Dear Diary, I got to meet this girl named Wren today. She seems really cool, she's a little older than me but she's all gothic and kinda spooky. She and I met at the library, it turns out she's a little bit of a sucker for romance novels just like me! We had a long chat about books which turned into a talk about our lives and now we're kinda friends. It was nice to be able to talk to someone about this stuff. I know David will listen to me all day when I bring it up with him, but I know he's more just enjoying the sound of me talking than really taking it in. Though I do think it's sweet the way he gets excited just because I'm excited. Still, having in-depth conversations about the characters and the books are so refreshing to have in person instead of just arguing about it on internet message boards. I'm hoping I get to see her come by the library again tomorrow.
Aside from meeting her, David and I had a good day today. Once I was done volunteering, we got to enjoy some takeout together and hang out. It was nice to spend some comfy time together just cuddling on the couch and watching funny movies. When it got boring, we even made out a little. We didn't go too much farther than that, but it was still really nice to be able to have moments where we could laugh together and other moments where I could feel his hands touching me. I know he's mostly just trying to respect the fact that I'm still a virgin, but sometimes I don't think it would hurt to go a little bit farther, you know? I don't know how to bring it up to him though, I know he's just doing it out of respect. I wish it was easier for me to say what I wanted to him but I don't want him to think I want to move too fast or something.

Dear Diary, Wren came back today to give me her phone number! Apparently when she left yesterday as the library was closing, she had forgotten to give it to me so now we're texting and we've been talking all day. She's so cool, she has all these really neat tattoos and the way she does her makeup is so pretty. I told her that too, and she said she would be happy to teach me how to do it sometime. We're thinking of doing a sleepover this coming weekend, I haven't ever really had one so I'm really looking forward to it! David seems happy for me too, especially because he'll be going out of town for work this weekend so he's glad I won't have to be all by myself again. We're still trying to work on a proper date night but it's going to take a little while to figure out with his work schedule being so unpredictable.
It's been a little frustrating to be honest, I keep having to take care of myself when I would rather he do it but he's either not here or too tired. I won't make him, but I don't think toys are really doing it as well as he does. I'm sure he'd be happy to hear that too, but I don't want him to push himself too hard. I think the age difference kind of bothers him a little more than he's willing to admit to me. I don't think he's THAT much older than me but I guess he sees it differently. I still remember once on my birthday we spent time making out and touching each other, it was the first time he's put his fingers inside of me and it felt really, really good. I miss that night a lot, it feels like he's really reluctant to do anything beyond that, aside from us doing oral every now and again. I know I should just ask him for what I want but it's... difficult to put it into words in front of him. Especially when I know he's spent a lot of long hours at his job and he might not be up for it.

Dear Diary, we're having the sleepover tonight! Wren said she's looking forward to teaching me how to do my makeup and I'm really excited to learn. She texted me the address to her apartment and sent me pictures of it. It's a bit tamer in terms of decoration than I thought, but she also has this altar thing? I've seen one for the virgin Mary and stuff, but hers was very different. It was all black and the statue was one I didn't recognize. She said she works with a different kind of goddess for her witchcraft. I won't deny that makes me a little nervous to know she believes in stuff like that, but it's also kind of cool? Like, it still feels weird to believe that magic is real and she tries to make potions and spells and stuff, but it's also kind of cool to know she does all that stuff. I've only ever known about Christian stuff, so we got to talking about it some more. It really seems kind of cool, and I said I was fine with her giving me a talesman talisman for protection when I come over. I'll even get to see how she makes it, she said it would be good for me to be there so I can add some essence of myself to it. I just hope she won't ask me for something extreme like blood or something...
She also warned me that she has a roommate so I'll be meeting him too. I hope they're nice. I wonder if they're gothic like her or if they do magic stuff also. It would make sense I think? David and I also had our goodbyes today, he promised to bring me back souvenirs once his time off is over. I've been thinking that maybe I can leave my diary out where he can read it, maybe that could kind of subtly get the message across that I want to do more with him, but that's only going to work if he wants to read my diary. I don't know if he's the snooping type, and then again if he is would I want to be with him? Ugh, these questions are so stupid and complicated, I'm just gonna finish packing my overnight bag and get going.
Alexis sighed to herself as she came up to the door, seeing the pentacle made of wooden sticks hanging on the front door. She double-checked the apartment number on her phone before she confirmed it and reached up to knock. It took a moment before the door was answered but rather than the tall, curvaceous goth girl she had met earlier that week, it was a taller black man whose skin had a deep chocolate color. He looked her up and down and Alexis got a bit nervous as he asked, "Can I help you?" In a deep, gravelly voice.
"Um... does Wren live here?" Alexis asked.
"Oh yeah, you're Alexis?" He asked, and when she nodded, he opened the door more to let her in, "Yeah, come on. She's just dealing with some stuff she'll be done in a sec."
"Thank you," Alexis stepped inside and looked around the apartment. The pictures matched up well with what she saw before her now, darker turquoise walls housing black leather furniture in the form of a couch facing a small tv that hung on a wall. On a wall perpendicular to them was the altar that Alexis had seen before, the candles no longer lit and a six-armed woman statue in the middle of it standing over an empty plate. The ground under her shoes looked plushily carpeted and she could see a little space by the door where there were a few pairs of black boots alongside a pair of athletic sneakers, all underneath a space where a black-framed mirror showed her convex reflection back to her. She looked so small compared to the image of the black man next to her in its shining surface. "Should I take my shoes off?"
"If you want," The man shrugged, heading over to the couch and getting comfortable as he settled in to keep watching whatever he had paused on TV. He wore a tank top and basketball shorts, seeming very comfortable already as he continued to watch the show. Alexis figured the polite thing to do would be to follow the traditions of the house and took off her shoes next to the boots, lining them up carefully before she stepped further into the apartment. She could make out the small kitchen and saw the carpeted floors didn't continue into the space as it was lined with linoleum floors. It looked clean, but also somewhat cluttered with cereal boxes and other snacks lining the back of the counter in different spaces along the wall.
"So, uh," Alexis stepped over to the couch, "I guess you're Wren's roommate?"
"Yeah," He smiled at her, holding out his hand, "I'm Jamal."
"Alexis," She shook his hand with a polite smile, feeling the rough skin of his darker palm contrasting with her softer hand, "Nice to meet you." She caught a bit of a whiff of a musky scent as he pulled his hand back.
"You too," He said, "Sorry if I stink a little, I just got back from the gym." He was a very well-sculpted man the more she looked at him, seeing the muscles in his arms and shoulders and in his chest too.
"Oh no, you're fine." Alexis said, glancing around the apartment. She saw a hallway leading down to a set of three doors. Wren had mentioned it was a 2-bed, 1-bath apartment that she was sharing with him. Before she had a chance to ask where Wren was, the door at the end of the hallway opened and she could see her finally. She was just as cool looking as she remembered, dark hair cut into a sharp bob that framed her face so nicely, walking out in a black sweatshirt with the name of a band she didn't recognize on it, as well as a pair of comfortable black sweatpants that hung around her body loosely. It looked frumpy, but it was easy to tell that she was hiding a very curvy body under the fabric with the way it hugged around her hips and generous chest. She still wore that black lipstick and thick eyeliner around her blue eyes. She smirked as she made contact with Alexis.
She was mousy in comparison, wearing a latte-colored sweater and a brown and green tartan skirt as she stood there in her knee-high socks, looking ever like the perfect image of a student. "Hi Wren!" She beamed when she saw the older girl. "Your roommate Jamal let me in."
