It was the final night of the conference and while I was tired my anticipation level was very high. The last night consisted of an awards dinner and then some music and dancing followed by Casino night. I am not a gambler so Casino night was not high on my list but people were buzzing about it.
My table was in the front close to the center. Annies was two tables behind me and Kim's was back in the corner. Dinner was excellent and since I was the only single guy at the table I was joined by Allison from commissions. She was a couple years younger than I was and very attractive. She was flirting with me the whole conference and while I was attracted to her, I just treated her as a dinner companion.
Dinner ended and they started to get the band ready for dancing. The top agents were encouraged to wander around and just be friendly so that we were all considered one big happy family.
I made it to Steve and Annies table. I asked if he was looking forward to Casino night. He was but his beloved Dodgers were playing in the World Series against the A's. He and a couple of his buddies were going to try and catch some of the game.
I worked the room and as I arrived at the table next to Kim's the band started up. I finally ended up at Kim's table and almost all of them had been on the bike ride. There was a lot of talk about how we should have listened to the guide. I turned to Kim and asked how she was feeling after the long "ride." She responded that her muscles were sore but she was feeling pretty good.
The band started up with a fast song that I liked so I asked her if she wanted to dance. As she rose, the woman next to her said "You can dance too?"
I responded with a quick "I will let you judge if I am any good," as I walked Kim to the dance floor which was already pretty full.
I went to college at the end of the Disco era so if I wanted a chance with an attractive woman I had to know how to dance. As it turned out Kim could dance as well and we cut quite the rug over two dances. The third song was a slow one. I told her that if I danced close to her, I would probably want to fuck on the floor. She giggled at that thought and we agreed she would leave casino night around 11:30 and I would get to her room as soon as I could without being seen.
The woman sitting next to her said "It looks like you can dance. My husband gave me permission to dance with you if you aren't too tired." We went up and danced a couple of fast songs and then a slow one came on. I wanted to throw off any suspicion that Kim's friends may have had so I drew her close and danced.
She started flirting with me but I just said "I was flattered, but I have someone back home." That worked.
I spent the rest of that part of the program talking and dancing with Allison. She was very charming and while I wasn't interested in her at that time, I very much enjoyed spending time with her.
The band ended and Casino night started. I stepped outside for a breath of air and to see if there were any private areas if the opportunity arose. I found a bench down by the stream that seemed to be isolated. There was no one there as it was a little cool outside.
I am not a gambler but I love to study people so I thought I would check it out. I wandered around and spotted Kim. Her group was playing the blackjack table and they seemed to be having a fun time. I ran across Annie but there was no Steve. I figured he was across the hall watching the game so I wandered over there and saw it was only in the fifth inning and the score was close so I figured he would be there awhile.
I approached Annie and told her I would meet her outside in five minutes and left before she could answer. Five minutes later she came out. I grabbed her hand and led her towards the stream. "I really shouldn't," she said. "He might be back soon."
