--- MAKING KIARA SQUIRT ---
"It's soooo big," Kiara's eyes practically glowed.
"Told you," Vanessa grinned. "Lick it before it dribbles on your hand, though."
The brunette gave her friend a glaring look. "Obviously." As her tongue ran across the smooth surface, she practically moaned with delight, and Vanessa observed the smaller girl with an impish smile.
"Delicious, right?"
"Mmhmm!" Kiara beamed up at her friend and worked her tongue some more. "One of the best I've ever had."
Vanessa leaned back on the wooden bench, the wind tousling her scarlet locks as she relished in watching her friend - a rare sense of satisfaction washing over her. Kiara seemed to thoroughly enjoy her ice cream cone, and the trip had been worth the small detour. Nevertheless, the inner turmoil was causing her mind to fuzz with an odd sense of anxiety too. Today was the day she was going to tell her - her best friend, Kiara, whom she had known since they were seven - how she truly felt about her. The petite brunette didn't know it, but as far as Vanessa was concerned, they were on a date. One that she had been building up the nerve to follow through with for months.
"How come you're not having one?" Kiara asked between licks, cocking her head curiously. "Since when do you decline an opportunity to stuff yourself silly?"
The redhead sighed wistfully. "I guess.. I feel a bit strange today."
Kiara's face instantly took on a mask of worry, which tugged at the taller woman's heartstrings. "Strange in what way?" she prodded gently. "Not feeling sick or anything, are you?" She brought her free hand to rest on Vanessa's forehead to check her temperature before she even had a chance to respond. Her feather-light touch felt strangely alluring on this particular occasion.
"No.. I'm fine."
"Really? You do seem rather warm. Perhaps we should reschedule and-"
"Kiki, stop." She swallowed hard as her friend pulled back and looked at her inquisitively. "I'm fine. Honest. It's just..." She rubbed the back of her neck and avoided Kiara's eyes, focusing instead on the bright-blue sky above them. The way the sun was peeking through the leaves of the willow tree, illuminating Kiara's already radiant features; casting an almost ethereal glow around her best friend's hair - it made her look like an angel with a golden halo. Vanessa was struck by the urge to just reach out and touch her soft cheeks - cup them in both of her hands - and just stare deep into those luminous eyes, confessing her true feelings. But she couldn't do it. Not there, not then.
"Vanessa?" Kiara interrupted softly, voice tinged with worry. "What is it?"
"I promise I'll tell you later, okay? Double promise." Vanessa tried to sound casual, but in truth, she wasn't sure how well she managed to sell that impression. Therefore, a change of topic seemed in order. "You know, I think you'll be delighted about where we're heading next! It's the cutest little second-hand store, but they also have a large collection of antiques. Come on, finish up your ice cream, then let's go!"
Shopping was an activity many women enjoyed, but few more so than Kiara. Nevertheless, she rarely actually bought anything. To her, it was all about the hunt for a good bargain - or discovering a secret treasure. Something she didn't even know she needed, yet fell in love with once she had it in her hands. If the item was vintage - had a story to it, real or imaginary - even better!
"After you, princess," Vanessa said as she held open the door to Madame Grandeline's second-hand boutique, bowing her head slightly and sweeping her arm outward with exaggerate flourish and flair.
"Why thank you, kind lady" Kiara replied with a fake, haughty accent that was both cute and ridiculous at the same time, and the duo stepped inside of the quaint little store. The air was heavy with the scent of lavender oil, and the store was so packed with knick-knacks and bric-a-brac that Kiara could barely move. Yet there was an odd sort of serenity to the chaos. It felt mysterious, as if the whole store was full of surprises just waiting to be discovered.
As they navigated the cluttered space, Kiara checked out just about everything she could get her little hands on; old music boxes, china dolls, crystal liquor glasses and vintage handbags. Vanessa, meanwhile, checked out Kiara's shapely buttocks, enjoying the way her skirt swayed with the brunette's movements - how it brushed over her firm behind, teasingly and sensually. She followed close behind like a loving shadow, smiling as she observed Kiara in her element. A warm glow of happiness spread through her chest as she took in the adorable sight of her best friend, squealing and cooing over one item after another as she laid eyes on them. "Look at this!" she would exclaim, showing off some unique piece of art or other to Vanessa, before putting it back on the shelf and moving on to the next.
