Cloud looked up from where she was curled in the back of Skyâs The Limitâs stall. Sheâd heard the barn doors open, and she had little doubt that it was her husband. She looked back down, her hair falling over her face. Had she made a mistake in letting Brad stay? Montgomery was violent now. Heâd never hit her beforeâŠ
âCloud?â
Her voice was quiet when she responded. âWhatâŠ?â
âWhere are you?â
Cloud glanced at the horse next to her, knowing sheâd be safe as long as she was there. âIn Limitâs stallâŠâ
DeadShot made his way down the aisle of the barn; carefully eyeing Skyâs The Limit once he reached the stall. Cloud didnât move from her spot toward the back, so he carefully stepped in and gathered her to him, nudging the ice pack she held against her cheek aside to check her over.
âI know heâs your friend, but if he lays a hand on you againâŠâ
Cloud glanced up at him at his threat, wondering for a moment just how protective he was. He hugged her and Cloud burrowed against him, seeking out the comfort and protection that she knew his body would give. A small shiver ran through her body as he ran his hand down her back and she looked up at him.
âWill you be okay?â
There was a concerned look on her husbandâs face and she nodded slightly. He gently brushed his fingers over her cheek, causing her to flinch.
He took his hand away. âIâm sorry, Beautiful.â
Cloud shook her head. âJusâ soreâŠâ
DeadShot nodded and kissed her cheek.
She leaned against his chest, welcoming his gentleness. She looked up at him, pausing for a moment before she spoke. âMake love to me?â
He blinked, startled by her question. âA-are you sure?â
Cloud bit her lip, watching him as she gave a timid nod. DeadShot gently brushed his mouth over hers, giving her time to accept before he deepened the kiss. Cloud responded, her eyes closed.
âNot in hereâŠâ He murmured, breaking the kiss.
âI knowâŠWasnâ planning on itâŠâ
DeadShot stood and picked her up, cradling her in his arms. âWeâll leave the ice in the freezer. You shouldnât leave it on too long.â
Cloud answered with a small nod, her arms around his neck. He carried her inside the house, stopping in the kitchen to put the ice pack in the freezer before continuing to their room.
He watched her as he set her on the bed. âAre you sure?â
She looked up at him, focusing her eyes on his as she nodded. She returned the kiss he gave her, her hand finding itâs way through his hair, down his back, and inside his shirt.
His eyes slid closed for a moment. âYour hands are so warmâŠâ
Cloud blushed as he nuzzled her neck, carefully untucking her shirt in the process. He slid his fingers through her feathers, causing her to shiver.
She leaned against his hand, tentative. âW-will you not touch me thereâŠ? PleaseâŠ?â
He took his hand away. âWhere can I touch you?â
âAnywhere but thereâŠâ She motioned just past her waist, her body shaking again.
âHow-â DeadShot sighed and shook his head.
âJusââŠNoâ with your handsâŠPleaseâŠâ Cloud watched him nod. âAre you mad aâ meâŠ?â
âHow can I be mad at you?â
âI donâ knowâŠâ
âIâm not mad.â
Cloud nodded and hugged him tightly, relaxing slightly when he returned the hug before releasing her and removing their shoes. He kissed her again once he was done, his fingers wandering her body. A quiet noise escaped her throat and he slid her shirt off. His mouth kissed the gentle curves he revealed, causing Cloud to look at him, startled.
âAre you alright?â
Cloud nodded, dazed.
âSure?â
She nodded again. âJusâ surprisedâŠN-no oneâs done that bâforeâŠâ
DeadShot grinned. âI can do it again if you like.â
âCan I lay down firstâŠ? Gonna fall overâŠâ
âI wouldnât let youâŠâ He nodded. âGo ahead.â
Cloud slowly lay back on the bed, a bit awkward. The way her back arched under his mouth as he continued to kiss her breasts made a small grin form on his face. Her hands absently found their way through his hair.
âAre you absolutely sure about this?â
Cloud watched her husband for a moment before kissing him, responding when he deepened the kiss acquainting his tongue with the inside of her mouth. She shivered as his fingers carefully unbuttoned her jeans
