The characters:
From Consequences One
David: A hardworking Architect who--with his wife, Olivia--has built up a successful practice over 10 years. He holds women on a pedestal and is totally devoted to his wife. They have decided it's time to have children and after failed attempts, try to spice up their love life.
Olivia: A Designer who--with her roommate, Ana--has a past from her Uni period that he doesn't ask about and she doesn't mention.

Jane: David's first love who broke his heart but becomes a social friend sometime after he returns to the area with Olivia. In Part Two she ejects her cheating husband and moves, unplanned, in with David and Olivia.

That same evening
That evening, the threesome decides to get takeout, and David volunteers to drive over and collect it. When he returns, the ladies are already at the dining table making initial investigations. Somehow or other they find themselves on a couple of hedonistic sites, the only downsides they are finding are the normal short periods of stay. They agree that they will have to make their own adventure. They are thinking that it needs to be on an exotic island, maybe a cruise to get there.
They decide to make a list of things they'd like, and time passes in a warm and fun atmosphere that's growing fast in their possible family. High on their list they find the words; Adult, Grown Up, Exotic, Island, Beach, Parties, Good Restaurants, Pools, Water Swimming, Diving, and Big Rooms or a Hut for 4. So, the ladies decide to start again with those search words. They are also going to look up vacation agents they can visit.

Michaels story continues
Michael has left another message during the day. So, while the Ladies continue their investigations, David decides to call him back. The summary of the discussion is that David suggests a meeting during the following week because they are planning a holiday soon.
David gives Michael details of the lawyer he uses, James. He also recommends that Michael speak to the PI, Monica. Michael can kill two birds with one stone by going with David to visit his offices and take the opportunity to talk about job terms and prospects. They agree that it might be best for him to start off in Baltimore where he can visit the Enquiry Agent and the Lawyer, then later have a meeting with everyone at the office.
The men have pretty much covered everything, so David asks how things look with Sarah. Michael decides there isn't any good reason to hold back any of the details, so he goes through the evidence as it accrued and says he's decided to go with the Enquiry Agent before making a final move. They finally disconnect with best wishes and good luck.

Olivia thinks that kiss might be a better beginning than the earlier introduction, but this might be a slow process.
David wonders to himself how this night will go. 'I think Ana and Olivia may need to have the night alone to see how they feel about each other.' David hates the idea, but the old David would have given in to the feelings of others before himself. 'I wonder though whether I should give up my wife and my bed for the night or take a firm hand. My self-respect tells me not to give up my bed, but first I think I might get Jane's feelings on the situation.'