A spectacled lady of considerable age approached them eventually, almost gliding up to them in a velvety black dress that looked far too fancy for a regular mid-morning at work. Her platinum hair had been styled into a poofy updo and she wore enough jewels around her neck to rival royalty. "Welcome to my humble boutique, dearies!" Madame Grandeline gushed. "The prices are negotiable. I want these precious things to find good homes, where they will be appreciated. Let me know what you like." The old lady clasped her hands together enthusiastically and her bracelets jingled together. Once she had said her piece, she didn't hover - she simply flitted off again.
Five minutes later, Kiara found it. A glass figurine, about eight inches tall and depicting a cherubim flower fairy, gloriously translucent and shimmering in every colour imaginable. She turned toward Vanessa with a wistful expression in her honeyed eyes. "It's beautiful, Nessa!" she breathed. Her small hand reached out and caressed the surface of the glass object; delicate fingers tracing over each flower petal, admiring their exquisite details. "I love it."
Vanessa recognized the subtle notes of longing that entered Kiara's voice and knew this was the item she would purchase, no matter the price. "Then I'll buy it for you," Vanessa offered with a smile, unable to resist how cute Kiara was being. At just over five feet on her tippy-toes, the girl stood barely level with her chin - so it felt quite natural for Vanessa to place a kiss on top of her head while holding onto her friend, causing Kiara to glance up at her with a giddy look on her face, pink hue spreading across her cheeks.
"You don't have to do that.." she began, but Vanessa's expression said it all. Evidently, she was in the mood to spoil her friend, and no amount of protest would change her mind. "You already paid for the ice cream, and you didn't even have one yourself." Still in each other's arms, Kiara's eyes communicated both her thankfulness and her guilt - but after a few seconds, she sighed, and squeezed Vanessa tightly. "Thank you. You are too good to me," she insisted. Her breath held on to a clear hint of vanilla.
"Are you two a couple?" the old lady piqued curiously as the two younger women approached the register, handing over the glass figurine. Madame Grandeline leaned forward with her elbows resting on the counter, beady eyes scrutinizing them intently. "I offer a discount to lovers." There was something wild in her eyes.
"Oh, uhm.. Yes," Kiara stuttered, as Vanessa's arm casually slipped around her waist. But the guilt of their dishonesty ignited a radiant blush on Kiara's cheeks, and she quickly tried to back-track. "I mean.. Kind of.."
"Prove it," the old lady challenged with a wicked smile, placing the glass object into a sturdy paper bag. "Kiss, and if you can convince me there's true love there, I'll let you have it for half the price." She chuckled roguishly and gestured to them. "Go on!"
Kiara's blush intensified, her cheeks nearly vermilion - opening her mouth, but then closed it again, at a loss for words. The old woman was surely off her rockers. What kind of indecent proposal had she just heard? Still, the lady didn't seem to be joking, as evidenced by the gleam in her eyes that would not waiver.
A whisper from Vanessa. "Kiki, let's do it.." The eyes she gave the smaller girl could only be described as pleading, and so much more. Kiara stared up into her captivating emerald depths, seemingly unsure of how she felt about what was going on - but nevertheless, a shaky nod was all it took to to make Vanessa bring one hand up to cup Kiara's chin. A second later, lips met lips.
Soft and tender. Chapstick with a hint of cinnamon. Eager fingers tucking loose strands of hair behind Kiara's ear. Vanessa held onto the smaller girl in a firm but careful embrace - circular motions stroking across the sensitive skin on the nape of Kiara's neck while their tongues greeted one another. For each second, the fire stoked, and embers turned into full-fledged flames burning brightly. The slightest of whimpers escaped Kiara's throat, and it embarrassed her so much that she pulled away and hid her face in Vanessa's shoulder, the redhead's fingertips still lingering in her hair.
"A-Ha," Madame Grandeline said, as if she was a scientist that had made some great discovery. "So that is how it is! True love, indeed. A discount you shall have!" She grinned gleefully as she accepted Vanessa's credit card. The transaction done, she waved them out of her store without another word.
