Family: I understand that you and Alison are both going through a difficult time, Sam. You have both made mistakes and poor decisions. However, there is no need to end your marriage since Alison is willing to work on fixing things. Your mother is currently in tears because of this situation. Your words have also hurt me, your father, by implying that we are abandoning you. Our only goal is to keep our family together. We only have one week left of our vacation, and I believe you can handle being with Alison for that amount of time. Perhaps seeking counseling could help us all come together and address this issue like mature individuals. Will you at least consider doing that? If you truly want to make things work, you will have to let go of the other women in your life.
Sam: I can't FUCKING believe this. I cannot FUCKING believe that my own family expects me to remain with someone who constantly cheats and lies. You know what? It doesn't FUCKING matter anymore. I no longer consider you my family. I no longer have a father or mother! If you could do this to me, it no longer matters. I am no longer your son. Congratulations, though. You now have a disgraceful daughter to call your own! Farewell, as I will be blocking both of you now."
Before signing off, I have one final goodbye to my family. "Thank you for bringing me into this world and raising me, but I will miss my deceased parents as they are dead to me now. I am also cutting ties with both of you. Goodbye!"
Before I can hit send on the last message. Lizzy and Maja both stop me.
"Sam, do you really want to say that? Do you really want to disown them? This may be permanent. Please think this through. They are your parents, whether they act it or not," Maja implores me, and Lizzy is nodding her head.
"Sam, I agree with Maja. Please take a moment to think this through. This is extreme. I don't think anyone will come back from this action. Everyone is going to be hurt by this. Take a couple minutes to think before you hit send, please? For us?" I can hear Lizzy begging me to not do this. I will admit that my anger took over, making me act impulsively.
Taking a few minutes to think things through with a few breaths, re-reading everything sent and the conversation I just had. I can only come to one conclusion.
Rubbing both hands across my face, I gaze up at my two Ladies. "Lizzy? Maja?" I pause, swallowing to clear my throat and taking a deep breath before continuing. "I cannot coexist with someone who betrays me. My own family has turned against me and sided with Alison. How can I view them in the same light? Consider this: would you be able to forgive your parents if they supported Frank or Paul? Would you have welcomed them back into your life if they demanded it? I highly doubt it. I will not and cannot. Thank you for your concern and for being here for me. It means everything. I will never betray any of you. But this is my decision, and nothing will change that." My fierce growl at the end must have convinced them, as they both nodded in understanding before watching me hit send.
Without waiting for their response, I capture the entire chat and prevent them from communicating with me. Currently, I'm not concerned about anything else as my rage intensifies. As I clench my fist and glance at the desk, I attempt to compose myself but end up slamming my hand down with force. The noise catches Mikah's attention, and she rushes over from her own desk. As she walks in, I tilt my head back and gesture for everyone to take a seat.
"Mikah, I've just finished a conversation with my parents on Messenger, and they are siding with Alison. I have completely cut them off and told them they are no longer a part of my life. Their support of her is a complete betrayal to me. And I refuse to stand by or consider anyone family who betrays me. Would you mind going through all of my online accounts that have my parents on them and making sure they are unable to contact me on any social media as well? I'm worried I won't be able to do it myself without losing control of my anger." After she nods in agreement, she heads over to her desk to start her tasks.
"Lizzy, could you do me a favor and arrange for some movers to go to my previous residence and clear out my belongings? Could you take Mikah with you? If possible, please try to get it done today and have the items stored in a facility. I will deal with sorting through them at a later time. Maja, I'm afraid Alison will be quite upset about these recent developments. Can you coordinate with building security to have someone stationed at the entrance and keep an eye out for her? They should also be prepared to accompany her out if things become tense. And Lizzy, can you please arrange for the attorney to either meet us at the office tomorrow or send over the divorce papers? Thank you both for agreeing to help me with this." I look at them with a sad smile and a feeling of gratitude to have such wonderful people surround me. I receive nods from both My Ladies as they quickly move to do as I asked.
