One of my college friends, Simon, messaged me after many years. He was in town for a wedding and wondered if I wanted to meet up. I told him that sounded great and suggested he come over to hang out at my place with my wife and I. However, I needed to check with her first. He was cool with that and said if it didn't work out, we could always grab a couple of beers somewhere else.
Eve isn't fond of unexpected visitors, especially strangers. She's always particular about keeping the house tidy, and if anything were even slightly out of place, she would refuse to have anyone over. Fortunately, it was one of her many cleaning days--she has a bit of an obsession with cleaning. At first, she was hesitant about Simon coming over since she had never met him, but she eventually warmed up to the idea as it would give her a chance to learn more about my college days.
I called Simon to let him know Eve was okay with him coming over and suggested Sunday afternoon, the day after the wedding. He was fine with the plan.
Eve and I have been happily married for three years now - she's 27 and I'm 29. We first crossed paths at an electronics trade show where our companies had adjacent booths. I was in engineering while she was in sales. She stood out as one of the most attractive women there. She has a slim figure and a short, jet-black hairstyle that gives her a boyish look, which suits her appearance perfectly. She has small neat breasts, B cups, and even though she's very slim, she definitely has the unmistakably sensual curves of a woman including a very firm and shapely ass. Our sex life was fantastic. with Eve often being the one initiating our frequent sessions.
Eve asked about my college days with Simon, and I admitted he was quite popular with the girls back then. Intrigued, she wanted to see what he looked like, so I pulled up his profile page.
"Him?" she said, surprised. "He looks just normal. Like an accountant, glasses and all."
"Well, he is an accountant," I replied with a laugh, reassuring her that he was a fun guy that she would like. "We'll see," she said, her tone skeptical but curious.
When I picked up Simon on Sunday, it felt just like the old times. He looked sharp as always, sporting casual shorts and a polo shirt that suited him well. While he was never classically handsome, he had a great sense of style and carried himself with a laid-back confidence. As we joked and reminisced, I teased him about getting older and still being single. Asking why he hadn't settled down yet,.
"I'm really nervous about getting married," he said thoughtfully, pausing for a moment. "Dave, do you remember how it was back in college? The hookup scene? I thought that would change as we got older, but it hasn't. So many women seem eager to sleep with the next guy. Maybe that's just my experience, but it feels true."
"Well," I replied, "maybe if you find the right woman, you won't have to deal with that anymore."
Simon laughed and said, "That's the problem, Dave. Most of the women who come on to me are already married."
A hollow simmering sensation formed in my stomach. "Surely, not all wives are like that," I said, trying to reassure both him but especially myself.
"It certainly feels like it," he replied. "I've even decided to take a break from the dating scene to escape that negative environment. That lifestyle was fine when we were younger, but now it just seems juvenile."
My mind wandered to Eve. She's not like that at all. I looked at Simon and said, "Just look at me and Eve; our relationship is strong, and I trust her completely."
He paused, considering my words. "Maybe you're right, Dave. Maybe I just haven't found the right woman yet." Our conversation shifted to broader topics as we continued our journey, both of us lost in our own thoughts.
When we arrived, Eve greeted Simon warmly, and they exchanged friendly pleasantries. She looked stunning, wearing a comfortable sundress that highlighted her natural style and her unmistakeable curves. Her short hair was neatly pulled back, and a hint of lipstick accentuated her beauty. I noticed Simon stealing glances at her, clearly appreciating how amazing she looked.
"What are you having Simon," I asked him. "We have wine, whisky, I think we might even have rum somewhere"
"Rum? You sure it's still there, maybe Eve drank it all" Simon chuckled, easily breaking the ice. Eve punched him playfully on the arm. "Maybe I should drink it all" she laughed.
"Hmm, do you have any type of light beer?" Asked Simon, "I had a few drinks at the wedding yesterday and I don't want to overdo it"
"Yes indeed, we do have light beer," I said. "Beer it is!"
"Do you drink beers Eve?" Simon asked. "Or does Dave only only allow you soda?"
"You damn well bet I do." Replied Eve with feigned indignation, her eyes sparkling as she quickly warmed up to Simon.
After a few rounds of beers, the atmosphere remained light and easy, Eve and Simon were really hitting it off. As usual, Eve wasn't drinking much--just sipping her first beer while Simon and I had each downed a few. Simon was being his usual funny self, making Eve laugh out loud with his silly stories. But I couldn't shake off our earlier conversation in the car. An idea struck me. I excused myself, headed to my storage closet, and plugged in one of my company's devices to charge before quickly returning to the porch.
When Eve got up to use the bathroom, I seized the moment. "So, Simon, what do you think about a little experiment?"
"An experiment??" he replied, sounding confused.
"Yeah, remember how you mentioned that married women sometimes flirt with you without any encouragement? What if we tested that out with Eve? I could give you two some space and see if she shows any interest."
"Not a chance, Dave. I'm not getting involved in that. You're my friend, and I don't want to risk our relationship over some ridiculous game. I don't know what you're thinking, but this isn't college anymore--it's your wife we're talking about."
"I guess you're right Simon, but think about it." I pressed. Simon just glanced away and shook his head with a laugh.
But my plan was already set in motion, with or without Simon's cooperation.
I headed to the kitchen, to get another round of beers. There were six left, so I quickly tucked four away in the back of the pantry. When I rejoined Simon and Eve, I said, "We've got a bit of a problem. There are only two beers left. I need to run and grab some more."
Simon shrugged. "I'm fine, really. I've probably had enough."
I pushed back. "I won't be long; the gas station's just ten minutes away. Let's keep this vibe going! Who knows when we'll be able to hang out like this again?"
Simon agreed, as long as Eve and I were okay with it. Eve offered to go, but I playfully shooed her away, saying it was her chance to get Simon to spill my college secrets in private. We all laughed. Meanwhile, I casually stuck the mini wireless microphone under the wooden porch table when neither of them would notice.
The mic was paired to my phone, and I could listen in wherever I was. I thought I would have a bit of fun with it and catch anything interesting that came up. I left them on the porch and headed out.
It took me a few minutes to connect to the mic because I forgot the password. Once I finally got the connection, the signal was surprisingly clear, even if a bit tinny. I could hear Simon telling Eve how great we were as a couple and how he wished he could be in a relationship as solid as ours.
"Really Simon? Dave said you were quite the ladies' man back in college. Is that true, or was he just exaggerating as usual? It shouldn't be hard for you to find someone if that's the case!"
"Ladies' man? That's what he said? I don't know about that, but it was college, so we all had our adventures."
"Even Dave?"
Simon laughed. "Dave was the quiet one. He left the shenanigans to me."
"Oh, so you admit it then?"
Simon laughed again. He had a contagious, unpretentious laugh. It put people at ease, including Eve clearly. "Alright, moving on," he chuckled. Eve joined in the laughter.
"Should I grab us the last two beers?" she asked.
"Sure, but don't hold me accountable if I start behaving inappropriately. I've already had a few."
"That might be a good thing--I could learn more about your adventures in college... or... who knows what else?" They both laughed again.
