"Hey where you going? I thought we were going for drinks." Logan said when he noticed Zoe was walking towards her car rather than his. I was a ritual for them. Every Friday night they would go for drinks after work. Spending time with her was the highlight of his week. They were best friends.
"Oh shit I completely forgot to tell you!" Zoe threw her hands in the air and walked towards him. "I'm meeting an old friend. I haven't seen him in like 2 years and he's in town so I wanted to catch up with him."
"So you're ditching me for him?" He flashed that perfect smile at her. After 2 years of being practically brother and sister she had learned to hide the effect he had on her. Though every now and then she would catch herself staring at him. His deep blue eyes used to make her to blush every time he looked at her.
"You can forgive me this one time right? I spend every Friday with you." She pouted her pretty pink lips. Logan moved in closer to Zoe pushing her against the car door. Logan was a touchy-feely kind of person, with everyone. She used to think he might have had a thing for her.
"When you say catching up... what do you mean exactly?" He knew he had no right to question her. But the thought of someone else's hands all over her caramel skin made Logan sick.
"I mean you probably won't be hearing from me until tomorrow afternoon." Zoe gave an evil smirk. Logan took a few steps back from her. His expression had changed. Even though it was clear as day, she didn't see the jealously in his face. She figured it for something else.
Logan scanned her up and down just imagining what her 'friend' wanted to do to her. What her friend would get to do with her. His heart sank. He wanted her the first time he saw her. She was wearing a simple green t-shirt supporting an eco friendly lifestyle and blue jeans that hugged every inch of her perfect ass. He practically drooled when she spoke to him; his thoughts were always on her lips. He wanted to taste them. But Zoe seemed uninterested so he took the friend route, he figured eventually he would get there. After spending more and more time with her she began to dominate his thoughts. At one point he found himself wondering where she would want to spend their honeymoon and what their kids would look like. He saw a life with her, if he could just get the nerve to get past this damn friend zone. Then that question crept its' way in his head: What if she falls in love with this guy?
"Logan. You ok?" While he was lost in thought she had made her way over to him and was running her fingers through his blonde, military style haircut. She was constantly doing these things, it always made his heart race. She was staring into his eyes waiting for an answer. It took everything in him not to kiss her, she was so close he could feel her breath on his face.
"You don't want to keep your friend waiting." He gave her a fake smile and kissed her on the cheek. "It's late so be careful ok?" Zoe nodded and headed for her car. Logan was mentally beating himself up for not being honest with her. I mean what is the worst that could happen? Zoe could say she didn't feel the same way... that would break his heart. It would be awkward between them, their friendship would never be the same. Logan drove past the bar, he never even really liked bars. The only reason he went was because of Zoe. Heading home he turned the music up attempting to get her out of his head. It was a Doomtree song, Lucky, his favorite one. It was only a minute and a half long but it spoke volumes to him. It distracted him from her.
His phone was ringing, Zoe of course. He didn't answer. She decided to text. *Hey r u ok? U seemed upset did I do sumthin?* It was just like Zoe to figure she was the problem. He was upset with himself, not her. He didn't text her back.
To Zoe, Logan had become someone off limits. In the summer time when they went swimming together she couldn't even look at him. Logan kept in shape, as a military man should, and his 6 pack washboard abs made her drool. She found herself wearing skimpy bikinis, that she wouldn't normally wear, just to get his attention. But there was always nothing from him. Never even a second glance. He pretty much kept at a distance from her in the summer. Personally Zoe thought she had a nice body. Curves in all the right places and a smooth stomach made her pretty proportional she thought. But obviously not right for Logan. He was someone she wanted more than anyone in this world but thought she couldn't have. When she was having a bad day just the sound of his voice made everything ok. He had a way with making any problem she had disappear. Most of the time she felt guilty for wanting him so bad, he deserved to be happy with the woman of his choice without having a jealous friend on the side.
Logan, finally getting to his apartment, decided to take a cold shower. Zoe always left him hard but it was something he learned to hide. Everything about her was a turn on to him. Her bubbly personality, her witty sense of humor, and her beautiful smile. At first he was able to handle being around her so much but lately Logan couldn't even think. Half the time his words got all scrambled up or he couldn't speak at all. He couldn't help but stare at her, everything she did seemed sexually directed at him. The little bikinis she wore in the summer threatened to ruin their friendship. He had to excuse himself many times from the beach to handle his painfully hard dick. Sometimes she would get changed in the elevator at work like he wasn't even around. Logan couldn't count how many times he wanted to fuck her right there. He was loosing his self control, he had come so close to kissing her tonight. Two weeks ago he would have handled it better, he wouldn't have been so close to Zoe in the first place.
Zoe arrived at Jason's hotel and knocked on room 309. They were supposed to get dinner, casual fast food. Since he didn't know his way around she figured she would pick him up. When Jason opened the door she was utterly speechless. He was the very definition of tall, dark, and handsome just what she had expected of him. She knew she was going to sleep with him, hell that was the goal all along. They used to be good friends years ago and since they had been apart for so long the relationship had changed. Meaning it wouldn't be weird to fuck him. Jason hugged Zoe and let her in the room.
"We can leave soon as my wife gets finished with her hair." Wife? Zoe nearly smacked herself when she heard those words.
Logan stepped out the shower and slid on some basketball shorts. He ordered a pepperoni pizza to satisfy his growling stomach. With nothing to do he sat on the couch itching to play a video game. Unfortunately he had loaned his x-box 360 to Danny 2 weeks ago and the only other console he had was Zoe's Wii. They had played a few hundred times she always kicked his ass in the sports games. But right now he didn't feel like moving. Browsing through the HBO series and skipping over Zoe's obsession, True Blood, he finally settled for Eastward Bound & Down. He dozed off waiting for the pizza man.
The dinner had went fine, Danny and his wife were all smiles and genuinely happy to see her. She played nice but inside she was furious. But for no reason really. She couldn't be mad at Jason for being happily married. She also couldn't be mad at him for the fact that she hadn't had any dick in a long time. After it was over she pulled into the nearest bar and had a drink, or five. She was drunk before the hour was over.
"Honey do you have somebody I can call to come and get you?" The nice bartender asked. Zoe let out some mumbles and no one understood her.
"I think she's Logan's girl. Call him." An older man said. Zoe turned around quick almost falling off the stool.
"I'm not Logan's girl." She said with a goofy smile on her face.
