Chapter 1, Forbidden Knowledge
Eve sat beside a small stream, basking in the rays of the sun. She loved nothing more than to lay naked and enjoy the warmth of their lord. Each day, she came to the same place to lie down, dozing off in the afternoon rays.
However, today would be her last day to enjoy such innocent, air-headed, fun.
—
A twig snapped, and Eve's eyes opened. "Adam, is that you?"
The bushes near the stream rustled, and she picked a pair of feet crunching through the underbrush. Only Adam and herself walked on two feet, so she thought it must have been him, but Eve furrowed her brow at the noise.
She prided herself on memorizing every creature within the garden. She could name them from the sound of their breathing alone. The snort of a pig differed from the huff of a moose, after all. Even the shape of their bodies as they walked through the underbrush created distinct sounds.
Eve once made a game out of it. She would close her eyes and practice naming the surrounding animals. It was one of the few ways to entertain herself in the Garden, and she played it often, training her ears to the sounds of living creatures. However, it was because of this game that she instantly understood something was off.
The footsteps were lighter than Adams.
"Apologies to disappoint." A deep, sultry voice emanated from the bushes, and a dark figure stepped out of the tree line. "I'm not Adam."
The figure wore clothes, similar to the angels, but the garments were made of leather rather than cloth. The figure's hair was dark, too, and it blended in with her black-tanned clothes. As the figure stood in the shade, Eve had to squint her eyes to make out their full appearance.
Up top, they wore a vest that exposed their shoulders and hid a modest bosom. Down below, they had a skirt that stopped only a few inches down her thighs, and it exposed much of her long legs before ending in a pair of wooden sandals.
Of course, Eve had no name for the garments, or even why the other woman was wearing such things. Instead, she tilted her head at the appearance of the figure curiously.
"Who are you?" Eve stood up and she approached the figure. Without asking permission, she patted her down her chest, confirming mounds beneath the leathery material. It was smaller than Eve's own chest, but definitely present.
Next, she lifted the stranger's arm and gave it a sniff. Unlike Eve's own, it was smooth beneath her arm, and it smelled faintly of flowers.
Lastly, she patted down the curves of the other woman, tracing down her hips and confirming the shape of her body. She even pushed up against the valley between the other woman's legs, confirming the lack of a penis.
(This definitely isn't Adam...) Eve thought to herself.
(She's like me, but different.)
"You're an awfully curious one, aren't you?" The other woman smiled at the probing touches. "It's best to buy me dinner first though, you know?"
"Hm?" Eve tilted her head at the woman's words, but something about them stuck out to her.
(Curious? What's that?)
All her life, she'd had answers to all her questions. If she wanted to know the name of an animal, Adam would tell her. If she wanted to know what was on the other side of a mountain, she could go look. This was why she resorted to games like guessing animals with her eyes closed—there was nothing else to do. However, for the figure in front of her, Eve had no straightforward answers, and it made the gears in her head churn.
Just staring at the other woman caused a dozen questions to appear in her mind. She never had so many questions before. Everything—from the strange clothes, to the smell of her skin—it sent her thoughts spinning in confusion.
When she laid by the stream, the warm sun seemed to wash away all her thoughts. All she wanted to do was bask in the mid-afternoon heat and enjoy the light against her skin. This woman gave her the complete opposite of that feeling, yet Eve couldn't look away.
It felt like a fog was slowly clearing from her mind. The outfit, the peculiar scent the woman carried, even the strangely flat chest (compared to her own bosom). It all made Eve want to know more about this stranger.
"Uhm..." Eve took the other woman's hands and clasped them in hers. "Won't you tell me more about yourself?"
Her heart pounded in excitement. Eve knew she couldn't let this moment pass by. Whoever this was, wherever they came from—she needed to learn more about them. They surely came from outside the Garden, and the idea sent Eve's imagination churning.
(I've never felt this before. Is this what she means by 'curious'?)
Chapter 2, Forbidden Fruit
"I see, so you're Adam's sister?" Eve asked.
She sat beside the other woman, Lilith, on a shady rock. Her body was warm, like the sun, and Eve snuggled close to her, placing one hand on the woman's leather-bound chest.
Lilith placed one hand around Eve's shoulder, squeezing her tight. "That's right, I was created at the same time as Adam, to be his wife. It was a position not too far from your own, in fact."
"So what happened? Why am I his wife now?" Eve's eyes glimmered as she stared up at the dark-haired woman, waiting with bated breath for the next part of the story.
"You see, I refused to follow Adam's orders." Lilith averted her gaze, and her expression grew dark. "I was cast out of the garden and labeled a mistake."
"You refused Adam..?" Eve's brow furrowed at the words. "Is that possible? A wife must follow the commands of her husband, you know?"
"I know..." Lilith turned towards her and smiled. Reaching forward, she took one of Eve's brown locks of hair and twirled it around one finger.
Their hair was only one of their many differences. Where Eve's hair was long and brown, Lilith had short black hair, like it had been cut off crudely. However, as Lilith played with her hair, it made Eve's heart skip a beat. The differences between them only made her more excited to learn more about the other woman.
"What's it like? Outside the Garden, that is."
"Ah, well..." Lilith gave a mysterious smile. "The outside is a dangerous place. There are many risks, but there are also many things to learn. I discovered secrets beyond my wildest dreams after being cast out."
"Please, tell me more." Eve tightened her arms around Lilith, staring up at the other woman.
The shade was cold, but Lilith's body was warm. She would gladly lay here all day if it meant she could keep hearing Lilith's story and enjoy the heat of her body.
"I don't think you'd understand if I just used my words... I'd have to show you," Lilith said, but her smile wavered and she looked away. "I don't know if you're ready for such knowledge, though."
"I am ready!" Eve pushed her face into Lilith's, forcing her to look at her. "Please, I want to know."
"Are you sure? There's no going back after I show you this..."
