"Friends, family, we are all thrilled to be here today witnessing Lynne and Leif's love. Hell they make it look so easy I might ask Melissa to marry me. Leif would kill me if I stole his thunder during this reception. I can't believe my little brother has married before me, but he's found the right woman in Lynne. She's beautiful, sweet, smart, and funny. What the hell is she doing with him? Too late Lynne, can't take it all back now, it's hard as hell to get a divorce less than twenty-four hours after a wedding. Seriously, they aren't exactly alike, that's plain to the eye, but they are clearly soul mates. Some people just belong together, and the two of them love so hard, and have so much fun doing it, that they belong together, like soul mates. I thought the idea of soul mates was cheesy and fake until I saw them together, but if anyone fits that description, it's the two of them. So you saw them get married, Lynne even got my brother's ass in a church! Unbelievable! I was waiting for the ball of fire to come down from the sky and engulf Leif, leaving Lynne untouched,"
The crowd chuckled.
"But seriously, you saw their beautiful vows, and they are now man and wife, and Leif and Lynne have planned a joyous celebration where they want everyone to celebrate with them before he takes Lynne off to a honeymoon in...wait for it Lynne...wait for it...not telling you! Mainly because I don't know. Leif wants to keep this a surprise for Lynne. No one knows where he's planned the honeymoon. Except maybe a few Mafia members. Anyway, we have remarks, we're gonna feed you a nice dinner, and then we have some entertainment planned, but first, I'm going to call Lynne and Leif up for their very first dance as man and wife," said Lyle.
When Lyle first asked to be the MC for the wedding, and declined being in the wedding because he felt a little shy, Lynne was saddened, and hurt a little bit. She wanted all of his family members to play an integral role in their wedding. She thought his refusal was because he was self-conscious about his height. Lyle was only a little bit taller than Lynne and she was very petite, so him being a little taller than her still meant that he was shorter than all of the women in the bridal party. But when Lynne witnessed the way Lyle handled his MC duties with such humor, care, and heartfelt reflections, she realized that Lyle had picked the perfect role in their wedding.
He knew what would work best for him, and she was glad he was doing it, rather than them hiring someone they didn't know. She was glad Leif's brother had wisely chosen this role in their wedding, the wry commentator and organizer of the reception. It fit him!
But now, their first dance as man and wife.
Leif was the perfect gentleman. He very gently pulled her chair out, and then he looked down at her like an expectant, happy little boy, his beautiful sky blue eyes dancing, looking in her eyes with a huge smile.
He was looking forward to their first dance as much as she was. He was so romantic, and sweet.
He linked arms with her, and led Lynne up to the tiny makeshift stage they'd set up for entertainment and dancing. When he held her hand like that, she felt like a princess.
She had her train wrapped around one hand, with the band on the end of the train, as the gown was designed so she wouldn't trip over her train, the effect made Lynne look like a medieval princess.
Leif hadn't been very vocal about his preferences for the wedding, but the one thing where he wanted a little say so was the reception. And he'd wanted to select the song for their first dance, if she'd allow him to do so. Naturally, Lynne was fine with him picking the song that they danced to, one that he felt reflected their love.
What surprised her, was that he didn't want to tell her what the song was. He'd wanted it to be a surprise. She was antsy and eager, but she felt so very loved that he was so adamant about the song that she didn't try to press him for the arrangement.
The dance meant more to Lynne than Leif would ever know. Lynne didn't go to prom growing up, and her father and ex-boyfriend had frowned on close dancing at the church sponsored socials, so this dance, with Leif, in her wedding gown, would be her first romantic dance in public with a man. She'd had sex before she'd danced in public with a man in a romantic way, such were the circumstances of her life because of being reared in a religious cult, and with a cold, and unromantic first boyfriend, who ultimately turned into a rapist!
Lynne could have told Leif earlier, that she wanted to go some place slow dancing in public with him, and she knew he would have seen to it that she got shown a great time and learned what it was like to be danced with romantically in public. But she kept it secret, at first, because she was embarrassed that she was such a freak, but later, after she knew she could share anything with Leif and he'd never hurt her, she kept it quiet because she felt like it would be so wonderful, and romantic, to have her first slow dance be with her husband.
