Lothar had sent for the Princesses in the dungeon, requesting that they be washed, shaved, and prepared for their first meeting with me. He had gone down to the dungeon himself, bringing news of only one rejection to my proposal; although, he was sure that the rejector could be easily won over.
I did not want the women in my own chambers, feeling deeply uncomfortable with the notion of them spreading their legs on my bed; instead, I had a spare bedroom prepared for their arrival.
I was seated on the bed, slipping into unconsciousness from sheer boredom, completely disinterested. Lothar bursts into the room, two blonde women entering with him, both naked from the waist down; one with a metal ring around her neck, a long metal chain fed through a loop, her hands in cuffs, the other restraint-free. I heard the guards step in front of the doorway after the door was closed, Lothar smiled preciously.
"My King, the Princesses. Annora," He said, holding his arm out to the left, she dipped her head with a curtsey, "And, Gregoria." The chain jangled, Gregoria spat in my direction, he rolled his eyes, tugging on the restraint to make her fall to her knees.
"Both are eager to hear more of your proposal." He said, attaching Gregoria's chain to the bed post. She kept her head low, staring at the bed sheets, hands trying to break free.
"It is a great pleasure to have you Annora, and you Gregoria before me. The beautiful daughters of a once successful King, and the willing sisters of my concubine. I come to you with a great proposal, one that will see your lives spared. Should you decline, you will be met with the same fate as your father. Your pretty little heads will sit next to his, do you understand?"
Annora responded positively, obediently. Gregoria did not respond at all.
"I will allow you to live out your lives in peace at the monastery, if you consent to producing my heirs." I folded my arms, the room fell silent. Gregoria looked up at me with contempt, as if the cogs turning in her brain were helping to formulate my demise; she could try, but her father no longer had any allies left alive. She would be all alone in her contempt.
