Plotting a Course

Chapter 1: Moment of Truth (Part II)

I squeezed Bobby's smaller frame as tightly to me as I could. My heart broke when I saw his face after reading the rejection letter. Bobby was subdued the rest of the week, seemingly just going through the motions. I hated leaving him alone while I was at work, but I needed to save money, especially for what I was planning this weekend. Easter was early this year, coming at the end of March. Thankfully next week was the Spring Break and we would have a whole week off from school.
