First, I need to thank Jujuma for her heroic efforts in turning my ramblings into something readable. Sadly, any mistakes you may find are mine alone as I couldn't leave well enough alone. Sorry.

While this is an LW cheating story its neither an RAAC or heavy on the revenge angle. I doubt you'll find any new ground covered here either. It's just me telling a story. All persons are a figment of my mind and my world. Heads up, there is a scene that might upset some snowflakes. You have been warned. Enjoy.

Heartbreak Run

Henry laid there, staring at the ceiling of the latest motel room he was currently in. He had finally calmed down and was able to push most of his emotions aside to be able to think about why he was there and examine his options with a calmer head than he had over the last few days.

Henry was actually Henry Chambers. A 35 yr. old Spec Ops veteran who had gone to work for a privately owned 'security firm' after his discharge. While most of his assignments, for the last three years, had been stateside, he still made the occasional trip overseas when one of the other teams needed back-up or additional personnel.

His boss had been trying for a few years to get him to take a promotion which would leave him state-side full time, but he knew it would also leave him shackled to a desk far more than he wanted to be. He had been more than a little reluctant to make the move for that one factor alone. But it was during the quiet times, late at night while lying in bed, he would entertain the thought there may be another reason as well; he was hooked on the rush he got while on a mission.

It was four years ago when he had just come back from a three-month long assignment with a pocket full of money and a guarantee of six weeks of vacation time, thinking about what he wanted to do with his time while sitting in a local watering hole close to his office when a woman about his age walked in off the street and sat at the bar. He couldn't put his finger on any one specific physical feature of her's which caught his attention, but she definitely had.

If he had to describe her, he would say she had this sexy girl-next-door look about her, shoulder length auburn hair, hazel green eyes and a really cute face. From what he could make out about her body she looked to have a nice large B or small C cup breasts which set high and firm on her chest and a nice tight heart shaped ass from what her blue jeans were showing.

It took Henry most of the evening but before the night was over, he had her phone number and a promise of a date the following weekend. She had made him wait but by the end of fourth date they found themselves in Henry's apartment where he made love to her in the living room, on the kitchen table and finally the bedroom before they eventually passed out for the night.

It was about seven months into the relationship when Henry had asked her to move in with him. She was hesitant at first due to his job but after he explained that she was already spending most nights at his place anyway, she finally agreed. The day she moved in was also the day he informed his boss he would be taking the damn desk job he had been nagging him about.

Even if it meant he was tied to a desk, there was one perk to the job he couldn't help but smile about. It meant he was going to be home every night with Julie wrapped in his arms while her legs were wrapped around him.

They spent their first Christmas together meeting with her parents and the extended family. While Henry wasn't immediately adopted into the family, her mom eventually warmed up to him once she saw how much he loved her daughter. Her father, understandably, didn't think anyone was good enough for his little girl. He had to smile at this as he was sure he'd feel the same way if or when they had a daughter of their own. That one thought brought everything into perspective for him.

Henry had felt the relationship had been progressing along for two years and was thinking it might be time to finally make it official as both of her parents had been making some not-so-subtle comments about wanting to enjoy grandchildren before they got too old. It caused him to laugh more than once but he finally did go out and buy her a ring.

During this same time though, her job had been going through some major transitions. The economy had suffered a downturn, and her company was in the one of the sectors hardest hit. Because of this, the company she worked for had to close two smaller regional offices and consolidate them with her office. Unfortunately, her workload increased while they still maintained the same number of staff, which meant she had to spend more time at the office than before. She assured Henry once she got a handle on the increased workload her hours would go back to something closer to normal. He sympathized with her since his previous position had forced him to work longer than normal hours as well. All the while, he still had her ring stashed safely in his gun safe.

It took about four months, but her schedule finally started to go back to normal. She would still come home haggard some night, but she would call when she did. They were approaching one of those stupid, made-up anniversaries most couples have: first date, first time they made love, when they agreed to be exclusive. Knowing she was finally getting a handle on her job; he thought it would be a romantic gesture to propose on one of those days. When he looked at the calendar he saw a date she had circled along with 'The Day' highlighted so he picked that night to put his plans into action.

Henry came home early that day and set the table with their good plates and silverware while ordering her favorite meal from their favorite restaurant. He knew it was risky, but he had their meals delivered just fifteen minutes before she was supposed to arrive. He unboxed everything and set it in the oven to keep warm. After opening a bottle of wine to breath and the ring securely in his pocket, he sat back and waited for her to walk through the door so he could finally pop the question.

An hour later he called her phone, but it went straight to voicemail. A call to her office and the answering service told him they couldn't help as they were a remote third-party group. The locator app he had installed on her phone for emergencies showed it to be off, but her last location was her office. Now he was starting to worry. He checked with the local police to see if there had been any reports of an accident which there hadn't been.

So, he sat and waited. For three hours.

It was almost 10pm when she walked in the front door, makeup and hair mussed up while reeking of sex. She turned and saw Henry which caused her eyes to go wide. When she looked behind him at the table, she knew she had screwed up.

"Henry, Oh, I... I guess we need to talk?" she started haltingly with a look of guilt and regret in her eyes.

