The next morning after homeroom, the young women headed outside to the stables. The other girls were happy and chatting, but Liza was nervous and quiet. She had never ridden a horse before. But, the excitement was contagious, and her mood improved quickly.
The weather was perfect: a beautiful, clear, cool fall day. Though her muscles hurt from her ordeal the day before, the short walk was just what she needed. Her young legs recovered quickly, and she had no trouble keeping up with the other girls.
She listened as they chatted about horses, riding, and the cute boys who worked at the stables. Mrs. "B", short for Baskins, was waiting for them. She was one of the only teachers at Royal Oaks who wasn't a nun. She welcomed the girls and made special mention of the "new faces", including Liza.
Mrs. "B" led the girls into the tack room and helped them pick out saddles and other gear. A few of the girls seemed to know what to do and were already hurrying out to the stable, claiming their favorite horse Liza guessed. She didn't know enough about horses to have a favorite, so she didn't mind lagging behind a bit. Jen stayed with her, helping with the tack.
Each pair of girls would share a horse, and take turns riding. Liza picked up the saddle - it was heavier than she expected - and followed Jen to the stable. Linda and Rachel, two of the more popular girls, already had their horse saddled and were leading her out to the ring. Him, she corrected herself, after seeing the other girls snickering and pointing at his enormous member.
