Caleb didn't come around or even text for a few days after our kinky sex. It bugged me, but at least he had admitted that seeing me wasn't making him gay. He was super gay long before we hooked up. He finally texted Friday asking to meet up on campus, which meant he wanted to talk without making out. Fuck.
We met that evening at the stone arch that marked the entrance to our college campus. I'd just got out of a late class, and the campus was cold and dark even with the street lights. Clouds obscured the full moon, parting occasionally to allow it to cast moon shadows on the snow.
"Hey," said Caleb, falling in stride beside me as I turned and walked in the direction of Gabby's. At least we could get a beer somewhere warm. He'd gotten over his hang up of pretending not to know me for fear that someone would wonder why he was hanging out with an openly gay guy.
"Hey! Want to come over Saturday?" By that I meant come over and fuck my brains out.
"I told my roommate I'd hang with him this weekend. Uhm, I'm hoping you can, like, give me some advice about him." Caleb's cheeks blushed, and he only gave me a brief glance before checking out the moon.
"Well, never met the guy so I'm not sure what I can tell you. You guys not getting along?"
"Oh no, no. We're good. It's just like he seems to flash me a lot, you know coming out of our shower naked drying his hair as if he didn't know that I'm in the room, stuff like that. So I'm starting to wonder, like, do you think he's gay?"
"Dude. You gotta be kidding me. How would I know? Do you go buff around him a lot too?"
"I can't. I'd get wood. Sorry, I mean you're hot and all, but so is he. That's why I first went on that gay hook up app. I wanted to see if he was there, and then I found you."
Wow. My in-the-closet gay lover was in love with his roommate. God this guy was fucked up. No wonder he fucked me so roughly. There was a lot of frustrated baggage.
"Why don't you just ask him?"
"Because I really like him, and I don't want him to move out if he busts me as super gay."
"Why would he move out? Unless you're bringing guys back to the room to fuck in front of him, what does it matter which way you swing?"
"I don't know. I just don't want to take the chance. I had the worst roommate last year, a total dick, so I'm really glad to have him. And yeah, I like seeing him naked, and he might stop that if he knows I'm gay."
"Whoa. Wait up here." I grabbed his elbow and stopped, turning him to face me so that he'd have to meet my eyes. "You're not being honest with him. If it turns you on to see him naked, he should know that." He trembled enough that I could feel it through his winter jacket. I didn't have to look down to know that his track pants bulged with an erection.
He nodded and hung his head, his cheeks an adorable shade of red. "I just hoped, like, that maybe he likes me that way and that's why he keeps flashing me. I told him when we met how super religious I am, so maybe he thinks that means I'm homophobic, cause so many people from my church are like that."
How to unpack all that? I let go of his elbow, and we continued down the sidewalk.
"I can see this going two ways." I admit to being jealous, but I did want to help. "If he's gay, maybe he's trolling you to see if you react. You never know, but you may have him scared that you'll move out if you find out he's gay. It seems like you guys really get along."
"Oh, do we ever. We game together, but we both study hard too, so we're such a good fit."
"The other possibility is he's just an exhibitionist and likes to show off his body to anyone. I assume he's hot?"
Caleb nodded. "Yup. superhot, and his piece, like, I've never seen him hard, but it's big even down, you know?"
Jealousy surged again, but I always knew we weren't a forever thing.
"I want to help. Really. But I don't have some magic gaydar. If you point him out, I can go to a few of the gay bops and see if he turns up, but without meeting him, I don't know what I can tell you. Hey, if you guys like gaming, why not bring him over to my apartment? You know I've got a pretty cool set up, better and louder than what you have in your dorm, I'll bet."
He nodded but he bit his lip. "But how do I explain how I know you? I can't tell him we met on a hook up app."
