Prologue:
This new Billyslate Love Story is a Slowburn Lesbian Romance Tale. The storyline is somewhat different than most of my Literotica Stories, not having small children as an active theme.
As usual in my stories, minimal sexual activity takes place when children are home. Also, as a general rule, no alcohol is consumed when children are present.
The 6-Part Recovery Series commences in
Conflict
and
Intensely Unbearable Pain
. This
final story
ends with two of the primary characters realizing their
Lifelong Dream(s)
!
The story features an evolving
Friendship, Honor, Love, and Perseverance
when
Special Childhood Dreams
appear hopelessly lost.
Elaine (
Ela
) and Phyliss (
Phyl
), both 19 start their Fresher year at Georgetown University (
GU

The two girls briefly appear near the end of
Recovery 04
, so it's best to read this part first, to fully understand and enjoy this story,
Recovery 05
.
All descriptive sex is lesbian, with young ladies aged 19 or older. Some explicit lesbian sexual activities may feature a strong, but loving woman as the definite
TOP
controlling the action, along with soft and or firm sensual spanking.

LANIE
POV
Our Georgetown University
Lady Hoyas
basketball team builds a commanding lead of 54 to 40. So, at this point, the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks (
MES
) can't get back in the game and win.
Our older Varsity players don't want to play clean up (
Garbage Ball
) in the 4th quarter, so I push Coach J. to send in
Elaine Riva Wells
, and
Phyllis Marie Booth
, 5' 3" walk-ons. The girls are dedicated team players, practicing hard every single day.
Elaine and Phyliss are great ball handlers and defensive players, but their height limits them. For example, most of our players such as Ataliya, myself, and Terri are between 5' 10" and 6' 4".
Quickly corralling them, I say you two are going in to seal our win, with ball control the key at this late stage.
Wind the 30-second clock down to 6 when possible, then look to pass for the easy layup or take a short jumper from the top of the lane.
Also, keep our normal half-court 2-3 zone defense until the game's over.
Late in the game, Coach J. will empty the bench bringing in other subs, so, we expect you guys to control the game tempo and floor flawlessly.
They're a bit nervous never expecting to play tonight, our first game this year. But quickly settle down, playing a terrific turnover-free, ball-control 4th quarter.
The final score is 61-50, a solid win for us, Elaine and Phyliss giving the team great depth in the guard position. The two girls are
sky high
on adrenalin running over hugging Ataliya and me first, then the other team members.
Donna congratulates the two Shorty(s) as she calls them. "Elaine and Phyliss, you gals played an outstanding 4
th
quarter. We're so happy and proud, and will truly need your steady play on our
NCAA DIV I
Women's Championship run!"
Carl gives me a sideways look, "Lanie, great move sending the Shorty(s) in. They have sure hands and good ball instincts, which we'll need in tight games.
"I'm so proud of your and Ataliya's unselfishness in helping the newer gals. With your devotion Lanie, it's like having a playing coach on the floor."
I nod at Donna, "We promise you an NCAA Ring, and by golly, we are getting it for you.
Elaine
and
Phyliss
have mile-wide smiles from your
atta-gal
for their 4
th
quarter play. Teamwork wins Championships, and you've ensured it from the two of them.
Donna, Ataliya, and I keep practicing extra time with Elaine and Phyliss daily, as they're now an integral part of our team. Carl has us focus on their defense and ball handling which is critical late in close games.
The two gals' nickname is the
Shorty's
, which they proudly wear. I tease them, "Elaine and Phyliss, you're no longer bench warmers," playing for at least 1-quarter in each of our eleven games.
I think boy, Coach J. is brilliant in saving basketball scholarships for a couple of years since she'll now use one for walk-ons Elaine/Phyliss (
Shorty's
).
They're currently on Academic Scholarships, so each shorty only needs a 1/2 Athletic Scholarship.

REFLECTIONS 14 YEARS AGO:
PHYL
POV
We moved to this new VA Beach community, and I'm starting K2 in a week. This is my second year in Kindergarten, and I'm lost not knowing anyone in this new area, where I previously attended a different school.
Mom's holding my hand in the hallway when this cute-smiling little girl walks over and says. "Hi my name is Elaine, but you can call me
Ela
!"
Me, grinning, "Hi Ela, I'm Phyliss and you can call me
Phyl
", and just like that, we become best friends.
We have so much fun playing together in K2, that our parents become good friends. At that time Ela and I were an only child(s), but each of us now has a younger brother.
Our friendship blossoms over time and before we know it, Ela and I move on from primary school to Jr. High. Although we're both on the shorter side, we love basketball from playing around all the time with our Dads.
So, we try out for the girls' team and will play in home games. Technically, we're extras, only allowed to suit up for home games, playing for 2 or 3 minutes. Both the Jr. High and High school coaches ignore us much of the time as if we don't exist.
This is our basketball experience for six years until graduating from High School. We're competitors and never quit trying, but our parents see our hurt in being rejected because of our shortness.
***
While never giving up on our quest to play team basketball, Ela and I are also great academic students. We maintain A-averages (
4.00 GPA
) in all our Junior and Senior High School courses. Our SAT scores are a perfect 1600, so Ela and I are offered full academic scholarships at several universities.
At this point, we will officially use our special nicknames,
Ela
and
Phyl
for this story. Our parents feel this is cute and fully agree if we're happy with the change.
We narrow our potential college list down to Duke, Notre Dame, Georgetown University (
GU
), and the University of Southern Cal (
USC
).
These prestigious colleges are located on the East Coast, West Coast, and Midwest. Ela and I accept Georgetown's (
GU
) scholarship because it's a great school fairly close to our home in VA Beach, which pleases our parents.
But seriously, in the deepest recesses of our minds, me and Ela, still have a dream of playing college basketball. So, we rule out,
DUKE
-
USC
-
ND
as being too competitive for us to even stand a chance of making the team.
