Silence, wind, fog, sand, and emptiness, it was cold. Ash flew in the wind, her long blond hair blew in the wind, she kept walking, and she needed to find someplace safe.
In the desolation of her mind, it was all gone all the memories and thirst and fatigue won the battle.
As she dragged her feet across the sand, she needed to find hope in this wasteland...the screams came from afar. Still, they felt so near as she turned around her knees gave in, and she fell to the ground.
Wake up! WAKE UP!
With her open eyes, she turned on her back, her eyes adjusting to the dim light around her.
"There you are! I was beginning to think you were gone!" his voice slammed her back to reality as she moved around.
A few seconds later, she was sitting still on the sofa with her full attention on him.
He offered her a cold bottle of water, and she drank.
"Great, now that we are all settled. You will tell me what I want to know, yes?" He said.
She wanted to tell him to go to hell, but this time. She would stay silent.
"Come on, Luna, I thought we were friends! Now tell me everything you know about Kai Kodecck." He said in a somber tone.
~~~~~~~~~
She was running out of money.
She had tried searching for Luna since the night Hugo had told her.
Luna was gone, but it seemed she was gone in the wind.
The last two months Kai had been doing everything she could to not end up on the streets again.
The money he had given her had run out mostly on rent, and she had desperately been looking for a job but with a criminal record it was next to impossible in this city to find something, especially if one did not want to take off their clothes every night.
Kai was getting desperate, now that Luna was gone she needed to find a way to survive, but nothing seemed to come.
She was days away from getting kicked out of the miserable apartment she had gotten.
She had been walking around for what seemed like hours in the heat.
Not only that, but she had been almost everywhere just this morning and ran out of money for food.
Kai toke out her very last option and dialed the number on the card.
"Hello?" his voice seemed hurried.
"Is Kai the woman from..." She said.
"Hello, Kai, delighted to hear from you, could I be of service?" he said.
"Yes, if we were to meet again? How much would you be willing to offer?" she asked, she was completely humiliating herself, the gravity of her situation drove her to this point.
"I see things have gotten dire, we should meet. How about I send you the address to a restaurant where we could meet, does that sound alright?" he answered.
"Yes, yes it does. Is tomorrow ok for you?" she asked.
" Tonight would be best," he said.
"Alright, tonight it is, around 9?" she said.
"That would be perfect, see you then" and with that, he ended the call.
~~~~~~~~
"Why do you insist on misbehaving," he said "I am getting tired of playing this game with you, I know you haven't told me all you know"
"I swear that's all I know about her! We meet in prison, she didn't tell me that much about herself, and all that she did tell me, I have already told you!" she said shivering inside the bathtub filled with ice. "Just let me go, please!"
"Dear, Luna you never listen, do you? I told you I would let you go when you tell me all I need to know about her, now tell me what I want to know and stop lying to me" he said forcefully holding her down.
"But! I don't know anything else about her, I swear!" Luna yelled.
She as was fighting hard as he held her head under ice water.

Kai stared at herself in the mirror, she looked pretty. It had been years since she had gotten dressed up like this, she was wearing a blue floral dress with a jean jacket, a pair of hoop earrings and some flats.
She almost looked like she was going to church, and not to meet a wealthy man desperate for help. She applied her lipstick, added some perfume, and walked out the door.
As she waited in the restaurant, her mind had already known how she was going to execute the plan. All she needed to do was get inside his house again, and she would be able to drug him and then knock him.
She used the bathroom and, when she returned to the table, there he was.
"Well, you look a bit tired," he said.
"Right," she said smiling at him, "I didn't think you would remember me."
"Believe me when I say, you are not someone easy to forget," he said.
"Thank you, but you seem like someone who has seen a lot of things no offense." She said after placing her order.
"You might be right but some things are not as they appear," he said smiling.
"So is this something you pay for often?" she said, trying to sound flirtatious.
"I do have a proposal for you," he said after a silent while.
"You, offering me a job?" she said.
"Of some sort," He said as their plates arrived.
