It Could Have Been Anyone - Pt. 7
By Cal Bishop
Author's Note
Alicia puts the blindfold on and friends come over.
In addition to the group sex, this story also includes elements of anal sex and swinging/loving wives. You have been warned.
There's definitely going to be two chapters to the series after this. I've tried to put some kind of an ongoing plot in this series in between all the fucking, with character development and a climax in the nonsexual sense of the term, and it'll take two more chapters to wrap up. There probably won't be anything after that. Maybe one-off stories starring these characters, but they'd have no broad plot impact, they might explore different themes/characters more, and the main arc will be done.
If you have any feedback on Ben and Alicia's journey, let me know, and I'll take your thoughts into account when working on those one-off stories or anything in the future.

It Started as a Normal Day
It was Friday, and on Tuesdays and Fridays, Alicia left for work half an hour early and got to her desk half an hour late. In between, she went to a spin class. One of her favorite things about her job was the gym on the premises.
"Okay, gang, turn it up! For two more minutes, turn on the gas! Give it your all! One more burn!" Tyler yelled.
Pump, pump, pump, pump... she stood out of the saddle of the exercise bike to get more force into her legs, her back arched, her eyes on the spandex-clad butt of the woman she didn't know in front of her, barely able to see their instructor over her. Tyler was tall and skinny, with sculpted muscles displayed clearly by spandex of his own.
"Good! Okay, ease up for a bit. Cooldown time," he called when the time was up.
As Alicia's momentum carried her into the cooldown period, she grinned competitively at her friend Ella on the bike next to her.
I can do this longer, can't you?
She tried to say wordlessly. No challenge was needed to keep Ella going; as far as Alicia could tell, she hadn't slowed down at all.
"See you next week!" Alicia said breezily to Tyler as the class headed to the locker room.
Alicia put her towel over two hooks, staking out the shower next to hers for Ella. Ella joined her a minute later, before the water in Alicia's shower had warmed up. Alicia ducked into her shower just before Ella hung her towel up.
"Admit it, you were showing off for Tyler," Alicia called over the shower wall as she rinsed off the sweat from the workout.
"Grow up," Ella called back. "I'm not that desperate!"
Rinse, shampoo, conditioner, a little body wash all over, rinse again, water off. She didn't have time for more before work like this. "You're so interested in Tyler, maybe you should ask for his number," Ella shot back as they got dressed.
Alicia shrugged. "Maybe I should."
"Gotta have a backup just in case things fall through with Ben, huh?"
"Huh? Oh, right. Backup. Hah," Alicia said.
Ella stopped. "Are you and Ben okay? I was kidding, I didn't think you should actually go out with Tyler..."
"Yes, we're fine. I was just... not paying attention. Sorry. Haven't had my coffee yet. Ben and I are great, really," Alicia said.
"Are you? Sometimes I wonder. I've heard you talk about that Gene guy," Ella answered.
"Oh, him? Come on, that's all Platonic. He's happily married. Ben is even closer to his wife than I am to him," she said.
"Kinky," Ella said.
"Not like that," Alicia answered after thinking for a minute about how to respond.
Conversation turned to safer topics as they walked down the hall, to the elevator, and out to the coffee shop they frequented. "So what's up with you, anyways?" Ella asked. "Any exciting plans for this weekend?"
Alicia shrugged. "Same old, same old," she said. "Maybe going out to dinner tonight but it'll be low-key if so. Maybe we'll go on a bike trip together tomorrow. If I'm not too sore from this morning, that is. How about you?"
"I'm meeting Megan for brunch tomorrow at a new place on H Street. Maru. Heard of it?" Ella asked. Alicia shook her head. "You know what, you should join us," Ella said suddenly, turning to face her in the line. "I haven't seen you outside work in way too long."
Alicia frowned in thought. "We went to brunch at Gypsy Kitchen just last month, didn't we?"
"That was April," Ella corrected. "The cherry blossoms were still out, remember?"
Ella ordered her coffee as Alicia thought about it. "You're right, it has been a while, sorry," Alicia admitted after ordering her own. "We've just been busy."
"I'm glad things are going well for you and Ben. I know they weren't for a while in the fall, right? You didn't give me many details, but there was definitely something wrong. I'm glad you two are better, I'm just saying, it's not healthy to forget your other friends."
"I haven't forgotten anyone. I've just... not thought about you two in a while," she said defensively. "Sorry. You're right, we're overdue."
"So, brunch tomorrow then? The reservation's at 10. I can probably get a third added to it," Ella said.
"Probably," Alicia said, nodding slowly. "Let me check with Ben and make sure we don't have some plans I've forgotten about. But probably."
Once they had their coffees, they walked together back through security to work. They were coworkers before they were friends. "Seriously, maybe you should ask Tyler out some time," Alicia said. "It's been a while, hasn't it?"
"Don't remind me," Ella said. "But no. I'm not dating my spin class coach, thank you very much. I'm not that desperate."
"Oh come on, don't be so hard on yourself. It wouldn't be desperate," Alicia said, actually getting annoyed. "It would be just... casual."
"Heyyyyyyyy, ladies!" said their coworker Uriah as they walked by his desk.
"Hey Uri!" Alicia said, walking a little faster.
"Now that would be desperate," Alicia said once they were safely out of earshot.
"The good news is, I think he's finally got the message at the last happy hour that I'm not interested," Ella said. "The bad news is, I think he might be interested in you now."
Chat died down for a while when they got to their cubicles, around the corner from each other. Alicia had 11 emails overnight, two requiring answers, and by the time she was done with that, it was almost 9, time for the Agile project meeting. By the time that was over, Ella was engrossed in a weekly report and wouldn't appreciate an interruption. But Alicia didn't forget about their talk.
Taking It to the Next Level
Alicia got home from work around 5:30 and didn't find Ben there.
That was unusual. He normally got off work around 4 PM, well before her, so even if he had some errands to run on the way, he'd be home before her, cooking dinner or just playing Overwatch in the living room. But the living room of their apartment was empty, and no one in the kitchen called out to her.
"Ben?" she called, just to be sure. No answer.
As soon as she stepped into the living room, she noticed it on the couch. The blindfold, a strip of black cloth they'd used for many sex games in recent months, in their own bedroom and at a friend's house.
There was a yellow Post-It note on the blindfold. "Put it on," said a brief note in Ben's scrawled handwriting.
For a moment Alicia wondered about that.
The last two times, it was a typewritten note with detailed instructions. Was he in a hurry this time? I can recognize his handwriting, but maybe he's aware of that and trying to fake me out and it'll be another man? He didn't even text me about a surprise this time, unlike the other two times.
She looked down the hall, and was unsurprised to find the hall dark, the bedroom door closed. Curious, she went to it and knocked. No answer. "Hello?" She called. She thought she heard noise, motion in the room, but likewise no actual answer came.
She tried the knob. It was locked. She frowned.
It's never locked. I guess it might have been the last times we did this, I didn't check, but why bother? Why be so careful about that, and then forget about the text and the note?
She shrugged. If she really needed to know, she could call Ben. And as he, Gene, and Vivian all liked to remind her, she could always take the blindfold off. She'd at least let the game start and see where it would go.
Expecting slight disappointment, worried that some detail had gone wrong and this mystery session wouldn't measure up to the previous but still looking forward to it overall, she kicked off her shoes, put her purse on the couch and tied on the blindfold.
