This is the thirty-third episode in a series entitled "Courtesan". If you have not read the previous thirty-two episodes of this series, I encourage you do so before beginning this chapter.
"Courtesan" is romantic story about a dominant hot wife and her submissive cuckold husband. While they have a deep and abiding love for each other they do lead an alternative lifestyle. If this subject matter offends you or makes you feel uncomfortable, I strongly suggest that you find something else to read.
When I arrived at the store the next morning Tonya's gray Mercedes was parked next to the building. I wasn't surprised, but seeing it did make me smile. As improbable as it might seem, I was hoping that Tonya and Kirby would actually be able to make a go of it.
I parked my car and went inside. Tonya was behind the cash register. She was engaged in an animated conversation with Bernice Cartland. Bernice was the cashier receptionist for the tire store down the street. One of her job duties was to open the store at 6:30 so that people could drop off their cars on their way to work. Every morning but Sunday, Bernice stopped at Kirby's on her way to the shop and bought a cup of coffee and a chocolate doughnut.
Bernice was a good looking Brunette in her early forties. She was married and had two teenaged girls. I met her the first morning I worked at Kirby's. That day, after she'd left, Kirby had told me that the guys at the tire store all claimed that she was having an affair with Larry, the store manager. Elvira later confirmed the rumor. It still may not have been true, but it certainly was juicy gossip.
Kirby was on his knees in aisle two. There only were two aisles in the store, but we still had to be able to differentiate between them so Kirby had them numbered, one and two. He was counting cans of soup.
I walked over to him. "Are you doing an inventory?"
He stopped counting and looked up at me. "Just an informal one. I'm trying to get some idea of how much money I might be able to get if I could actually sell everything in the store."
Behind us I heard Tonya say, "Thank you for the invitation; but it's a busy week for me, maybe another time."
Bernice answered, "Think about it, he really is a very handsome man."
"I will Bernice."
"I'd better get over to the store. It was nice talking to you Tonya."
"I enjoyed talking to you too Bernice."
Bernice started to leave but then she stopped and asked, "Are you going to be working in the store every morning?"
Tonya stopped to think. I glanced at Kirby. He was watching her intently.
After a moment she said; "I'd like to work as many mornings as I possibly can, but I won't be able to be here every morning. My job requires that I spend some time traveling."
"So this is just a part time job for you."
"Actually it's not a job at all, I'm just helping Kirby. He's my boyfriend."
Next to me Kirby's face lit up.
Bernice turned and looked at Kirby and then she looked back at Tonya. She wasn't being particularly subtle. She was trying to figure out how my overweight friend could end up with a girlfriend as beautiful as Tonya.
Finally she walked back to the counter, leaned over and whispered into Tonya's ear.
Tonya listened to her and then she answered, "I'll keep that in mind Bernice."
Bernice patted Tonya's hand and then she turned and hurried out of the store. It was almost 6:30, there would be several people waiting outside the tire shop when she got there.
As soon as she was gone Tonya walked over to Kirby and me.
Kirby stood up. He was smiling. "You had a nice chat with Bernice."
Tonya nodded. "Yes I did. She's a very interesting woman. She's married, has two teenaged daughters and dates her boss."
"Did she actually tell you that?"
"You mean that she's married and has two teenaged daughters?" Tonya had an impish smile on her face. She was teasing Kirby.
Kirby rolled his eyes. "No, that she's dating her boss."
Tonya grinned. "Oh yes, she most certainly did. In fact she tried to get me to go out with Larry's older brother Vince. She wanted us to double date. Apparently Larry saw me in the store yesterday and asked Bernice to take a shot at me when she stopped for her coffee this morning."
Kirby looked at Tonya. After a moment he cautiously asked, "What did you tell her?"
Tonya stared at Kirby for a second and then she said, "I told her no thank you." Smiling, she picked up Kirby's hand and gently held it between both of her hands. "Right now, the only man I want to spend time with is you."
She paused for a moment. Her expression slowly became more serious. Finally she said, "But that doesn't mean I might not say yes if she asks me again in the future. Kirby honey I'm just like Kelly. I love sex and I love men, lots of men. I am a professional and my job does provide me with the opportunity to play with a generous variety of men, but sex is also a form of recreation for me. When I meet a man who happens to strike my fancy, I'm always very open about the possibility of getting together with him for a little casual fun."
Kirby looked at her with a puzzled expression. "I thought you didn't date."
"Sweetie, I don't date, but that's not the same as hooking up for a night of hot sex with a guy I meet in the bar at the Goldenrod Supper Club."
Kirby closed his eyes and bit his lower lip. It was obvious that Tonya's blunt declaration had unsettled him.
Tonya noticed his sullen expression. "Kirby, you have to understand that this has nothing to do with my feelings for you. All we're talking about is sex for fun. Kelly's not in love with Chris. All of us know that she's head over heels in love with Timmy. Still, that doesn't mean she shouldn't occasionally get together with Chris so she can enjoy his big cock."
Tonya turned to me."Timmy when Kelly hooks up with another guy; not for business, but just for fun; does that bother you?"
I thought for a moment and then I said, "That's a complicated question."
Tonya raised her eyebrows. "Really?"
"Yes, it really is." I smiled. "I'm also glad that you asked it. I believe you know that in a few hours I'm going to be discussing this same issue with a man that I've never met before."
Tonya smiled. "Yes, I guess I am aware of that." She shrugged, "But I have to admit that it hadn't occurred to me when I asked the question."
Kirby looked at both of us with a puzzled expression. "I don't know anything about any of this. Would someone care to enlighten me."
Tonya patted Kirby's hand. "Sweetheart, I'll tell you all about it later." She sighed. "Right now it's very important to me that we finish this conversation."
Kirby smiled. That made me smile. Kirby was so infatuated with Tonya that I suspected he would accept anything she said as long as she prefaced it by calling him sweetheart."
Tonya turned back to me. "Okay, it is a complicated question. I can understand that. We have some time. If you're willing, I'd still like you to try to answer it. If Kirby and I are going to have any chance to form a relationship were going to have to reach a mutual understanding about this issue."
"All right, I'll do the best I can." I took a moment to think and then I looked at Kirby. "You know that Tonnie entertained a man at The Calvert Hotel last night."
"Yes, I know that."
"And you understand what that means."
"Of course I do. She had sex with him."
I glanced at Tonya. She was studying Kirby. She was very concerned about his reaction to all of this.
