The setting of the story is a college town. The last few weeks it has been in the 80's and 90's, but not on this day. On this day it was a beautiful sunny day with a high of only 78 degrees. However, it was getting chilly at night and down to the high 50's. The atmosphere was kind of spooky wherever you went. The date was Saturday, October 30, 1993. There was a Halloween Dance at Cadence Commons that the Student Council was putting together that night.
In order to prepare for the evening's fun, Evelyn and Darren went out shopping trying to find the best costume that they could come up with. After fruitful searching at store to store around town, they finally found a pirate outfit that Darren could wear. They bought the costume and the accessories needed for them to complete the outfit. But there was nothing yet for Evelyn to wear and they were running out of time to get ready.
Evelyn said, "This is no big deal. I just need to go to the fabric store." Darren was a bit concerned because they didn't have time to actually make a pirate outfit and still make it to the dance.
But Evelyn was right. All she needed was a fabric store. She found some fabric with red and white stripes on it.
"See Darren... You should never doubt me" she said.
They headed back to Evelyn's apartment to get changed into their outfits if they had them and somehow make the bale of fabric into a pirate costume.
And off Evelyn went, to find the white shirt she knew she already had.
"Found It!" she shouted to Darren.
Then she ripped a piece of the striped fabric which she made into a bandana. She ironed the rest of the fabric and just started to wrap it around her waist. Her costume looked hot. Darren was a lucky man.
"Ummm... Are you forgetting to put underwear on" Darren asked
She just responded "Nope" as she gave up her crooked smile.
"OooK" as Darren finished getting his costume ready.
To complete Evelyn's outfit, she unbuttoned the top button and pulled down the shirt exposing her sexy shoulder and her neck. Darren just knew where he wanted to start kissing her, but she said there was no time and they needed to eat something before they got to the dance.
They got to the dance and found their friends as they were making sure the food was all out and drinks were plentiful. Darren has been friends with all these students since he went on the retreat in the fall of last year. Evelyn was still getting to know everyone since last month's retreat where she met Darren for the first time. God he looks hot in that cowboy hat, she thought to herself when they were introduced. They started dating shortly after getting back from the retreat, but that's another story.
As the music was pumping out Janet Darrenson, Meat Loaf, Ace of Base and the local band gone national Gin Blossoms, the couple started dancing around, (if you could call what Darren was doing, dancing). They were all having a great time. Eventually, time got the best of everyone and they had to have the final dance. Being who they were, of course they stayed around and helped clean up all the food, drinks, swept the floors, and reset the tables and chairs so that it looked like the cafe was ready for business come Monday morning.
Evelyn drove back to her apartment hoping that they would have some playtime before Darren went back to his house. Hopefully he will stay for breakfast.
They went directly to Evelyn's room. She put on her favorite CD at the moment, Sting's Ten Summoner's Tales, with songs like Fields of Gold and Seven Days. That really set the mood she was going for. Especially when she turned on the lamp giving the room a romantic shade of a soft red.
They started hugging and kissing as the music was softly playing in the background. Darren quickly unbuttoned Evelyn's shirt until her breasts were exposed. Darren is a sucker for breasts.
