"Bitch, I know you're cheating on me," Sholonda Odoms said, and with that, she grabbed Cheryl Browne and slapped her hard across the face. Cheryl blinked and touched her face where Sholonda struck her. Tall, dark-skinned, curvy yet muscular and athletic, Sholonda could do some damage when she put her mind to it. Cheryl was not as physically gifted as her partner. The tall, slender young black woman winced in pain, and sighed. No bones about it, Sholonda is stronger than Cheryl will ever be, even though they were both tall, fit women.
Sholonda glowered at Cheryl, who stood there, all but cowed into submission. Sholonda looked Cheryl up and down, and smirked when she saw the look of surrender on her lover's face. Sholonda had Cheryl right where she wanted, and they both knew it. Cheryl has fought back in the past when Sholonda came after her, and she always lost. Sholonda is a police officer, trained in takedown methods and she knows how to overpower another woman during physical combat. Cheryl used to play basketball for the University of Windsor and can handle herself usually, but she's outmatched against Sholonda...
"I am not cheating on you, Sholonda, Wilma is just a friend from work and besides, she's straight," Cheryl said meekly. Sholonda paused to consider that. Earlier, when Sholonda picked up Cheryl in the parking lot of Detroit's Home Depot, she made eye contact with Wilma and Wilma didn't register as lesbian or bisexual. Women who have sex with other women spot each other through a very specific type of eye contact. Being a lesbian isn't about having short hair, adopting masculine swagger or wearing male clothing. It's a whole lot deeper than that...
"If I ever catch you with another bitch, you're toast," Sholonda said after she finally let go of Cheryl. Sholonda went to the kitchen, grabbed a Heineken from the fridge and plopped down on the couch. On the TV news, the pretty blonde female reporter from Detroit Evening News spoke about a major drug bust at the Detroit/Windsor border involving American federal agents and the Canadian Border Services agency. Sholonda, still wearing her Detroit Metro Police department uniform, allowed herself a smile. Sholonda's older brother Joseph Odoms, who works for the Feds, was part of the bust and would probably get promoted as a result.
"I made you some food," Cheryl said, and Sholonda looked up from the TV and shrugged. Cheryl went to the kitchen and grabbed the white rice, brown bean sauce, curry chicken and fried plantains she'd prepared. Cheryl, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, is quite proud of her Jamaican roots and loves to cook Caribbean dishes. Sholonda allowed herself a smile as Cheryl approached her with the plates of sweet-smelling food. As Cheryl set the plates down on the living room table, Sholonda admired the tall gal's thick ass. Cheryl flinched as Sholonda grabbed her big butt and gave it a squeeze.
"Thanks for the food, thickness," Sholonda said, laughing. Cheryl finished setting the food on the table and sat down. Cheryl watched the news for a bit and frowned. It was ten o'clock and her favorite show, Fear The Walking Dead, was about to start. In last week's episode, Madison and her son Nick and daughter Alicia finally made it to the Ranch, and started integrating into the redneck survivalist community. Cheryl couldn't wait to see what came next. The television series Fear The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead are Cheryl's favorites and she cannot get enough of them. The fact that they have diverse casts and queer characters also rock Cheryl's world...
"Sholonda, my show is about to come on," Cheryl said meekly, and Sholonda frowned, and paused. There was more stuff on the news. Detroit's Mayor was talking about urban renewal. More boring shit. Sholonda changed the channel to AMC, much to Cheryl's relief. Turning up the volume, Sholonda grabbed the food and began to eat, chewing loudly. Cheryl ignored the noises Sholonda made and focused on watching TV. Cheryl wondered what had become of her favorite Walking Dead universe character, the tall and handsome, sexually ambiguous black man known as Victor Strand. Scores one for queer representation, albeit in a villainous way...
