I thought high school was boring until I saw him leaning against his locker, chatting out with other girls. His tall lean figure was not like Ryan's shirt-ripping muscles, but he was more attractive than him. And the worst or best part of it was, every girl in our school knew it.
I was a nerd with curly blonde hair and a knee-length chequered skirt. Neither did I have button-popping boobs and nor do I wear a mini skirt like those surrounding him. I took pride in myself in the fact that no boy in our school had ever tried to make a move on me, and that kind of made me feel rebellious.
But that day when I closed my locker and was going straight towards our classroom, for the first time in my life, Alex Standall laid his eyes on me. My skin burnt under his gaze, I could imagine his arms wrapping around me and pulling me in his chest inside a dark classroom. But in reality, he just smirked at me.
Still, it was a smirk!
I shook my head and continued my way towards our classroom. My usual seat was in the middle of two hot girls. One was blonde and the other one had silky jet-black hair. They both had short skirts, exposing their thighs. I wasn't fat and wasn't skinny either, but I wish I had that kind of confidence to show my body like that.
My eyes shifted towards Alex Standall who just entered the class with a stack of books in his hands. His deep blue eyes scanned the whole room and darted on me. He winked, those blue eyes shone. My cheeks flushed.
The girls next to me looked at me in disgust. He is one of the hottest guys in school and never pays attention to girls like me. So, this is the question that was running in their minds, "what the fuck is going on?"

The bell rang and we got out of our classroom. I saw Alex walking towards the library and it was about to close. I ran up to him. My heart was beating fast and I felt a few drops of sweat bead on my forehead. I have never started a conversation with any guy before, but this time Alex gave me that courage.
I walked past the entryway and started to hover around the library. The hall was dark and no one was there except for us. Alex went to the romance novels section and I followed him. He was checking out the rows and tracing his fingers on the book covers. And the moment our eyes locked, my heart skipped a beat.
"Hey."- He said, pointing towards me.
"Hi."
"So..what are you doin' here?"
"Same as you."
"You like romance novels."
"Yep."
With each question, Alex was pacing closer towards me.
"So, who's your favorite author?"
"Um...Nicholas Spark. Who's yours?"
"E.L James."
I read Fifty Shades of Grey a year ago and I didn't think that it was Alex's favorite book.