Going to my phone, I set a reminder to go to that flower place and pick up some flowers for them as a thank you.
Around noon, all My Ladies join me in the office to meet me, then down to the car for lunch. Heading to the diner, all of us hungry after the morning we have had.
"Maja, baby, how was your morning so far? Anything happen?" I ask as we drive--genuinely curious as to how her morning went and how the investigation is going into all the sex problems we have had.
Hearing Maja snort and sigh at the same time perks my ears up. This can't be good.
"I was going to bring this up after lunch, sweetheart, but we have a problem. After your declaration in the warehouse that sex while on the clock will not be tolerated, I have received eight letters of resignation. The warehouse is going to be running slow for a while, and I have received several complaints about the temporary manager who was promoted. Being ineffectual is the least of the complaints I am getting about her. We are going to have to concentrate on the warehouse first, and I have asked Rina if she could help me put a damper on any rumors or morale loss in other departments."
Looking at Rina, a question pops into my head. "Rina? How are the other departments handling my taking the CEO position? Are there any grumblings that I need to be aware of?" I need to be able to head off any problems before it gets too big and will need Rina's help in steadying the company in this time of turmoil.
Rina sitting there looking down has me worried. I can almost see the little hamster spinning its wheel for her. "We might. I don't think it's as bad as the warehouse yet! I would like to head off any problems before they grow. Is there any way you can write up an email and send it to the upper management in the company, explaining what you want to do, how you want this company to move forward, and how your new fraternization policy is going to affect people on all levels? I think that would help allay some fears. I have heard some rustling from middle management that they are unhappy with the new rules being set in place and having no input on them. As far as you taking over personally, most middle management liked you, insofar as they didn't have any quarrel with you as COO," Rina sums up the situation.
As we talk, I see Shanna come into the restaurant in her work clothes. Seeing us, she walks over to us, and Lizzy motions for her to join us.
As Shanna sits down, Rina continues. "Sam, Since Alison is coming home today, is there anything we need to do to make this easier on you? I know this is going to be a hard thing tomorrow when you confront her. How are you going to do that and where?"
Shanna speaks up at this point, and I can see a bit of confusion in her. "Other than Sam's cheating wife. Is she someone I should be concerned about?"
Softly chuckling, I look between My Ladies and Shanna as I explain. "Alison, other than, like you said, my cheating wife, is the CFO of the company. She was my college sweetheart, and we married a couple years later. I never expected her to act like this. Nothing she ever did indicated that she was a cheater. I was so blind to that bitch." shaking my head, I go on to describe her physical looks. "I thought I knew who she was. We were together for three years in college before we married; I never had any suspicions in college, which makes me wonder if she cheated on me back then too, and I was just blind to it. Last couple of days I've been thinking back through our marriage and relationship. There was never a red flag. Except maybe her parents, but I always thought it was normal. I never gave it much thought that her mother was the dominant person in their marriage. I just went with it."
Lizzy, sitting beside me, reaches over and rubs my back. Looking over, I can't help but smile at her. Looking at all my beauties I say, "Now look where I am. I'm the CEO. I have four absolutely beautiful women and a new start in life. Something I will not let go to waste or take for granted. I will never do anything to hurt these four wonderful Ladies. For that is what you are to me: My Ladies. My heart and my soul."
Shanna awws at us and makes us all laugh. "I have a few minutes left before I have to work. I'm doing an extended shift covering for someone. Will you come back tonight? I would love to see you all again. I get off at about 10 tonight though. But maybe for supper? It's usually quiet," she says, looking at me. "As you well know, Sam, not many people here after five tonight," Shanna continues, giving me a knowing smile.
Looking at My Ladies, seeing them nod their heads and the mischief in their eyes, I can only shake my head and laugh. "I think we can make it. Maybe around five tonight? I'm not quite sure what My Ladies are thinking of, though I can see they have something in their eyes. All I know is, I will be in trouble and will enjoy every minute of it!"
