Stepping out into the hot muggy summers night she knew what she was doing was wrong. But she couldn't help herself. Like the drug addict, a fix is the only thing that will solve all her problems, she heads out.
Turning the key to start her car she wonders how she ever allowed herself to get this low. She's a successful woman, a woman with means and power in her community. Only her mother held more sway than her. Yet, here she was, on her way to spy on someone that she's fallen in love with.
Mary is in love, in love with a man she can't have. A man whom she's never had a conversation with other than to sign on as a tenant at one of her posh apartments in her downtown apartment high-rise.
At first glance, from her age and gorgeous looks, you'd never think of Mary as a very wealthy, very capable businesswoman. A businesswoman whose specialty in real-estate has made her a very powerful person in her community. But she's all that and then some. And that's putting it mildly.
From the day this man walked into her life she was awestruck. A massive man well over six feet tall and a body type that would make a bodybuilder blush. Gorgeously rugged looks, articulate, well-spoken, an educated man.
He was the one, she had to have him...
But as time went on and no matter how much she tried he completely ignored her. He was constantly going away for weeks at a time, a military man. Going away for weeks at a time because of his assignments.
She used her position with the community to find out that this man was special forces and very high up the food chain in the military. This only made her want him more. But what happened next devastated her.
She would find out that the main reason that he wasn't interested in her had nothing to do with the military. He was, is a gay man. When she found out and the way that she found out knocked the air out of her.
The reason that she found out was that she knows the young man that has taken him from her. She knows the little bastard that has stolen her man and she hates him. She hates him so much it hurts.
The young man confided in her because they've known each other for years. Still, as he told her the whole story of how they came together it crushed her. She listened to the sordid details of their first encounter and how they decided to move in together.
She hid her true feeling pretending to be an understanding friend. The young man explained in detail how he'd never ever considered being with a man. Now, he explained, he was in love.
That night Mary lost control and knew that this could not be true, this could not stand. There was no way...
Why? Why would he be interested in him? Why him? She had to know why. When he moved in with his lover it only made her more determined. So, she did something that even she couldn't believe.
She pitched a new apartment for him. Caught him on his way back from one of his trips. She convinced him that the extra room would fit him and his...new partner better, comfortably.
"I think you would like this floor plan better Thomas. It's roomier and it lets you and your roommate have more space."
After hearing her pitch, he agreed and would get back with her. After talking to his new love, they both agreed and moved into their new apartment.
What they didn't know was that Mary had the apartment wired. From her computer in her office, she could access a network of cameras and view everything that she needed to see.
She wasn't doing them a favor, she had to know, why?
