This story is part of the 750 Word Project in Literotica. The challenge was to write a story using Literotica's minimum word count of 750 words and only 750 words. It was a fun challenge. I had three ideas and this is the one I decided to complete. Some day I may submit the others without an event, just because. I encourage everyone to give it a try.

I was at a club listening to the latest thing when she walked in. The latest thing was something called "jazz," and all the dolls came out to listen and dance. I was lighting a fag with my head down, so I missed her approach to my table. I normally like to be alone unless I invite someone over, but this dame had a nice set of headlights and great gams.
I didn't need to introduce myself; clearly she knew who I was.
Now I wanted to get to know her. Nookie was never a problem for me, but there was something about this one that suggested just having seen me in the movies or at the theater might not do the usual trick.

"You'll get the goods, but be careful what you wish for."
"I'm a modern girl. I won't be fainting at anything you say. Just keep it square daddy-o."
"This is a story about my first wife."
This got a reaction from her. "I didn't know you had a wife before Bess."
I knew I had her hooked. I told her my hidden past.
"I was young when I met Frieda and she was the bees knees. We got married and got our own place. It was a small apartment that was cold in the winter and hot in the summer. We didn't care, though, because it was ours. Not ours because we rented and didn't own it, but it was ours because we shared it.
"We struggled, back then, but we were in love. I worked mostly nights. It was gig to gig back then. I was doing magic at that time. They called me 'The King of Cards.' I was making ends meet but it was scary each month.
"My gig got canceled that night, so I came home early. I opened the door and saw Frieda with another man
