They had all been friends for years. The 8 of them had done couples nights out many times. They teased yet trusted beyond words. There had never been any jealousy or pettiness amongst them.
2 of them had a secret past and as hot as it was you'd never know it now being around them.
2 of them shared everything and the group as a whole had no idea of their trusted private friendship. They knew it wouldn't get out but things they shared could hurt others unintentionally so they remained private friends to bounce ideas off of.
Jane was the organizer for most events. She was very attractive with a nice body but much like her name she was boring. She was the last to tease/flirt and when she did it was awkward and forced. She was married to Collin. Collin was a big flirt and played like he could be a "player" but everyone knew he wouldn't really because of Jane.
Elaine was all about playing and flirting and she had this secret side that only came out when she was with this group. She had a very wild past before settling down with Todd. She was always happy to share past exploitations with the group. Now Todd was her life and she left the true naughty side behind. Todd was a family man and was respected by everyone in the group but before meeting Elaine he had a wild streak himself, even engaging in actives with one of the wives in this group.
Heather was the sweetest of them all. She loved with all of her heart. She didn't contribute a lot when the talks got hot and heavy but you never sensed any judgement in her quietness. She was 100% dedicated to Brad. Brad... he had a past only 1 person knew about. Brad's Aurora was intoxicating. The ladies in the group felt it, then men in the group knew it. Brad we confident in an all consuming way.
Samantha was the one who engaged with everyone of them on a separate level. She loved the ladies like family and would take anyone on for them. Samantha had a past with one of the men. It was amazing but when it was done it was done with no hard feelings and no looking back. Samantha had a best friend in the group and no one would suspect it. They shared all the good stuff. The stuff no one else would understand or relate too. Samantha was married to John. John was funny and could be flirty but was always cautious in life on every level. Making sure to never cross the line. John did stuff off the beaten path but only when initiated by Samantha.
They hadn't seen each other for awhile but Jane organized dinner, drinks and an escape room. They all met up and ate, drank and laughed. A great night ahead of them.
Once at the escape room they found out they would get through it easier if they broke down in small groups and tackled each room 2 at a time. The starting room was designed in a big circle decorated as a living room and kitchen. There was a code in that area to unlock the separate doors to the 4 attached rooms. Jane said they would draw names to pick partners and no one with their significant other. They drew partners as:
Jane/Brad
Samantha/Todd
Heather/John
Elaine/Collin
Brad was bummed he got Jane, although she had a sweet little body he'd always liked he knew it would be strictly business between them all night. No overly fun conversations or flirting. The rest of the group was indifferent to who they had drawn.
The plan they made was they would work clues in order from 1-5 down in the separate rooms. They would rotate every 15 minutes to let each group have a turn in each room.
Samantha and Todd drew the library. It was a room of books from top to bottom with a ladder attached that swung all around the room. It appeared impossible to find clues in. Samantha went to work searching when Todd approached her from behind. Todd had already lost momentum and asked Samantha afters years of never asking "do you ever think of those moments years ago" Samantha was surprised but decided to be honest. She said she remembered them all but it felt like their time had past and they had lost whatever it was back then in the years gone by.
