The blue convertible roared as it climbed the canyon into Park City. Allie and Dylan needed this getaway badly. Between four kids, work, church, and school activities they were looking forward to their weekend away from all their worries. The trip up to the mountain resort had become an annual ritual for them--provided they could actually find the babysitters to help.

Luckily, Allie had a large family with lots of nieces and nephews that could jump in. Neither of their parents were in a position to do it, so the task of taking care of four kids for a weekend often proved daunting. They'd left mid-afternoon with the expectation that Allie's nephew and his wife would be able to be there around 6 or 7 PM to help put the kids to bed.

"I hope the kids are all right until Ben and Maddie get there..." Allie mused.

"I'm sure they'll be fine. Our kids babysit for each other when we go out on the weekends." said Dylan.

"I know but this is different. We're going to be out of town and I don't want them to be alone at night. They're still a little young for that," said Allie.

"They'll make it! I have faith in them," Dylan looked over and stared at his beautiful wife. Allie was approaching forty, but she looked like she was really at least ten years younger. With an inviting smile, dark brown hair, big hazel eyes, and an athletic body that 20 year olds would envy, she was absolutely stunning. She looked like a Disney princess crossed with an Olympian that had somehow stepped out of the screen and into real life. It was something so many people had commented on that she actually spent a summer playing a princess at Disney World.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" Allie asked, blushing a bit.

"Oh, I was just thinking how lucky I am to have you." Dylan said with a smirk. Allie smiled and snuggled up to him in the car as they drove on, exhausted with all the trip prep but elated at the chance to finally get away.

They arrived at their hotel and got their keys from the front desk. Their eyes lit up as they noticed the beautiful suite and large king-sized bed in the master bedroom. "Wow, it's been a while since we've had a king-sized bed all to ourselves." Allie said, her face lighting up. Dylan laughed and gave her a mischievous look at her in the bedside mirror.

"I know what you're thinking, Mrs. Hansen"

Allie blushed. "Do you, now? And what exactly am I thinking, Mr. Hansen?"

Dylan pulled her in for a kiss. "You'll find out soon enough, baby." Allie laughed and slapped him playfully on his arm then gave herself into his kiss. It always took a ton of work to get ready for these trips, and they'd been so busy that it had been way too long since they'd been able to make love. Allie felt the familiar warmth begin to spread all over her as her husband wrapped his arms around her and pulled her in. They melted together when suddenly they jumped at a sudden vibratioA:

BZZZZZZZZZZZ!!

Allie looked down at her phone. "Oh no..." she groaned.

"What?" said Dylan as he tried to read the text.

"Ben had an issue come up with work and they won't be able to make it up to our house until tomorrow morning."

"Dang... is there anyone else that can stay with the kids tonight on short notice?" Dylan asked.

"I don't think so," she said dejectedly.

"We're cursed aren't we," Dylan asked, managing a half-smile through the palpable disappointment.

"Yeah I think we might be." Allie replied. Both of them sat in silence for a moment, trying to run through their dismal-looking options.

"Listen, let's just give you a night off! I can head back and take care of the kids, then leave early tomorrow AM once they're up. We still have a few days up here and while I'm dying to get my hands on you, we'll still have lots of time to ourselves the rest of the weekend!" Dylan offered. He knew he'd have to get going pretty soon to make it back before the kids began to get worried.

Allie looked displeased, but she realized her husband was probably right. That was likely the best option they had. "I feel bad ditching you though..."

"Not at all! You take care of the kids every other night. You so deserve a night to yourself. Go get some dinner, hit up the sauna, then relax back here..."

Dylan cleared his throat a bit, then added, "And I hate to see such a nice room go to waste. If you meet some handsome guy maybe you can invite him back to keep you company..." Dylan said with mischief in his eyes.

"Oh here we go again... the old "hall pass" you're always trying to get me to use," Allie rolled her eyes at him. "You know I'd kill you if you ever even thought about being with another woman, right?"

"Yes of course! But where I'm obsessed with the one I have, it makes it pretty easy to stay on the "strait and narrow"' Dylan quipped.

