Introduction: Welcome to my Summer Lovin' 2024 contest entry. It's a slowly building tale of young adult friends becoming very friendly in the seducing atmosphere of sun, sand and sea. Great thanks to Small Island for last-minute editing help.
I am not a native English speaker, which accounts for some unusual ways of saying things. I hope you will enjoy the story. Your votes and comments will help me in any future works I may be considering, and of course, since it's a contest entry, please do take the time to add your vote to this or any other contest stories you read.
Impromptu Sex Beach Party
Things started innocently with the exceptionally good weather on this late July day.
The radical change from the continuous drizzle that had marred the few preceding days set the spirits of the boys in the group of university friends in a buoyant mood. It was readily apparent in the usual morning banter on their chat group.
The group had bonded during their first year at university and had all enrolled in an optional prep course ahead of their second year. This morning chat was their usual routine before each hit the road for school. That is, it was usual until an idea more appropriate to their high school days was launched.
Alain: "Hey guys, superb weather today! Don't know about you but here at my place, sun is out bright."
Thierry: "Same here, 'lain. It sucks to be wasting such a glorious day at school desks."
Jamal: "Hey guys, how about playing truant? We could head for the beach, have a dip, then sit in the shade and watch the tourists dry it off. Tourists' Cove's ideal place for that."
Sunil: "Sounds great. Think we can get the girls to come? It's always more fun to have some female company, especially at the beach."
Thierry: "I think with this weather, they would be all in. Except maybe Mamma Mélanie. Anyway, Caroline's sure to come once she knows I'll be there."
Alain: "Not sure they will want to come when they learn we'll be heading for Tourists' Cove."
"With the Victorian mindset they all still have, I don't think they'll enjoy watching the tourists dry it off like we will."
Sunil: "And they'll probably see it as competition and be peeved that our attention is focused elsewhere than them."
Jamal: "Who says we have to tell them?"
"We just pick them up and once we get there, they'll face a fait accompli."
"I doubt they'll want to sit in the cars and wait for us, especially with the waves beckoning."
Sunil: "All right, guys. Let's do this: we each call a girl or two and convince them to come. We meet usual place and set off from there. I'll call Julie and Mélanie."
Jamal: "I'll take Anita."
Thierry: "Caroline's for me, sure."
Alain: "Ok, that leaves me with Sophie. Think we should try Anzeera too?" he asked, referring to the newest member of their group -- another 19-year-old girl who was really still just on the edge.
Sunil: "Why not...the more the merrier. Let's get moving. Drinks are on me and Alain, and snacks on the rest of you. We can piece out together for some street food there."
Two hours later, the two cars were on the way to the north of the island, Sunil in his father's Renault and Jamal in his Nissan. Alain was in the passenger seat next to Sunil, with three of the girls seated behind. Thierry had preferred the back seat in the other car to be with his girlfriend Caroline and, with Anita next to Caroline, Anzeera had had to take the front seat next to Jamal. She played it down as being perforce obliged to accept it but was secretly overjoyed things had turned out that way. She was not a regular in the group but lately had started to hang around with them under cover of girlie friendship, hoping she would get Jamal's attention. She had a little crush on him and thought that getting into his inner circle might create something between them.
The girls had not taken long to agree to the beach trip. Four of them were still at home when they were contacted by the boys and they heartily joined in, donning their beachwear under their street clothes before setting out for the meeting spot. Even cool-headed, studious Mélanie, two years older than most of them at twenty-one, for once had succumbed to the call of sea and sun after the three days span of almost non-stop rain.
While that was typical of 'winter' in the tropics below the equator, where the seasons were flipped in the calendar from the northern hemisphere, it had been a bit more than normal. So, when a bright, sunny day like today had come along, the students couldn't resist. Those beautiful days were also why northern vacationers spent their summer holidays there during the months the islanders thought of as winter.
Anzeera was already on the bus when she was informed of the plan and she hesitated a little at first because she didn't have her swimwear with her but the thought of spending a whole day in the company of Jamal won her over. She would find some way to be near him most of the time and, who knows, the romantic setting of sun, sea and sand might just topple him in her direction. She hoped she would get the other girls' support to somehow join the fun even if she didn't have a bathing suit.
Sunil didn't manage to get through to Julie and it was only when she joined the group at their usual pre-school rendezvous that she got the news. She was reluctant to join in despite her loving the company of the group because she was not equipped for a day at the beach. But the gentle harassing of her friends eroded her resistance and she finally yielded when Sunil proposed to buy her a swimsuit on the way to the beach. Anzeera dared not say a word at that moment because she had already accepted and it would have seemed petty to express hesitation now. Also, she was new to the group and wasn't sure one of the boys would be chivalrous enough to offer to buy her a bathing suit like Sunil had done for Julie. And as she did not want them to leave her behind, she just kept mum, hoping she would somehow manage.

Things started to get interesting when they reached the seaside.
When the girls had queried about their destination place, Jamal had answered vaguely "Eden Creek", a large resort well-known to beach lovers with several sub-spots catering to various tastes. When the two cars stopped on the less developed, almost savage area of large, sandy expanse at the resort's far edge, the girls were at a loss, wondering why the boys had not chosen the more popular spots with a number of food sellers and nearby facilities. When the boys made for the huge rocky cliff that almost separated the beach into two, with the clear intention of crossing to the other side, it finally dawned on them what the boys were aiming for.
"You are not taking us to Tourists' Cove, are you?" Julie queried of no-one in particular.
The name was not an official appellation; it had been coined by the locals because a number of tourists, wanting some privacy from the natives, particularly the authorities, had adopted as their own a less hospitable place shunned by the islanders. There they indulged in what was normally illegal on the island: topless, even nude sunbathing. A few years back, when the first tourists dared to go topless at the risk of being fined, they were very few and the authorities turned a blind eye on the matter, probably for economic reasons, tourism being one of the main sources of revenue for the island. Through word of mouth, the news spread among the community of foreigners which led to an increase in numbers and now, they could be quite a few at times indulging in nudism in this secluded place. This was a joking matter for the locals who couldn't understand this need to bare it all, to 'dry it off' as they called it, drawing a metaphor from the local language for drying laundry in the sun. The attendance of the place by the natives did not change, the latter preferring the relative comfort of their usual haunts to the wild aspect of the Tourists' Cove despite the new appeal brought by the unusual show. Even those who wanted to have a peek did it discreetly from afar, out of fear of being taken to task by the exposed tourists, or for fear of being tagged as perverts by locals, or even because of a remnant of the long held cultural modesty of the Islanders.
None of the boys answered Julie's question but the fact that they trekked on in that direction was an answer in itself. Beyond the rocky protuberance, they could see a small number of tourists scattered in small groups, some bathing, some lying in the sun, some engaged in some activity. And indeed, most of them were either topless or completely naked. As they moved down in that direction, Julie sighed.
"Seriously boys, you could have spared us that. If you wanted to have a feast for your eyes, why bring us along? This kind of show is of no interest to us."
"Come on, Jul," Sunil intervened soothingly, "it's not easy to get to, but it's a really nice beach on a protected cove. We brought you along because we like your company."
"Like our company?" Anita scoffed. "I'm sure your attention will soon be all over the place rather than with us."
