Maybe it's one of my particular phobias. When I'm going to a job interview, I am suddenly very aware of all of the things that could go wrong along the way and ruin my preparations. I developed this scene with that fear in mind.
Episode 48: Too Wet for an Interview
Scene is a city sidewalk. It's rained recently. A girl in a colorful, light-colored sundress is walking on the sidewalk. The sundress is fairly modest; it comes down just below her knees. We see her dress splashed with muddy water β either a truck goes by in the street and splashes her or two boys racing on skateboards go down the sidewalk and she turns to get out of the way and loses her balance and lands in a muddy puddle. She's too shocked for words and looks like she's about to cry. Another girl dressed casually, jeans or shorts with a t-shirt, enters the picture. "Are you all right?"
The first girl shakes her head. "This can't be happening to me. I'm on my way for a job interview that I have to have, and now look at me. I'm a mess."
The second girl touches her arm. "Here, I can help you. My apartment's just a block away. What time's your interview because I can throw the dress in the washer."
"I've got an hour. I was going to stop and get lunch on the way. You say you'll help me?"
"Sure, hurry and follow me. By the way, my name's Beth Ann, and my friends call me Bethany."
"My name's Spring."
"Well, Spring, let's get you cleaned up"
The next scene is in the apartment and the two girls are in the living room. "I'll get a robe or something that you can wear while your dress is washing." Bethany goes into another room. Spring takes off the dress. She has on bikini panties and nothing else. Bethany comes back with a short robe and takes the dress into another room. We see Spring put on the robe and ties it loosely. Bethany reenters. "What kind of a job are you interviewing for?"
"It's a modeling job."
"Are you a model? That's what I do - sometimes."
"Well, I'm just starting. This sounded like an interesting job. I don't have the details yet but it's something about a travel show looking for two models to travel to different beaches. I think it's an internet channel."
"Oh yeah, I went there for an interview a couple of days ago, but it didn't work out."
"What happened?"
"Well, let me tell you what to expect; maybe you'll do better. First, they're looking for nude models."
Spring smiles. "I've got no problem with that. Is that why you didn't get the job?"
"No, I've done a little nude modeling already, so that doesn't bother me either. Next, they'll want to see your body because they don't want anyone with lots of tattoos."