"You know I'd never cheat on you, right?" Allie said.

"It's not cheating if I give you permission. Listen, I love when people take my car for a test drive and are jealous of how much fun it is to drive. Is it so bad that I want them to feel the same about my wife? You're a total smoke show and I just want you to see yourself as the total babe you are."

"So now I'm your car? To be loaned out and test driven?" Allie teased.

"Listen," Dylan said, trying to dig himself out of what seemed to be getting a deeper hole, "we were each other's "first and only." But I know that you enjoyed manly attention when you were single. I just think it would be nice if you realized that you still had "it." You are such an incredibly sexy woman and I just would love to see you recognize it. Fifteen years is a long time to be devoted to one person. I think you more than deserve a chance to sample what else might be out there."

"Well dream on buddy, because I don't see any guy trying to take me back here to use any hall passes," Allie said.

Dylan looked down, smiling devilishly and quipped, "I'm serious here. I know we've talked about it, and no pressure, but I'd really like you to have fun tonight. If the opportunity presents itself, I give you permission to see where it leads."

Allie stared at him intently. She wrapped her arms around his neck, looked up at him and said "You're insane," and kissed him one more time before he left to drive home for the night.

Allie looked in the mirror as she stepped out of the warm shower.

My husband is insane

, she thought as she remembered their conversation. She had to admit, however, that the idea of a hall pass was intriguing. She knew her husband though, and there was no way when push came to shove he'd actually let her go through with it. He was all talk.

Looking in the mirror, and being honest with herself, she did still have it. She did her best to exercise and stay in shape, and when she was younger she'd been a champion tumbler and cheerleader. Her legs and butt showed that she still had the ability to do some impressive backflips on the trampoline with her kids--as well as make her husband do some impressive backflips in bed. She had taken the time before her trip to get her hair cut and styled and had even gotten some eyelash extensions (that she hardly needed). The pink mani-pedi combo topped off the pre-trip prep and made her feel beautiful.

Allie looked through her outfits as she thought about what Dylan had said. There was no way that any guy was going to pick her up, and she was so in love with her husband anyway, that he'd have to be quite the hunk to even offer much of a temptation. But still, she did have to admit the thought of going out with a bit of a "single lady" vibe did have her a bit excited. Would anyone actually hit on her? After all, she was free tonight so why not live it up a little? She didn't need to go through with it, but the excitement that something

could

happen already had her feeling a bit tingly.

Maybe I can teach him a bit of a lesson

, she thought to herself.

It might not hurt to tease him a bit and maybe make him sweat. He should be careful tempting his wife like this,

she thought with a smile.

Deep inside she questioned whether she'd even be able to go through with something like that. Dylan had more than satisfied her their whole marriage, and it wasn't like she needed anyone else. She had eyes, of course, so at times she'd been able to appreciate a good looking guy--she especially had a soft spot for broad shoulders and blue eyes--but other than a fleeting, admiring glance, she'd never even thought about taking things further.

Ah why not? No one will probably hit on my anyway.

She tossed the usual conservative bra and underwear for something she'd packed to surprise her husband: a hot pink matching lace bra and panty set. The warm August night meant she had a lot of options, so she went with a cute gray tank top that showed off her perky boobs and athletic arms. She'd usually wear a sweater or something over the top, but why not live a little? Some trendy flared mom jeans and open toed shoes to show off her pedicure finished off the combo.

Not bad!

She thought as she eyed herself in the mirror with a matching chunky necklace and earring combo to finish off the ensemble. She snapped a pic on her phone and sent it to her husband.

A: What do you think about wearing this out?

She grinned with self-satisfaction knowing

exactly

how he'd react. He was too predictable.

D: DANG! You look HOT!

A: You better be careful what you wish for buddy. :)

She put her phone away and chuckled, pleased with herself.

Still got it,

she thought,

even if just with my husband.

Since Dylan had taken the car, her dinner options were relatively limited. There were a few restaurants within walking distance of her hotel, so she decided to hit up a local soup and salad place. She ordered her usual favorite protein bowl and settled in. Spending time with her husband was her favorite thing to do, but these quiet moments to herself were all too hard to come by and she enjoyed the time to just mindlessly surf her phone and enjoy an evening off.

