Amanda has been dating Kyle for 3 months now, and everything is going fantastically. They truly enjoy the time they spent together and he is a true gentleman. Sometimes a little too much of a gentleman she thought to herself, but that's better than the bad boy types of her past mistakes. Those relationships never went anywhere. Kyle has a good job, he's well mannered, respectful, and fantastic in bed. Things are so good, Amanda sometimes finds herself questioning if this is too good to be true. As a general rule, when something seems to be too good to be true, it usually is.
Kyle met Amanda at their favorite coffee shop and took a seat in the corner on the patio. He couldn't help admiring her amazing figure as she approached. She was wearing a fitted red dress accentuating her curves, especially her full breast and hourglass figure. She had full lips and a confident strut even in high heels, but what he fell in love with first were her dark seductive eyes.
He seemed nervous, which was unlike Kyle. He was normally very laid back and a go with the flow type guy. His broad shoulders seemed as if they could carry the weight of the world. Those shoulders were just the tip of the iceberg as she learned on their second date. His solid chest and defined abs never failed to get Amanda more excited than she cared to admit.
"We need to talk." he said, locking eyes with Amanda.
Uh oh, in her experience this is usually when the guy tells you he's married and has kids. She took a deep breath and braced herself for the worst.
"I really love you."
"But?" she interrupted.
"There's no buts, I really love you, and that's why I need to be completely honest with you."
"Please don't tell me you're married" she said.
"Okay I'm not married." he said trying to be cute. "There is somebody else though but I'm not cheating on her with you. Katherine and I have an open relationship, and that's what I want to talk to you about. I would like to introduce you to her and see if we could sort of, merge our relationships."
"There's another woman?" Amanda took another deep breath, trying to calm herself. She could barely get the words out of her mouth.
"Wait a second, we've only been dating for a couple of months, and never discussed being exclusive. You still have the dating app on your phone."
"I just assumed." Amanda stopped herself to regroup her thoughts. "Which makes an ass out of you and me." Nodding slightly and feeling a bit foolish.
"I love you. Will you at least meat Kat?"
"And if I don't want to be a throuple? Then what?"
"Then I'll still love you." Kyle said reassuringly. "But I'm also going to continue loving Kat, and you have to know, I have enough love for the both of you."
Amanda felt betrayed. She also felt guilty for feeling that way. Kyle had done nothing wrong, so she did what she always did. She began to think and then over think trying to make sense of the situation. If you can love two parents, and multiple children, why can't you love multiple partners?
"You are right. You didn't do anything wrong. Right now, I have a lot to process, so I'm just gonna go." She said while gathering up her stuff and trying to remain calm.
"I understand. Can I call you later?" Kyle's voice was soft and understanding.
"Sure."
"Can I at least send you a pic of Katherine, just to put a face to the name?"
"Why not?" Amanda asked as she walked away feeling vulnerable and uncertain of her future. Mr. Right turned out to be Mr. Polyamorous. Is that really so bad?
Amanda glanced at her phone and saw the pic of Katherine pop up on the screen. Kyle certainly has good taste; she thought to herself. Katherine, or Kat as Kyle liked to call her was hot. She had milk chocolate skin that looked smooth as silk, which made the pink bikini she was wearing pop. It didn't hurt that she filled out that bikini with beautifully round breasts and an ass that seemed to beg to be spanked. Kat straightened her hair and wore it in a playful ponytail. Her lips were full and so kissable. Her green eyes were mesmerizing.
Amanda knew from a very young age that she liked boys and girls, especially black girls. She never played with a girl though. She hadn't even kissed one before. It was the downside of growing up in a small town located in the bible belt. That's a big part of the reason she moved to New York. She never had the nerve to explore her bi side and was secretly worried she would never build up the nerve to pursue it. Maybe this might be her opportunity. The least she could do was to meet Katherine so she could make an educated decision.
Amanda waited for Kyle to call, not wanting to give the impression that she was interested in the whole poly thing. They spoke for a bit and Amanda told him she was skeptical but willing to meet Katherine on one condition. She wanted to meet with her alone, to talk woman to Woman. Amanda's heart raced as she hung up the phone, having agreed to meet at Kyle's and Katherine's home after dinner. It dawned on Amanda that she was never invited to Kyle's house while they dated. She kicked herself for missing that red flag and vowed to be a little less trusting in the future.
Amanda showered and prepped as if it was a first date, feeling both giddy and nervous. Tonight, could be the beginning of a bright new chapter in her life or a total nightmare. She also felt a bit competitive and made every attempt to look super-hot. Kat is gorgeous and Amanda was worried she would pale in comparison.
She arrived at 7pm sharp and rang the bell. Part of her wanted to run away but she stood her ground for better or for worse. Her heart pumped heavily in her chest, partially due to nerves, but she also felt inexplicably aroused.
Kyle and Katherine answered the door together, and Amanda couldn't help but think to herself how that bitch looked amazing. Kyle made the introduction and excused himself to allow the ladies the privacy they had negotiated. Amanda followed Katherine to the den where two glasses of red wine were waiting on the coffee table in front of a small couch. They sat silently for what seemed to be an eternity and sipped their wine until Katherine broke the silence.
"So, you're the amazing Amanda Kyle has been telling me so much about."
"And you must be Katherine, the one Kyle never mentioned."
"I understand you had been blindsided, and I can only imagine how you feel. I told Kyle to tell you the situation the very first week, but he thought it was too early. He's a smart guy but he's still a man and by nature, men are stupid."
They both toasted to the stupidity of men and then laughed. With the tension broken, they began to have a real conversation. The next three hours were spent talking about being polyamorist, about jealousy, and logistics. All the time avoiding the elephant in the room. Finally, Amanda couldn't dance around the topic any longer.
"I've never been with a woman!" she said, realizing how unnecessarily loud that was, so she said it again, almost in a whisper. "I've never been with a woman before,"
Kat leaned in and gently kissed Amanda. Amanda's heart raced and her hands trembled as she gently kissed Kathrine back. Amanda noticed she had stopped breathing, and let out a gasp.