"We did go running at the gym a few times, side-by-side on the tread mills. Tell him about that. You don't have to lie and say how we met, just tell him the truth that we're running buds, and we got talking about gaming, and I invited you guys over for beer and loud fun on Saturday." The kind of loud fun I wanted to have with Caleb involved groaning and moaning with pleasure.
"And you'll be able to tell?"
"If he's gay? We don't have some secret club signal, so who knows, but I'm going to find a way to drop that I'm gay. If he flirts with me after that, then yeah, he's gay. But if he doesn't flirt with me, it doesn't mean he isn't gay, just that he might not be into me."
"What if he's not gay and he thinks it's weird that I hang out with you."
"Then he's a dick. What, you're not allowed to have gay friends? That's homophobic."
"No, I mean he's never said that. I just worry is all." He stopped are stared up at the moon with a huge sigh before meeting my eyes with his blue ones, the pupils wide because the light was so low. "I know I'm being a dick, asking you to help me out with another guy, with maybe even hooking up with another guy. It's not that I don't still want to make it with you." He looked down at my crotch, which was definitely bulging.
"I sure still want to make it with you," I said. "But I'm happy that you're finding yourself, and guys your own age and not more than half a decade older."
He looked around to see if anyone was nearby, but we were alone on this residential side street. He stepped forward and grabbed my bulge, forcing a shudder through my entire body. "You don't look thirty," he whispered. "Whatever happens with Liam, I want to take a turn in that pillory of yours. My fantasy is that both of you take me at the same time."
My hand sought under his jacket and sure enough I found a bulge in his tracks that I could rub up and down, making him shudder. "You are super gay."
"I know that now, I mean thanks to you I admit it now." He closed in for a kiss, but headlights swept us as a car turned onto the street, so we sprang apart. He was nowhere near ready to come out, and I didn't want to rush him.
"Tomorrow. My place. 7pm." I made it an order. "I'll have beer and chips. Don't worry, I'll be careful not to out you unless I'm sure he's gay."
"I trust you." Now Caleb did give me a hurried kiss on the lips before he rushed away back to his dorm and his roommate. He was definitely coming out of his protective shell. I couldn't wait for tomorrow night.
Saturday, I pondered how to get a guy to reveal his orientation. I'm out of the closet, but I don't wave my arms and announce to everyone I meet that I'm into guys. Sometimes I just try to work the name of my current boyfriend into the conversation, especially if some woman is flirting with me. I like to let them know early so they don't make a move and get embarrassed or humiliated when I have to tell them I'm gay.
Exhibitionism. He liked to let Caleb catch him naked coming out of the shower. It doesn't mean he's gay, but it does mean he's a show off, proud of his body. What we need is an excuse for him to strip down and show off. I came up with a plan.
When I opened the door, I fought not to let my jaw drop. Liam was gorgeous. No wonder Caleb was so into him. He stood a little shorter, but even with a puffy jacket on he was lean and proportional, you could just tell by his elfin face and green eyes.
"Tequila!" he shouted, holding up a bottle with a laugh. "I'm Liam." He held out his free hand for a fist bump.
"Jamie." I met the fist bump. "Really good to meet you! Come on in." It was a funny first meeting, especially since I had told Caleb I'd provide beer. Did Liam come up with this on his own? That would be interesting.
They shucked their winter jackets and hoodies, following me into the kitchen while I collected three beers from the fridge. I had the heat cranked for this event, and I'd pay for it. I wanted them in their tees and tracks, hot and ready for fun. Liam's brown hair was shorn short on the sides but had a long stylish wave on top.
"You rent this whole house?" he asked as he slice some limes on the cutting board on my kitchen counter.
"There's a couple that rents the unit upstairs, but they go up to their cabin up north every weekend, so we can be as loud as we want! I got this floor and the basement to myself."
"Awesome! Shots!" Liam pulled three shot glasses from his pack and filled them up. This guy was very self-sufficient. "To kicking your asses at everything!"
Wow! He was the opposite of dour and conflicted Caleb. Liam oozed energy and fun.
