As she walked down the pebble and dirt path, it was hard for her to believe that it had been 23 years since they'd met. Her mind wandered aimlessly, back to her high school days as she pulled her fleece jacket together and zipped it up to her chin. Fall...the most beautiful time of year as far as she was concerned. Not only because the trees would show off with all their reds and oranges and yellows, making a virtual postcard right before your eyes, but because she'd met the love of her life during the fall. The cooler weather always stirred feelings deep within her soul that during summer months seemed to have been buried under thoughts of the "to-do" list that can only be accomplished during warm weather. She could hear only the sound of the wind whispering through the leaves on the trees and she could feel her nose starting to tingle from the crisp air. The sky was as blue as she'd ever seen it, with streaks of white and gray clouds taking up residence in the distance.
She stopped at the fence-post and as she watched a tiny rabbit scurry out of sight, her mind wandered completely back to that first kiss. An unforgettable kiss that left her weak in the knees, and her body longing for more than just the kiss. She could still remember how warm his breath felt next to her cheek in the cool night air and how soft his lips had been as they covered hers. Her senses had been overloaded by his scent, his taste and the feeling of his strong arms wrapped tightly around her as if he'd never let go. It was amazing to her that she still felt that way today. How many times had she wondered if other people ever got to feel that? Were there other people out there that knew without a doubt that they were with the person they were meant to be with? Did they love each other so much that each felt like they couldn't take a full breath if they weren't snuggled up beside one another? She hadn't heard of it often.
Breathing in the fresh clean scent of autumn, she heard soft, steady footsteps behind her and she turned in the direction of the sound. She couldn't help but smile as she saw her husband coming up the path with the thick red and yellow plaid blanket that they pulled out every time it started to get cold. She could also see the silver of the thermos tucked under his arm, which undoubtedly held hot chocolate to share.
She took the thermos from him to free up his arm and grabbed his hand tight as they continued up the path. They'd been together for so long, each was completely comfortable in the silence. She knew that this was where he felt the most "at home"...out here, surrounded by nature and she was thankful that she was the one he'd chosen to share it with.
When they came to the clearing at the top of the hill, he unfolded and snapped the blanket in the wind and placed it on the ground, smoothing out the wrinkles and patting a place for her to sit. As she lowered herself down, she couldn't help but notice how green his eyes were and how strong and rugged he looked out here in his element. It was one of the many things she loved about him. She loved that he made her feel tiny and safe. He'd scooted up behind her on the blanket and had her surrounded by his arms and legs, and as he pulled her tighter to him, she could feel his arousal. There was no doubt in her mind what he was thinking and she wondered if he realized how easily he could persuade her to take her clothes off and reveal her silky skin to him.
As they looked out over the horizon the sun was starting to set and was casting brilliant rays of orange and pink across the sky. There was no place she could imagine any better than where she was at that moment - wrapped up tight in his strong arms.
He started nibbling on her neck from behind and it was sending goose bumps all the way down her arms and spine. She could even feel her nipples start to harden beneath her blouse from his warm tongue swirling on her skin. His warm breath on her neck taking the chill out of the air. Reflexes made it hard to hold her head upright, as the slight tickle and warmth of his tongue kept making her head roll back toward the sky. He knew she was enjoying it because he kept hearing tiny gasps of pleasure leaving her lips. Her hands, which had been resting on his thighs, had started to squeeze his skin gently through his jeans. He knew her better than anyone ever had and even though he had just begun to kiss and nibble on her soft neck, he knew her juices were already flowing. He could slide her clothes off now and she'd be ready to feel him inside of her. He loved that about her, the intimacy and raw animal lust from the same woman.
After a few moments, his hands moved underneath her jacket and shirt and were exploring her breasts. As the fabric lifted from her body, she could feel a rush of cool air and the feel of it, like a feather on her skin, aroused her even more. The difference in temperature was invigorating on her skin. It made her even more conscious of the heat radiating from his warm hands. His fingers moved quickly over her nipples and he noticed they had hardened and he could imagine they were deep red from the stimulation. She was sure that the only thing that would have felt better at that moment in time was if he had taken her nipples in his mouth. He seemed to have read her mind as he lifted her to her knees and turned her to face him. She noticed again his rugged, handsome features as his eyes stared deep into her soul and she realized that he'd completely unzipped her jacket and unbuttoned her shirt while she'd been lost in his gaze. As each cold nipple reached his warm mouth she felt a soft moan escape from her lips. He loved that she was uninhibited and vocal. This always seemed to fuel his fire and his squeezing and sucking became more urgent as the moan lingered. While continuing to concentrate on his tongue circling her nipple, his hands slid down her sides to her pants, and with little effort he had them undone exposing her round bottom.