He didn't say anything. He couldn't. He was sure the rage, hurt and disgust he felt towards her was clearly written across his face.

Julie lowered her eyes, quietly walked into the living room and sat in the middle of the couch. It took Henry a few minutes before he was able to follow her in after he had a little better control over himself and his emotions. Once he did, he finally stalked in and sat in a chair opposite her.

"I take it you had a special night planned for us." She stated flatly. It wasn't a question as much as an unemotional statement.

Henry didn't say anything but reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring box and slammed it onto the coffee table between them. She jumped at his violent display. Then taking in what was sitting on the coffee table between them her eyes started to well up with tears. He didn't know if it was regret or shame not that he really gave a shit what she thought anymore.

"May... May I see it?" She asked as she slowly reached out for the box.

Faster than she thought possible, he snatched it up off the table and tossed it into a nearby wastepaper basket without uttering a word.

"Henry, I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you." She started again as the tears fell from her eyes. "I wanted to tell you for the last few weeks, but I've met someone else."

He let that statement sink in as he felt the knife twist more in his heart, 'a few weeks.' "Who?" He was finally able to growl out. She visibly shivered once the cold hatred in his voice hit her.

It took her a few moments before she answered. "Someone from work." She whispered. "You don't know him, but we can't deny our feelings for each other anymore." She finished in a rush.

He sat there and just glared at her for a few moments deciding whether or not he could get away with killing her and hiding her body. He knew he couldn't do it even if he thought he could get away with it. His parents had raised him better than that before there untimely death. Plus, he couldn't put her parents through that since he still liked them as well.

He stood up and towered over her for just a moment until he turned and stomped to the hall closet where he kept his leather riding gear. He grabbed his chaps, gloves and jacket along with the saddle bags then went to the bedroom. He thought it was strange with how quickly he no longer considered it "their" bedroom. He started stuffing clothes and whatever essentials he thought he might need into the saddlebags. Once those were packed he pulled on his leathers and headed towards the garage.

As he walked past the living room he saw Julie still sitting on the couch. "Don't be here when I get back." He barked out and started to turn away but stopped. Looking back at her he added, "Before you think about disrespecting me even further by bring that piece of shit into my house, I want you to imagine how your parents are going to feel planning your funeral if you do. You've already cheated on me and disrespected me. That's two strikes against you. There best not be a third." He glared until she couldn't meet his gaze then added. "I'm also going to have Reaper keep an eye out to make sure there isn't." Then he walked out to the garage and finished securing his saddlebags. As soon as the garage door was open enough, Henry shot out into the night to hit the open road.

Although they had been living together for a while, they had still maintained separate bank accounts while depositing half of their pay into a shared household account to pay the bills. His first stop was an ATM to pull out what he thought he need for the next week.

His second stop was his boss' house letting him know he was taking a week's vacation time. His boss was pissed over the short notice, but under the circumstances he understood since he had gone through two divorces of his own. After Henry told his boss the situation, his boss asked if one week would be enough. Henry said he'd let him know once he had finally cooled off and settled down enough to think about his next steps. With a pat on the back and swift kick in the ass, he sent Henry on his way. His final stop was the one person he knew literally gave Julie nightmares, Reaper.

Reaper was not the sort of person who could ever blend into a crowd. He was 6'2" and weighed around 265 pounds of solid muscle. While his physic alone was somewhat intimidating, there was also a scar which started from his hair line above his nose and ran down and across his left eye then curved further to the left stopping just short of his throat under his left ear. But even that wasn't what had given Julie the nightmare. Reaper suffered a form of PTSD which made it difficult for him to not be in full combat mode. The doctors at the local VA worried he might never get rid of the cold, dead glare in his eyes. It was the eyes which caused Julie to wake up screaming in the middle of the night claiming they were coming to kill her.

Henry gave Reaper the quick and dirty version of the evening's events and asked him to keep an eye on both his house and Julie. He also gave him permission to take whatever action he deemed appropriate to make sure she didn't bring her new boyfriend into his house. Henry saw the same wicked gleam in his eyes he had seen so many times just before a firefight.

"Consider it done, brother. What about her?" He asked.

"Right now, I'm not in any position to answer that one. As much as I want to choke the living shit out of her right now, I'm just too damned pissed off to decide her fate. If she does drag this new guy back to the house, then the decision is out of my hands." He finished.

"I wish I was hitting the road with you, but I'll keep an eye on things while you're gone." He sighed then continued, "Damn. I'd have been willing to bet money you two were going to make it work." while we clasped hands. Henry just nodded in silent agreement with him.

Henry knew it was both cruel and petty to tell Julie he was going to have Reaper watch over the house, but he never expected her to cheat on him either.

The cool night air along with the roar of the 96 ci motor screaming in unbridled fury at finally being allowed to open up and run free allowed Henry the first moments to finally think about something other than the cheating bitch or the disaster of his love life. Two years he had wasted on that bitch. He allowed himself one single consolation, he guessed it was better to find out now what a cheating slut she was instead of later on after they had said their vows.

