Carol and I supervised the remodel of the house, I spent time with her as a volunteer for the charity she was with. Trevor and I would move back in our house this Saturday, the last few days of the final touches I was not allowed in the house, the designer wanted some of it to be a surprise.
Carol and Jim were with us of course, we walked in to a whole new home, it really was a home now, the furniture Trevor had picked out was perfect, the carpets to the paint colors were amazing. The kitchen just got a paint job and a deep clean, the dining room table was massive in size, and so perfect for the room.
We went upstairs and went thru each room, ours the last one, it was so beautiful, our clothes all put in place, the bedding Carol and I picked was perfect. I took Trevor's hand and led him down to his new office, I opened the door and let him in.
The walls were lined with book shelves, mostly books I wanted to read, his desk was him, large, solid oak, dark stain, with a huge chair that was just behind the desk. I picked the chair cause I knew I could straddle him in it. He took a seat and smiled.
"Billy it's perfect, you know my tastes that is for sure."
"Well your Mom helped me a lot with this so she deserves some of the credit."
Jim was impressed, it was similar to his office but some differences that were Trevor.
"Son this is awesome, now how about a scotch?"
I poured them a scotch and Carol and I went to the kitchen where the red wine was, I poured us each a glass and toasted to a job well done. She told me they wanted to put me on the committee for the fund raising, they loved my ideas and wanted me on board.
Trevor and Jim came in and he came and put his arm around my back. I told him about being on the committee, he smiled and said I was a perfect choice.
"Babe I talked to Dad and asked if we could use the jet to fly to England for a week."
I of course teared up.