Sitting there alone, together with their earlier conversation had made Allie reflect on how much fun it had been to be single. Just because she had saved herself for marriage didn't mean she didn't know how to have a good time. It had been nearly impossible to study in college because it always seemed that some guy or another at the library or in her class was always coming up with some excuse to hit on her. And Allie had been an

incredible

flirt. Her roommates always asked her how she did it and she just shrugged. Being a knockout helped, but she had an overwhelming charisma that men found irresistible. All she had to do was put out "the signal" as she called it, and like moths to a spotlight the men came flocking.

In fact, getting serious with Dylan and finally getting married had been really difficult. It took her quite a bit of time to finally come to terms with the fact that she should settle down with one guy. It had been so hard, in fact that a few months before they were engaged, she had been dating Dylan and another guy at the same time--a fact he never let her live down. She'd made out with the other guy the night before her and Dylan stayed up until 4 AM making out and watching a meteor shower. Being honest with herself, (and other than the worry that being caught would risk what she with Dylan) she absolutely reveled in how exciting and desired it had made her feel.

But that was then, nearly 15 years--and four kids--ago. She couldn't still do it could she? She was out of practice. And plus, who would be interested in a nearly 40 year-old mom of four when there are all kinds of 20 somethings around to pick up?

Slim pickings around here, that's for sure.

She thought as she looked around the room and scoped the place out. She felt a bit sheepish even looking, as it wasn't even a mindset she usually entertained. On her side, a slightly nerdy couple sat talking. They were in their 20s, and it looked like they were just friends or maybe there on a first date, and probably engrossed in a discussion about Marvel movies or

Magic: The Gathering

cards. Either way she smiled to herself glad those awkward days were over. A few other groups of women were there as the cafe was a favorite of ladies in the area. One or two other men were there, but neither were worth a second glance.

See this is why I got married,

she thought--

I got the best guy out there!

Just then, a man in tan pants and a blue shirt walked in carrying his food. He had black rimmed glasses that framed clear blue eyes, and an incredibly handsome face with light stubble. If she had to guess, he looked about her age, but his strong arms and nice shoulders showed he focused on taking care of himself. He had to be over six and a half feet tall, about the same height as her husband. He sat down a couple tables over, but almost immediately, their eyes met.

Allie caught herself smiling at him before she realized what she was doing, and quickly looked down.

Dammit! One minute into wondering if I still had it and here I am making eyes with some stranger.

She immediately felt a pang of guilt like she'd been caught scoping out a jewelry store for a robbery. The man smiled back, and she couldn't quite discern his expression. Arrogance maybe? She always had a soft spot for confident guys.

Finishing her food, she couldn't bring herself to get up quite yet. After all, there was no harm in a little looking right? Plus, this type of eye candy didn't come around every day! The other dudes around were straight up schlubs. A few more glance could store this guy into her memory bank and maybe she could use him for some fantasy fodder later that night with her purple vibrator friend. It had been so long that it was unlikely she was going to be able to sleep without a "big O" anyway. It wasn't fair of Dylan to have neglected her for so long, trip prep or no!

She noticed the stranger looking her way several times but seemed to be busy doing something on his phone and eating.

I'm probably flattering myself

, she thought,

plus he's probably married

. She did notice he didn't have a ring on, however.

B

ut you have one. Remember how YOU are married

?

A few minutes later, he took a phone call. He was speaking with someone and it sounded like a work call. His voice was deep and resonant, making her skin prick up a bit at how masculine he sounded.

"Ok let me see what I can do and I'll get back to you," he said, and hung up. He stood up and cleared off his table.

Dang, looks like show time is over. Oh well, farewell nice looking guy.

Suddenly, he turned and began towards her.

Allie's heart started thumping hard as she felt her adrenaline pick up. She stared down at her phone avoiding eye contact while she tried to gather herself.

What was this all about?? Was he really going to hit on her?

As he walked towards her, his face flashed a broad, white smile.