He was three hours and 200 miles down the road before exhaustion slowly started to eat away at him, so he pulled off the road at the first motel he came to. Once he had a room, he didn't think his head had even hit the pillow before he was asleep.

Hearing Henry roar out of the garage on his motorcycle caused Julie to feel the full weight of her decision from earlier. They had been living together for so long and yet Henry had never given her any indication of moving forward. She didn't want to only be a girlfriend. She wanted to be a wife, married and raising a family. She thought it was probably the only reasons she had allowed Phillip to get as close as she had.

When Phillip hinted to her he was looking forward to settling down and having a couple of kids when he found the right partner, she knew then she was probably crossing a line she wouldn't be able to step back from. When she agreed to go back to Phillip's apartment after work, she knew her fate would be sealed a far as Henry was concerned if he ever found out.

She walked over to the trash can and retrieved the ring Henry had thrown in it. The tears started once she opened the box and saw the ring. She admitted to herself Henry was right. She really had betrayed him and disrespected him. She just hoped she had made the right choice with Phillip.

The morning sun was streaming in through a crack in the curtains as soon as it crested the horizon hitting Henry, still fully clothed, squarely in the face. It battled with the crushing depression he was feeling as he laid on top of the covers. Groaning and rolling over he dragged the covers with him while trying to cover his head to keep the offending brightness of the day at bay. Wondering why his body felt as if it had been turned into a punching bag, it took a few moments before he finally remembered where he was and why he was there. As the memories came crashing back down on him, so did the anger, but along with it was a sadness he didn't want to deal with either. "That. Fucking. Bitch!" He screamed out in his head.

He fumbled around until he found his phone and checked the time. Both his brain and body now understood why he felt the way he did. And they both had reason to protest as he had not even managed five hours of sleep. While it wasn't enough to wash away the pain and anger from the previous day, it was just enough he didn't need to worry about dying in some spectacularly stupid motorcycle wreck.

After a quick shower to loosen up his muscles, some facsimile of a breakfast at the local 'Awful Waffle' and topping off his tank again, he hit the road. He vowed the wheels wouldn't stop moving except to eat, sleep or refuel until he was positive his anger was under control. It wasn't until he stopped for dinner on the third night in which events finally conspired to allow Henry to vent just a bit of the anger and frustration he had barely managed to keep bottled up.

It started when he pulled into a family friendly diner. While it usually wasn't his first choice of a place to eat at, it had been the first place he had come across in the last couple of hours and he was too road weary and surly to care. He was sure the waitress could see it as well as she cautiously moved around him.

The best he could say about the food was it was passable, not that he was really tasting anything anyway. To him, everything tasted like sawdust. After paying the bill and leaving a tip for the waitress he walked outside in the hope of his anger finally easing enough to think rationally. What greeted him as he walked outside made his blood instantly boil. A family had gathered around his motorcycle.

The father had sat both his kids on the back of the motorcycle while he knelt down next to them. The mother had her phone out and was too busy taking pictures to recognize the threat marching up behind her until it was too late.

Once Henry stepped out of the restaurant, it only took him a moment to take in the scene and react. He walked up behind the woman and snatched the phone out of her hands and started to scroll through her photos. He deleted two pictures and one short video of his motorcycle she had managed to take. Once he had finished, he tossed her phone onto the roof of the diner. She stood frozen in place from the shock and didn't know what to do until her lifeline to the world was sent flying skyward. The moment she saw her phone sailing upward, she started yelling. 'Hubby' seeing this, started to come around and defend his wife when Henry punched him square in the chest knocking the wind out of him and sending him flat on his back. He then turned and pointed to the screaming mother and yelled at her to shut up and get her screaming brats off his motorcycle immediately.

As she ran to protect her children, he reached down and grabbed 'Hubby' by the front of his shirt and judo hip tossed him onto the hood of the closest vehicle pinning him there by his throat. "GIVE ME THE KEYS TO YOUR FUCKING CAR!" He roared loudly.

The guy, too scared to argue and still struggling to catch his breath, fumbled around in his pocket for a minute until he pulled out a key fob. Henry hit the lock button and the lights on a new Audi A6 lit up. He thought it was probably the first time since

that

night he actually smiled as he shoved the guy down into the hood to emphasize his point as he walked over to the new car.

Once he reached the car he planted his right foot on the driver's side front tire and stepped up onto the hood and proceeded to take a piss all over the roof, windshield and finally the hood of the car. Once finished and zipped back up, he dropped back down to the ground and tossed the keys over his shoulder not caring where they landed as he walked back to his motorcycle.

"Next time you decide to pull another stunt as stupid as this, you better be prepared to pay the Piper. If I see you do it, the next time I'm going to take a dump on the driver's seat and rub your face in it." he warned 'hubby' before hitting him in the gut for good measure driving the air out of him again.

As he walked over to his motorcycle, 'Wifey' thought she was safe because she was a woman and started yelling at him. He calmly ignored her while he inserted the key and turned the ignition switch and raised the kickstand.

As soon as he knew he was ready he turned his attention to her. "Shut Up Bitch!" He yelled while glaring at her. She took a step back in fear, but she also closed her mouth.