She was ruminating on the thoughts when he pulled her close to him and held his hands gently around her waist like she was a real life princess. She felt like one, all dressed up in a beautiful white gown, his proud legal wife! And she was his princess, she knew it, the way he looked at her.
"You're so beautiful Lynney. And I cherish you sweetheart. This song. You're gonna hear, it means everything to me. Hell I searched, searched, and searched your little iPhone to find a song I know that you already love that adequately describes the feelings that I feel for you. And I did it. I found it, the perfect song to describe how I cherish you," he added dotingly kissing her forehead.
The music hadn't started yet, but he would not let her go, his hands planted sweetly in the small of her back, squeezing her close. And she loved the smell of him, like sweet spicy cinnamon and that dreadlock grooming shit.
He was so damn handsome in his formal tuxedo, his beautiful braids piled up in that ponytail and all those gorgeous seashells on the end. Leif looked like he'd jumped straight out the pages of a romantic romance novel and into her arms. And if that was the case, she was the fortunate one. The lucky heroine. She grinned at him almost delirious with joy, and he smiled back equally lovingly, having absolutely no idea why she was so giddy, that this handsome, sexy man who smelled so delicious was her husband, and he was going to be treating her to her first, formal dance in public! She was glad she hadn't wasted it on some looser at the prom, even though, her soul had ached to dance with a young man when she went stag, to see what it was like.
But even though she'd been offered dances at that first prom, Lynne knew there were likely to be pictures, and her cover would have been blown, her parents would have murdered her. Later, shame came into play! What kind of twenty three year old woman had not danced romantically with a man, the same kind she supposed that had never had an orgasm with another human being, before she met Leif! But Leif took all that shame and awkwardness she'd felt, and wiped it away in the shelter of his love, and turned it into delightful explorations, with someone loving and handsome who cared about her feelings, and whose spirit she adored. And she was sure the romantic slow dancing, would be the same way, just like he'd taught her how to love a man in his bed, and be loved as a woman! She stared at him, wide-eyed and dreamy. He was her hero! Even when he didn't have any clue he was being heroic and sweet, Leif Peterson was her damn hero.
The music started, the opening chords, she realized, was Maxwell's fortunate.
"I'm so fortunate to be your husband Lynne, fortunate to have met you, fortunate that you said yes, fortunate to make love to you, fortunate to sweep you off somewhere romantic and fuck you tonight, so that about sums it up for me. Any man who saw you in your pretty white dress today would be jealous as hell, and tell me how lucky I was. And then if he knew the person in the white dress! Damn! Oh hell Lynne. So in love with you. And fortunate. That's what I wanted our first dance to be, something romantic, and special so you knew how much you meant to me, that's why I obsessed so much over the song. Gotta have the right song for the right feeling" he added, dotingly rubbing the small of her back.
He'd started dancing with her. He tenderly and seductively planted both his hands on her hips, and she buried her head right in his chest, and followed his rhythm. Even though no one had ever danced with her romantically in public, she knew the box step, she'd seen it on TV, and movies, and it wasn't hard to follow his lead.
He smelled heavenly and she loved the slender heft of him, and she felt herself melting in his arms, her stomach had the butterflies. Felt like she was on the Ferris wheel that he'd taken her on at the fair, floating high in the air so high her stomach tingled.
Finally she couldn't keep the secret anymore, she couldn't because she was crying.
"Oh hell baby, don't cry. I love you too, and you make it hard for me not to cry," he said correctly interpreting her tears.
"I can't stop it," she added softly.
She squeezed him so tight around his chest.
He chuckled.
"Trying to kill me little mama, squeeze me to death? You're so damn cute," he added with another laugh. He removed a hand from the small of her back to playfully tweak her nose.
He made her feel adorable and precious to her the way he doted over her, squeezing her nose. Each time it was new for her. She learned, day by day what it was like to be cherished more than anything by somebody special. She just wrinkled her nose with pleasure and grinned at him hard!
"Nope. Trying to make sure you are really real, and this is really happening," she added, looking up into his eyes.
And she couldn't help it, she leaned up for his mouth and knowing what she wanted, he pulled her little chin dimple towards him, kissing her sweetly.
"Hell yeah it's happening, and you can't get out now, you're my lawfully wedded wife, too late for second chances. Plus your name is on my damn ass, no way in hell are you backing out now," he added with a playful chuckle, twirling her around in a little bit of a more complicated box pattern.
