I was sitting in the snow with my best friend Ariana; We were basking in the glory of our well-fought victorious battle against Jourmag. We had finally defeated the dragon after months of searching and a vicious battle lasting days. Both of us were sitting in silence, trying to catch our breaths and taking in the beauty of the area now that the threat of the dragon was gone. She had been my best friend and partner in battle for as long as I could remember. I could not ask for a more capable ranger - she was the best I knew.
"Well Reija," she addressed me, "I suppose we should get back to Lion's Arch and get some rest."
"That sounds like a great idea," I replied. "I'll meet you later tonight?"
She smiled, "Of course."
It was much later that night when she found me at the pub. I had quite a gathering of townsfolk around me, all of them eager to hear about the epic battle. I saw her walk in and smile at me shyly. I brushed off all the men who had been buying me ale and wine all night, probably trying to get me in their bed that night. She was not one to get drunk so I suggested we take a walk.
We began walking under the full moon, speaking about life, love and other things that we did not usually get to talk about. Usually we were very unlucky in love. After telling me about her most recent failed relationship, she said, "Sometimes I think I should be dating women!" We both laughed at that.
Her statement really got to me though. None of the men I ever were with seemed to measure up. For a long time I had been curious about what it would be like to make love to a woman, specifically Ariana. With her everything came naturally and I never felt like we had to play games to charm each other. And we were always happy just being together even if we weren't talking.
