They defeated the Demon Twins and rescued an entire city! Matt, we have to see them, it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"

I gave her a non-committal response and pulled her away from the board. In truth, I wasn't bothered at all about seeing 'The Invincibles'. They were just five people in suits that an entire industry was built around. Sure, they had powers and they did save people, but doctors, firefighters, and police officers did that every day. Where was their parade?

I'd tried to have the conversation with Andie several times. It was one of the rare things we disagreed on. She, like the rest of the world, was enamoured by the new breed of humans who were born with abilities akin to the superheroes from comic books.

We went back to our cottage and Andie cooked us breakfast. Our home was our pride. We'd poured our hearts into making it ours over the years and we were getting close to the point that we were considering adding a couple of little mischief-makers to complete it. Andie was a primary school teacher and I was a software engineer so we made a comfortable living and working with children made her broody.

She'd come off the pill a while ago, so we were all ready and prepped to take that next step. I cleared away the plates after breakfast and Andie gave me one of her lust-filled looks that had me stiffening in my pants. She walked into the living room with a sway of her hips, sat on our sofa and opened her legs, revealing that she wasn't wearing anything under her dress.

Dishes forgotten about, I ran over whilst throwing my clothes in all directions. I licked her pussy just how she liked it until she had a powerful orgasm, and sank my cock deep inside her. She groaned and pulled me closer. Sex with Andie had always been perfect. We fucked vigorously, sometimes for minutes, sometimes for hours. That morning, it was the former. I took her in different positions, bending her like a gymnast and fucking her until we were both drenched in sweat. After giving Andie a series of orgasms, I slammed my cock as far as I could inside her and came, filling her pussy with my seed.

After, we collapsed together and relaxed in bliss. Life. Was. Good.

At work on Monday, all I heard was people gossiping about The Invincibles coming into town. It started to get on my nerves, but I smiled and nodded as grown men and gossiped like children. Toward the end of the day, I was packing and waiting for Andie when Jerry, Beth, and Ryan were arguing over stories they'd seen circulating on social media.

"I heard Faux killed twenty men and set fire to an entire cocaine factory."

"No way, that was Ice! He froze the gang's blood and then Hammer shattered them!"

"I'd want Faux on my side in a fight, not Ice."

Andie had arrived and caught the end of the argument. "If I was choosing, I'd go with Omega. Those two are weaklings compared with him."

Ryan rolled his eyes. "Obviously, but that doesn't count, does it? Who would you pick, Matt?"

I laughed. "I'd choose phantom, then I could disappear and not have to answer these stupid questions."

They laughed and I left with Andie. For the next five days, The Invincibles were all I heard about at home and at work. I couldn't believe that such intelligent people were getting suckered into the media frenzy that surrounded them.

When Andie had spent our entire meal talking about them coming to the city, I finally said, "Andie, can we talk about something else, please? I get that you idolise them, but you know what I think and I don't want to spend all my time with my wife hearing about them."

Andie frowned. "Don't be so jealous! They are heroes, I sit around and listen to you gush over how well your favourite boxer has done or when your team wins, why can't you do the same for me?"

"Because that's just for one day. Honestly, you've not stopped speaking about them since you saw that they were coming to the city." I rubbed my eyes. "Sorry, maybe you're right. The parade's this Saturday, I can suck it up until then."

I tried to hug her but received a frosty shoulder. "No, you've spoiled it now. I was all excited and you've gone and ruined it."

I persisted and eventually she gave in. I hugged her and kissed the top of her head. "Sorry, I'll try to do better, really."

We had a big night of sex and the next morning things were back to normal. I even tried to comment on some things that I had read in the papers about The Invincibles and Andie showed me her appreciation for my efforts with a fantastic blow job, making sure to sink her pussy onto my cock before I came.

The day of the parade came about and I made sure that Andie and I got there early so we would be at the front of the crowd. I reasoned that it was no different to when I'd been near some of my sporting idols. There was something different about following someone's success that made you feel a certain amount of awe when you were around them. I remember meeting a very famous boxer and stumbling over my words. He was gracious and kind, and I came away from the meeting an even bigger fan.

The main street through the city had been shut down and metal rails were put along the sides to keep the masses back. It filled up in no time and we were left waiting for their grand arrival. Andie clenched my hand and bounced up and down excitedly.

When they arrived, it was a little disappointing. The five superheroes were standing on an open float that moved slowly down the street, but they didn't look anywhere near as impressive as in the posters. I supposed that makeup and digital enhancements went a long way to turning an average person godlike.

