Consequences Saga Part 11G: After the wedding and beyond.

For the list of Characters fast forward to the end.
Important Note: Some comments that I have had suggest that there is too much of the conflict between the two main characters, Olivia and David, and her continuous cheating. As I was editing this Part, I realised that certain paragraphs about Olivia's history could possibly be passed over, although they are supposed to integrate information related to the main story. I have therefore highlighted these paragraphs in Italic and identified them by a line of 8's before and after, (if the site has allowed) then it's up to you whether to pass over or not. Resolving the mystery of Olivia's 'problem' creates all kinds of subplots that perpetuates the Saga, and I make no apology for it.

After the 'Wedding'
David's newly betrothed are dancing in a big crowd in the centre of the dance floor, one or two waved to him as he headed their way so he went to join, their smiles warmed his heart and soon he was lost in their fun. He danced his extra energy away and then offered to retrieve drinks. They were all on soft drinks now, particularly those who are pregnant and he wandered over to the bar where he looked back towards the room.

I looked around the people who were celebrating with us. I knew Tania and Christina were there having greeted them earlier, they were going to stay with us for an unspecified time. Ana was delighted to see them and soon introduced Zoe to them. Zoe became entranced and I became worried for Ana that she spent so much time with them but Ana seemed taken up with the celebrations in our group and unconcerned. Aleesha and her boy were there and I had been to speak with her. She and I had had a few very hot days during background investigations she was doing for me. Aside from us not leaving the Hotel room for two whole days she reported that both Ruth and Abby's husbands seemed to be ok guys. Ruth's husband was thought of as a bit old fashioned or even from another time warp but he was well respected in the business world. Abby's husband, Keith, was a senior man with one of the major corporations with manufacturing interests. He was often away visiting the manufacturing plants if there was a performance issue or a change of local management, he was also a major speaker at the staff conferences. Abby had suggested that he was interested in investing in their growing business which pleased her because it meant she could spend more time at the Retreat.
Keith was staying over for the wedding so Abby's antics were a bit limited but I noticed she danced with my group while hubby seemed to be in a deep conversation with Ruth's husband at the bar. David guessed that her husband was not going to pay much attention while she was with the women. He was a keen golfer and David had arranged it so that the two husbands would play a round together on the morrow to be joined by David's and Jane's father who could use the time to make their own judgements about them as potential investment partners. Air hostess Kate had managed to arrange her flight schedule to be with us and was having a ball, currently socialising with a small group including Roger. Bill was around somewhere, I had relented on Joannie and Francine being invited and was sure I had seen him in their company earlier. There were so many old friends from their holidays and trips that he hadn't been able to catch up with them all yet. Most of the men were also due out for a round of golf leaving the single ladies, partners and wives spending time with the Retreat's inhabitants and other friends in our spa and gym to be managed in future by Jo. Many had heard tales of our Sunday activities and wanted to wear the obligatory shirt in the afternoon after a morning at the facilities. I suspected that the massive bed could be getting a tough workout.

David
"Hi there" said a voice I recognised from behind.
"Hello Angela, on your own? The last I saw, you were surrounded by admirers."
"Uhu, I'm letting them cool off for a while."
"Good idea keep them guessing, I hope you're having a good time"
"I am David, do I have your permission to let my hair down?"
"I would love you to do so."
"Are you sure you won't come back at me with it later?"
"I will not."
"Are you sure, suppose I want Olivia?"
"You might have to join a queue," I smiled.
"Do you mean you?"
I grimaced with a 'get real' look, followed by a 'don't be so stupid' expression, hoping she would get the message. I was tired of putting people straight about the relationship and she should know better. She seemed to step back so I answered. "She did bring a male guest but my best guess is that she is surrounded by admirers if not already under a pile of bodies."
"Ahhh."
"Have you any idea what her plan for the night is?"
"Why would I? I haven't seen her for a week or so, she seems to be different, but then she also always seems to be half a step ahead of everyone else. Look at how she behaved at the 'family weekend' after starting out so responsibly."
"She told me earlier that she hadn't had sex since that Hotel incident."
"Maybe." I said sceptically. "Has she talked to you with Jane about a recent incident that came out?"
"Yes she has asked for full confidentiality."
"That's fair enough, you know how the land lies now between us, I am sure."
Yes she has told me and Jane has said a great deal too."
"Well, none of it matters anymore, it's too little too late, there's something inside her that wants to destroy me, it might have been repairable in the beginning but I've lost any hope completely."
