It was a school year at the University that I attended, followed by a long month and a long week. Taylor (22) was tired of working and school; all work and no play. Her friends kept going out on the weekends with their significant others, but it was never as fun for her because she was always the third wheel, or the fifth, or the seventh. Once again though, her and her friends were going out. They were at Taylor's apartment getting ready talking about their boyfriends when Samantha, Taylors closest friend, said, "Tonight Tay, my goal is on getting you a boyfriend... or at least a... romantic friend. Don't worry though, Damian is looking tonight too." Damian is her boyfriend.
"That's sweet Sam, but I don't really want to get my hopes up, so please don't bother."
"Oh don't be like that!" She said, "I will find somebody, and I won't leave the club until I do." I just smiled.
Amy, my other friend, chose my outfit and did my hair, she was pretty worried about my split ends but I was surprised with her artistic hands. Somehow she magically piled my hair on my head with a fantastic bumps and dark red lipstick on my lips. I walked downstairs in my tight little black lacy dress and black pumps that made me about 5"9 ish and Damian whistled at me. Andy said, "Damn Tay, if I wasn't with Amy I'd be on you in a heartbeat." His comment earned him an elbow to the side from Amy and a smirk. It made me feel prettier though.
When we arrived at the club I sat around at the bar with my head low, as always while Sam scoured for a suitable date for me. I was only sitting there for about an hour before a guy with dark hair and handsome scruff sat down next to me. I didn't look up until he spoke. "Hey," he said. I wasn't sure he was talking to me at first, but then I looked up and saw his light blue eyes piercing into my dark brown ones.
"Uh... hey," I stammered.
He smiled, "My name is Adam."
"I'm Taylor." I return his smile with my own cheesy grin.
"I don'y know how you normally look, but you look stunning." He says so dreamily.
"Umm.. ha, yeah. Oh... Thanks." I giggled nervously.
"Look, I'd like to get to know you, but I'd rather do it over coffee, or dinner."
I smile, "Yeah, that sounds good." At this point I see Damian and Sam behind him across the bar staring at us nodding at me and giving me thumbs up. I shook my head at them like, "stop it you guys!" and Adam must have seen me.
"Oh... did you change your mind?" He asked confused.
"What? Oh... no. I wasn't shaking my head at you." I replied.