Faux was dressed in red spandex that clung to her curvy figure. She could control fire, summoning and bending it to her will. Ice was wearing fitted blue armour-type clothes that looked padded. He did the same as Faux but with ice (surprisingly). Next was Hammer, who in fairness was an absolute monster of a man. Nearly seven feet, his shoulders were probably a yard across and his forearms were thicker than most people's legs. His power was strength, able to punch through buildings and tear people in half. Then there was Phantom, dressed in a black cloak with a deep hood pulled over their face, no one knew anything about them other than they were invisible. Finally, there was Omega. The leader of the group, he could run at the speed of sound, was as strong as Hammer, and could jump so far it wasn't far off flying. I heard he had a super ability to heal, making him virtually indestructible. He was tall, with a harsh face and dark eyes. To me, his face looked cruel. There was a distinct lack of emotion in his eyes as he smiled and waved to the crowd.

Andie screamed as they passed and waved at the indifferent heroes. As they were level, Omega turned his head and locked eyes with Andie. She stiffened and said, "Oh my god, he's looking at me!"

"Uh, yeah," I said, placing my arm around her. He might be some sort of killing machine, but Andie was my girl. His gaze was nothing short of predatory.

Then, the moment passed and he looked away. He exhaled but Andie didn't sense any of my unease.

"Did you see! Omega looked at me! Fuck, I can't believe it!"

"Yeah, that's great," I said without conviction. The float moved on and I was privately glad I didn't have to see them again.

Andie was still buzzing as the crowd dispersed and I started to get annoyed. Maybe I was jealous for no reason, I wasn't sure. Eventually, I said, "Andie, stop! I saw him look at you, but it was creepy, OK? The dude has weird written all over him. I get he's your hero, but let's just leave it."

She let go of my hand. "How can you be so jealous? I've never known you to be like it before!"

"I don't know, maybe I don't like you swooning over another guy, regardless of who he is! Imagine if I did the same thing for some woman!?"

Andie snorted. "You're being ridiculous."

The mood was sour after that. Unfortunately, something happened that pushed our relationship to a place I'd never thought it would get to. A man wearing a black suit and sunglasses came up to us as we were leaving. He passed Andie an envelope and said, "Open this in private." Before we could ask anything else, he turned and walked away.

Our confusion overcoming our anger, we quickly walked home. Andie opened the envelope as soon as the door was closed and gasped. "Matt! We've been invited to meet The Invincibles tonight! Fuck! This is the best thing ever!"

I took the invite off her and read it carefully. We'd been invited to a function with The Invincibles at The Regent Hotel from seven that evening. I handed it back, not feeling at all comfortable or excited.

Andie noticed my mood and immediately went on the attack. "Oh, please don't tell me you aren't going to go and meet them because of some silly insecurity you have!?"

"It's not some silly insecurity, I'm telling you how I feel!" I snapped. "We've always been good at talking things through and making each other feel better. Now, I'm telling you, I don't like how Omega looked at you. It was... creepy, and weird! You were blinded by his fame, this isn't good, Andie. I don't think we should go."

"We are not giving up this opportunity just because you feel weird!" she shouted. "We're going."

"And if I refuse? Would you go alone?"

Andie crossed her arms and for the first time looked uncertain. We never did anything apart, ever. "I..."

"This isn't us, since when do we fight? Please, we had a great day today, you saw The Invincibles at the parade, can we forget about it?"

Andie was torn by indecision for a moment and then her face hardened and I knew her mind had been made up. "No, we aren't going to pass up this experience. We'll go together and you'll see how wrong you are. If the way Omega looked at me freaked you out, then I promise I'll stay away from him all night and I won't leave your side."

She hugged me and looked up at me with her big brown eyes. "Pleeeeaaase?"

I sighed. I trusted Andie and we had never broken a promise to each other before. "Fine, but if I say we leave, we leave. And I'm holding you to your promise."

Andie jumped and kissed me. "Yay! I promise it's going to be amazing! I'm going to give you all the sex you can handle when we get home. By the end of tonight, we'll be pregnant!"

I laughed and hugged her. "OK, sex with you in exchange for a few hours meeting weird people in funny costumes? You got yourself a deal."

Some in my situation might have been screaming I should have read the warning signs, but the truth is, I did read them. I knew they were there and what had the potential to happen, the problem was that I had unwavering faith and trust in my wife. Was it stupid? Maybe, but I refused to put my wife in a cage. She'd listened to my concerns and we'd come up with a compromise that made both of us feel at least a little more comfortable. So, despite my apprehension, we left for the hotel.

Andie was dressed in a nice dress and I wore a shirt and chinos. We cleaned up quite well and heads were turning when we entered the lobby. Andie flashed the invite at the reception staff and we were taken by another man in a black suit to an elevator. Andie and I were nervous for completely different reasons, so the ride was tense and quiet.

