Candles lit. Red wine ready. Lasagna in the oven, bubbling away. Vivian checked off all the boxes on her mental to-do list. Luna would be here any minute, and she wanted everything to be perfect.
Vivian paced the floor, peeked at their dinner through the oven door - damn it, she should've cleaned that! - and then there was a knock at the door. She raced to it, heart pounding, and opened the door to find
her.
Silver hair, glowing blue eyes, and ruby lips over pearly white, razor-sharp teeth. Vivian stared for a moment, spellbound, but Luna's smile fell and she withdrew.
"The werewolf curse is gone. I promise," she said. "But some things didn't go away."
"I think they suit you. Come in."
Luna stepped inside, admiring Vivian's apartment as she peeled off her gloves. "I don't think I ever got a chance to see your place. It's lovely."
"Thank you, love." Vivian helped Luna out of her coat as she slipped off her shoes. She was relieved to see that Luna was without her fur and claws. Instead, her fair skin and short, manicured black nails made a return.
"Oh, what are you making? It smells so good."
"Lasagna. Old family recipe. I'm sure you're hungry after that trip."
"You have no
idea!
" Luna moved to the kitchen, bending down to look through the oven door. Vivian mentally kicked herself again, but another look at Luna stopped those thoughts. In spite of the cold she wore a short, tight black dress with striped stockings. And at the angle Luna bent down, Vivian could just see where the tops of her stockings met her pale skin.
Luna glanced sideways at Vivian, knowing
exactly
what she was looking at, and smirked. "It looks delicious."
And so do you.
But Vivian bit her tongue.
"So, how much longer?"
"About an hour. It just went in the oven."
"Good." Luna rushed back to Vivian and pulled her into a long, deep kiss. Vivian being a head taller, Luna had to stand on her toes and throw her arms around Vivian's neck to reach.
Vivian's hand slid down to Luna's hips and pulled her closer. Their lips and tongue explored each other for what felt like an eternity, and their reunion finally felt real.
Luna took Vivian's hand and pulled her away from the oven. "Now, show me your bedroom."
Vivian chuckled. "Yes, ma'am." She led Luna down the hall, opened the door at the end, and turned on a singular dimmed light. At the center was a large white canopy bed with a white faux fur blanket on top. Luna had her dark, vintage aesthetic, but Vivian liked things white and modern. They would make for interesting interior design choices if they shared living space in the future.
