Meet Tyrone Vaughn and his lovely wife Lamika James-Vaughn, a middle-class Black couple living in the South End of Baltimore, Maryland. On the surface, they absolutely appear to have it all. Tyrone studied for his Master's degree in Business Management at the University of Maryland in Baltimore County, and Lamika studied Commerce at Spelman College in the City of Atlanta, Georgia. Lamika works for the Bank of America as a Regional Manager while Tyrone works for the affluent Donnelly & Keene Corporation as a Corporate Manager. The couple owns a lovely three-story house that's all paid for, and they also drive some really nice cars. Sadly, there is trouble in paradise.
Lamika and Tyrone love each other but they're definitely going through something. The well-to-do Black American couple has been together for years but lately, they've been having some problems. Lamika James-Vaughn almost lost her shit when her husband Tyrone Vaughn revealed his bisexuality to her. A lot of Black women have a problem with Black male bisexuality even though they collect effeminate gay Black male best friends like baseball cards. Whenever a Black American woman finds out a Black man is bisexual, she acts like it's the end of the world. A lot of bisexual Black men love their wives and girlfriends, and form successful relationships. Of course, the world overlooks this...
The stereotype is that all bisexual Black men are agents of chaos, breaking hearts in both the straight Black community and the queer Black community. A lot of gay Black men hate bisexual Black men because they choose their wives and girlfriends over them. Some gay Black men take a malicious pleasure in outing bisexual Black men to their wives and girlfriends. Some bisexual Black men stop dealing with men altogether and focus exclusively on women. Some bisexual Black men have wives and girlfriends but sneak around with other men. It all depends on the wants, needs and motivations of the bisexual Black man in question...
The Black community is notoriously intolerant when it comes to bisexuality, and bisexual Black men are hated by everyone. Black women are quick to befriend effeminate gay Black males but they act shocked or disgusted when a masculine and handsome Black man turns out to be bisexual. Since straight Black men, gay Black men and heterosexual Black women hate them, bisexual Black men tend to hide their true sexual nature. At this point, who can blame them? The bisexual Black man is universally despised and hides who and what he is for reasons of safety. It's that simple at the end of the day.