The elevator opened up directly into a huge room with an assortment of seating areas, a bar, a dancefloor, and floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the city skyline. A few people dressed nicely were mingling at the bar, a mixture of couples and women about Andie's age.

We bought a drink and then found some chairs, unsure of what we were meant to be doing. The room slowly filled and we met other people who had received invites like ours. We chatted until the doors opened and a hush fell over the room.

The Invincibles entered, dressed immaculately. Andie gripped my hand and craned her neck to get a look. Only Phantom was dressed in the same closed they'd worn earlier - I supposed it didn't really matter what they wore.

A man in a black suit raised a small black device and pressed a button. "Your phones have all been switched off. This is for the privacy of our heroes, any attempts to turn them back on will be met by a swift removal by our security. Please do not hound them, they will come to you if they wish to speak. Other than that, have a fantastic evening."

It was the strangest welcome speech I'd ever heard. Andie and I looked at each other and shrugged. We spent most of the night talking to other people. Andie looking around was almost comical to watch. It was like she had a nervous twitch.

Things were going well until they weren't.

We were standing by the windows when I felt her tense up, and I knew that one of them was walking over. Turning around, my heart dropped to see that it was Omega. Up close, he wasn't nearly as intimidating. He was a touch shorter than my six-two, and the earlier harshness I noticed was more prominent up close. He barely looked at me and stared at Andie with that creepy predatory look.

"Hello, I'm Omega," he said, ignoring me and offering Andie his hand.

Fuck this, I thought to myself. I took his hand and shook it. "I'm Matt, and this is Andie, my wife."

He raised an eyebrow in mild surprise, the most emotion I'd seen him express.

"Uh-yeah. I'm Andie," she said, flustered.

"Will you join me for a dance, Andie," he asked.

Andie looked at me guiltily. "If Matt doesn't mind. I-"

I interrupted. "Sorry, but Andie and I agree we'd only be dancing together tonight. Thanks for the offer."

Omega's jaw twitched. "Very well." He turned and strolled away.

"What the fuck was that!?" Andie hissed furiously.

"You tell me!" I retorted. "What happened to your promise!? Did you not see how he looked at you? This is all wrong! Besides, you agreed that you wouldn't leave me all evening, so what the fuck was that!?"

"You were so fucking rude! I'm so embarrassed of you right now!"

"You're embarrassed of me!? My wife is acting like an infatuated child with some creepy guy! You should have shot him down the moment he asked, but you didn't. I don't blame you for him coming over to talk, but I do for not turning him down!"

I was fuming. Never before had I had reason to doubt Andie in any way, but in the space of a day, the foundation of my trust for her had been cracked. Andie didn't seem too happy either but I was beyond caring. We were stiff with each other but made polite conversation for the next few hours. She perked up when Faux and Ice came over to speak and then later when Hammer came over, but after, she slumped back into her mood.

Eventually, I said, "I think it's time to go. You met everyone and we had... an evening. Let's go home and put this behind us."

Andie let go of my hand. "No, you can go but I'm staying. You've ruined what was meant to be one of the most special nights of my life."

"Andie, what's gotten into you? Listen to yourself, you sound like a child! I thought our marriage or our honeymoon were the most special nights of your life?"

Before Andie could reply, Omega appeared again, stepping between us. "Can I interest you in dancing again?" he asked.

I nimbly stepped around him. "Andie, let's go. It's getting creepy now."

Andie was mortified, but not by Omega's offer, from my response. Omega placed a hand on my shoulder and I felt my bones close to breaking. I staggered to the ground and heard him say, "He's drunk. Kick him out."

I was hauled to my feet. "Andie, let's go!" I shouted as two burly guards dragged me away.

Andie watched helplessly and then Omega stepped toward her.

And just like that, our marriage shattered. I gave up fighting, looking at her and hoping she could see the devastation she'd just caused. I wasn't even close to drunk, but I can't remember being thrown from the hotel. I walked listlessly through the city streets, my mind adrift under the yellow glow of countless lampposts.

An hour later, I reached the park near our house and passed the poster of The Invincibles. I punched it and ended up hurting my hand. I didn't think it was broken but at least the pain was better than the turmoil in my head.

I thought I was being mugged as a hand grabbed my arm and steered me toward the park bench. I tried to turn around but they were far too strong. "Sit," a female voice ordered, surprising me. I was almost certain it had been a male.

"Look, take what you want, I don't have much on me," I said. I looked up and froze. All comprehension of rational thought flew from my mind.

Standing before me was the personification of perfection. Long, lustrous white hair, skin as white and smooth as marble. Red, full lips and high cheekbones. She was sex incarnate. A goddess walking amongst mortals. She was wearing a black, sparkly dress that clung to her figure like the night sky made liquid. A slim figure that held devilish curves in all the right places, including two generous swells on her chest.