"So sorry to bother you, are you from around here?"

"Uh, sort of. I'm from about an hour away, but I am from Utah."

"I'm looking for some help. I'm here from out of town for business, and our team activity for tomorrow just canceled. I have to find something to do in town last minute tomorrow. I'm wondering if you've gone to the Sports Park or any of the other places like that around here? Are they any fun?"

Allie found herself drinking in his face and frame. He was gorgeous.

Add that to the old fodder bank,

she thought to herself.

"Um... yeah!" she replied, a bit flustered, "My husband and I have done the Winter Sports Park before and it's really fun! They have an alpine slide and a bunch of different activities you can do year round. It would be a good time for a work activity."

"Oh fantastic! Ok I'll tell my assistant to go ahead and book it. Thank you so much." he said, visibly relieved as he quickly typed a text message into his phone.

"My name is Matt, by the way."

"Allie," she said, and shaking his hand. It was massive and strong, seemingly engulfing hers.

"Do you mind if I sit down?" Matt asked.

"No! Not at all." Allie replied, worried she'd sounded too eager.

He sat down and smiled at her again.

Wow this guy is really handsome

, she thought.

"So what brings you up here?" he asked.

"A weekend getaway!" She said.

"Oh yeah, what's Allie getting away from?"

"Oh I have four kids at home. I love them and all, but sometimes I need a break!"

"There's no way you have four kids and look like that!" Matt said, leaning back and eyeing her up and down, a look of true disbelief on her face.

Allie blushed at the compliment, "Well thank you, that's very kind of you to say, but I assure you they are

very

real."

Matt laughed, "I've always had a thing for moms though... I think they're really sexy."

Wow. Pretty bold there buddy,

Allie thought. But she had to be honest, she didn't mind the flattery at all. She changed the subject, "So what brings you here?"

"I run a company that focuses on the acquisition of exotic plant materials and the creation of products from the oils."

"Oh, an essential oils salesman!" Allie teased.

"I was going to see if you were interested in joining my MLM down line!" Matt quipped, "Except mine actually work. We sell the products we find in rain forests and the like to pharmaceutical companies. No offense if you're big into the snake oils."

"I majored in biology and worked in a lab, so I'm pretty skeptical when it comes to claims about products." Allie replied.

"Well then you're trained enough to be able to tell when there's some chemistry involved I'd say." Matt said.

Allie blushed again.

"Yeah you might say that." She shyly managed a smile as she coolly took a drink, her big wedding ring glinting in the setting sun. She glanced to the side and noticed that the awkward couple were looking at her and Matt with wide eyes. They'd probably never witnessed anything like this before. That generation is so awkward with their noses always in their phones and online dating that they probably didn't even know you could just walk up and talk with a stranger. Let alone that this guy was straight up hitting on a married woman.

"So, you have any fun plans for tonight?" Matt asked.

"Usually I just enjoy having nothing to do on nights like this. I'll probably hit up the hot tub--we have one on our deck in our room. It's pretty nice."

"It is a beautiful night," he mused, his expression shifting subtlety, "I was thinking of walking along this trail I've heard about behind the restaurant here. You want to go for a walk for a bit before you sink into the tub?"

Allie tried to calmly take a drink. Her heart rate picked up and her stomach flipped over. Deep inside, she did want to go on a walk with this man--she was a straight woman after all. He was hot as hell. She knew exactly what trail Matt was talking about because she'd walked it with her husband a dozen times before when they'd been up here. And he was right, it was a really nice night out. In fact, she was planning on doing that exact same walk after dinner. But the anxiety in her began to rise. It was not a good idea to go for a walk with some random man she met 5 minutes before in a cafe--even if he looked like this. Not only that, her brain screamed,

you're married, remember!

It was like one of those cartoons where the devil and angel were fighting with each other:

DeviD: Oh c'mon it will be fun! You're going on a walk anyway! It's no big deal. People walk all the time.

AngeD: Are you crazy? You are MARRIED! You shouldn't be hanging out with other men, especially under these circumstances and he's transparently hitting on you!
