"So what brings you to town?" Steve asked Tim. It has been about a year since he had last seen his best friend from college.
"I actually have a job interview," Tim said with a smile. "If all goes well, we may be moving back here."
"Wow, that's great news!" Steve was excited his friend might return to the area after having been gone for about 8 years.
"And Jenny's on board?" Steve asked.
"She is more than on board, she is trilled. She has always wanted to live on the east coast," Tim explained. "Do you need another drink?"
"Yeah, just waive the waitress over, I have a tab open. So where are you staying?" Steve asked.
"At my cousin's Ray's," Tim waived to the waitress. "He is actually going to join us tonight. He should be here soon."
Upon hearing that news, Steve just nodded and smiled. The fact was, he didn't really like Ray. Ray just seemed untrustworthy. Like the guy who smiles to your face then stabs you in the back. Steve had a feeling that Ray didn't like him either and talked shit about him behind his back. There was nothing he could do about it. Although they were cousins, Ray was like a brother to Tim and they both carried on that type of relationship. Steve did not want to cause any drama, so he tolerated Ray whenever he was around. This happened to be quite often.
Steve and Tim continued to drink when the discussion of marriage came up. "So how are Cindy and the kids doing?" Tim asked.
"Kids are fine, they are both in middle school, so I now play the job of referee," Steve joked. "Cindy is a great mom and wife for the most part."
"The most part? What is that supposed to mean?" Tim asked.
"I really don't want to get into it. We are here to catch up and have a good time. The last thing I want to do is talk about my problems," Steve responded.
"Dude, it's me. You seemed troubled and I'm always here to help," Tim said with a sincere look on his face. "Lay it on me."
Steve was happy his old friend was there. He had been holding onto these feelings for so long he was happy he finally had someone to talk to that understood him. "Our relationship is good, I guess. I just wish Cindy would be more adventurous in the bedroom if you catch my drift. It's not a dead bedroom, but everything has become so routine. When we do have sex, it seems so lifeless lately.
"I was thinking back to our early days. Even though we did it more frequently, it was always so vanilla. Then I think about some of the woman I dated in college. How wild they were. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice. I feel like I'm missing out. Like I'm going to die full of regret," Steve sighed.
"Well, that sucks. Shit, I think I see Ray," Tim waived his cousin over. "Let's pick up this conversation later when it's just us."
Steve was disappointed to see Ray approaching but he knew Tim was right. The last thing he wanted to do was discuss this with Ray.
"What's going on guys?" Ray said in his big entrance.
"Steve was just reminiscing about all the wild women he use to date in college," Tim laughed.
"Oh, yeah?" Ray started laughing. "Fuck, this just shows why I never want to get married. I never want to be like you clowns, reminiscing about the glory days."
"Easy boy," Tim shot back. "Hell, we both made the conscious choice to get married to good women. That, however, doesn't mean we don't think about all the ho's we had back in the day!
"What is your wildest sex story Ray?" Tim asked his cousin.
As the three of them continued to throw back beers, Ray went on to tell them both about the 25-year-old he is dating and all the freaky shit she is into. This lasted about 20 minutes and 2 more rounds before Ray asked Steve about his best story. The three of them were now starting to feel the drinks and got looser with their conversations.
Steve responded with story about this girl Alison he had a one-night stand with. She was a complete head case but a total freak in bed. She loved getting ice cubes rubbed on her nipples while she took it doggie style.
When the three stopped laughing, Ray jumped in, "Yeah, the crazy ones are always the best in bed. The only thing better than crazy sex is affair sex. Tim, what was that story about that married woman you fucked? I was never able to get that story out of you."
"You never told me this story," Steve said with a smile looking to hear the details from his best friend.
"Well, I've never told that story because it was not my proudest moment. It was shortly after I moved to Austin, before I met Jenny but something I'm a little ashamed about. I probably never would have done it if I had known she was married," Tim laughed. "I had seen this girl Zoe out several times, and it was always very flirty. You could cut the sexual tension we had with a knife. Every time we hung out it would get more and more flirty between us, but she had mentioned early on that she had a boyfriend. Well, this one night, we were both a little drunk and she was being extra flirty with no mention of her boyfriend. One thing led to another, and we ended up in bed together. Let me just mention that this girl was smoking hot and more importantly hot for me. She started with the hungriest blow job I had ever gotten. It was like she was worshiping my cock. Also, I had never heard a girl talk so dirty in the bedroom before. She was saying things like "Make me your slut". She loved it doggie and had me pull her hair while telling her what a whore she was. The session went on for over an hour leaving no position untried. She also made me finish on her face. Let me tell you, that girl really made me feel like a porn star. It was by far the best sex of my life. Please don't tell Jenny I said that," Tim laughed.
Tim continued, "However, about a half hour after we were finished, she suddenly broke into tears. This is when she confessed that she was married and now regretted cheating on the "love of her life." After that, I vowed to keep her secret and never talked to her again.
"Wow," Ray said. "Did her husband ever find out about how she fucked around?"
"I don't think so. As far as I know they are still together and apparently have children," Tim admitted.
The three guys continued to drink more beers and did a few rounds of shots as well. Ray continued to get drunk and snarkier with each drink. Many of his "jokes" were making fun of Steve. Steve did not like this and remembered how he thought Ray probably talked behind his back when he wasn't around. He then decided to put his phone on record and leave it on the table while he went to the bathroom. He would later listen to see if Ray in fact did talk behind his back when he thought he wasn't listening.
Eventually the three guys called it a night, and all went home. Steve was happy his friend might be moving back to town. It had been some time since he had a close friend he could trust around.

The next morning Steve woke up with a bit of a hangover. It was about 9:30 and it was obvious that his wife Cindy had let him sleep in.
Wow,
he thought.
It's going to be great having Tim move back to the area. I really hope he gets that job.
While lying in bed, Steve started playing with his phone when he remembered that he took an audio recording to see if Ray talked any shit about him while he was away in the bathroom.
Steve found the file and hit play.
"Now that Steve is gone, I wanted to ask you something," Ray asked.
Here we go
, Steve thought listening to the recording
. I knew he would trash talk me the first chance he got.
Steve felt vindicated in his assumption and listened closely to the recording.
"I don't know if you remember, but you told me that Zoe story several years back," Ray's voice had a bit of question in it.
"Yeah, So?" Tim replied.
