A Pleasant Surprise at Work
It was a modest office building with the name 'Rainforest Action Alliance' on the front door in simple block lettering. Inside, the office had the usual hum of quiet activity for an organization that employed well over 100 people. Given that most people could work remotely, most people often did. Not Juliet or Sabrina, though. The founders of the RAA.
Juliet leaned against Sabrina's desk, her deep green eyes sparkling as they laughed about the latest TikTok they sent back and forth. It was their daily ritual--sharing a few moments of laughter before diving back into the grind of trying to save the world, so-to-speak. Juliet's shoulder-length chocolate brown hair framed her face as she brushed a strand behind her ear, her slender figure relaxed.
"You're lucky," Sabrina teased with a grin, her dark hair cascading down her shoulders. "Not everyone gets to work with their bestie."
Juliet deadpanned, "Oh? When did we hire her?" before allowing a wry smile come across her face. Sabrina leaned over to playfully slap her on the arm.
Just then, Juliet's phone buzzed with a notification, and she glanced down to see a message from her husband, Ethan.
Got something for you. Be there in 2.
Before she could reply, the familiar sound of the office door opening drew her attention. There he was--Ethan, tall and confident, his broad shoulders looking particularly good in his crisp white shirt. His traditionally handsome features lit up when his gaze met hers. He held two Starbucks cups, the unmistakable green logo like a beacon of comfort. Juliet's heart fluttered with warmth at the sight.
"Surprise!" Ethan said as he crossed the room, offering her the cup. "I thought you two could use a little pick-me-up."
"Ethan!" Juliet beamed, taking the drink from him. "You didn't have to do that."
"I know," he said with a playful grin, "but I wanted to." He turned to Sabrina, handing her the second cup. "One for you too, Sabrina. Thought I'd score some points."
"Consider them scored," Sabrina replied, her eyes twinkling as she accepted the drink.
Juliet laughed, giving Ethan an appreciative look and said, "Thanks, babe. You're the best!" and leaned over to give him a kiss on the cheek.
"Well," Ethan said, giving Juliet a mock-serious look, "if you want to say thanks properly you could let me give you a tour of my car in the parking garage. It can even be a brief tour if that fits your schedule better."
Juliet's laughter rang out, shaking her head. "You're terrible, Ethan."
"Hey, I'm just offering," Ethan teased, his playful energy contagious. He grinned at Sabrina, who raised her drink in mock salute. "Alright, I'm out of here. I have a client meeting in an hour. I just wanted to swing by and see my favorite lady," he said smiling.
"Wait...which one of us are you talking about now?" Sabrina said while laughing.
Juliet rolled her eyes and then turned to plant an exaggerated kiss on Ethan before he turned and walked out of the office.
"He's all mine you wicked thing," Juliet joked with Sabrina as she playfully smacked her on the hand.
"You know," Sabrina said with a smirk, "if I had a man like that, I'd be touring that car whenever he wanted."
Juliet flushed slightly, "C'mon you heathen. We've got work to do." The ladies got up and began walking to Juliet's office as they sipped their drinks along the way.
The Suggestion
Later that evening, Juliet and Ethan were relaxing, bodies intertwined, in the oversized hammock on their patio, winding down from the day. The air was calm, with the right amount of comfortable moisture in the air. There was the kind of comfortable silence that settled between couples who had been together for a long time as Ethan lightly ran his finger up and down Juliet's arm. As they lay there in silence and utter comfort, Juliet's mind kept drifting back to earlier in the day.
How well the three of them get along. How easy it all feels when they're all together. Sabrina joking about if she had a man like him. Thinking about it like this flushed her face a little. Thinking about it created a sensation, a warmth between her thighs in the heart of her sun. Before she even realized she was opening her mouth to bring the thoughts to life, she opened her mouth.
"You know..." Juliet began, breaking the silence. Immediately pausing once she realized she was about to bring those jumbled thoughts to life.
Ethan turned his head slightly, giving her his full attention. "What's on your mind?"
Hesitating at first, "I was thinking about something," she said carefully. "What if we... spiced things up a little?"
Ethan raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Spiced things up how?" Half-jokingly, he continues, "Want me to wear a mask and chase you through the woods," he smiled, "because I totally would if that's something you were into."
Letting out a soft chuckle, she raised a hand and placed it on his cheek she quipped, "And hide that handsome face of yours?" then giving his cheek a teasing pinch before continuing. "You can chase me through the woods anytime. But, be serious for a minute. What if we did something a bit... different in the bedroom? Like, let someone watch us. You know, to make things more exciting."
Ethan blinked, clearly surprised but the curious look on his face told Juliet he wasn't entirely against the idea. "Watch us? Like... a stranger or someone we know? I'm not sure I'd want to invite a total stranger into our bedroom."
"No, not a total stranger. We would need to meet them first if we didn't already know them, obviously," Juliet added, though her tone suggested she was leaning toward a more familiar option. "I don't know. I think it could be kind of hot."
Ethan sat up slightly, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "I mean... I'm not opposed to the idea. But who would we feel comfortable with? I wouldn't want just anyone."
Juliet nodded, understanding. "Yeah, that's the tricky part. I don't think a complete stranger is the right move either. What about someone we know... someone we trust?"
A pause hung in the air between them as they both considered it. Then her mind flashed back to Sabrina. She and Sabrina shared everything, and she couldn't help but feel that Sabrina would be open to the idea. After all, Sabrina had made a joke about it earlier that day.
"Actually..." Juliet said slowly, "what if we asked Sabrina?"
