Adam sat at his desk looking over his emails. His new job was in the same as company as Louise's. He had been made redundant from his job a few months earlier and due to his sizable redundancy pay he could take a lower paying job with less responsibility in an IT support role. It had all fallen into place nicely. He started earlier in the day than Louise and was on hand for the small office to tend to their IT requirements. Fixing printers, wiring networks and building new IT requirements like laptops for their needs. He also did work for the other offices or people working at home. These only required delivering to the post office, which was around the corner, so it was perfect.
The office was on one floor, there was 6 desks in an open plan area for people who wanted to use the office as and when they wanted and 3 rooms which were offices for the management. One of those was occupied by Louise when she came in -- which was Monday to Thursday generally. Adam had to be in every day however which was fine as this was what he was used to.
It was Monday and the new printers had arrived. One for each of the separate offices and one for the open plan part of the office. They had been delivered over the weekend and Adam was checking there was nothing more pressing before tackling those. He tended to one or two easy emails which were for remote workers and then started on the printers. He unpacked them all and set them all out separately with their wires and installation packs. Taking the first one he headed to the open plan desks and put the printer on one of the desks. Removing the wires from the current printer he piled them on another desk. Going to the printer he removed it from the table it was on and onto the floor. He then installed the new printer, running the wires under the floor to the power and adding the network cable. Going back to his desk he did a quick test print to test it was working.
Adam continued with the other 3 printers. Starting with Louise's office as she wasn't there for another couple of hours. With it being Monday, he knew the other two offices were empty for the day. A couple of people had arrived as he was installing the printer in Louise's office. Carrying the older printer and wires out, back towards his desk he saw there was people in.
"Morning," Adam said as he walked past the desks.
"Morning Adam," Craig answered with a smile. Jenny was on a call, so she just gave a small wave as she was listening.
Adam placed the old printer next to the other he had removed earlier which were in an unused desk next to Adam's. He went to his desk and unlocked his computer. Logging into his work log he updated the two jobs for the printers that he had changed and completed the items. He checked his emails again and noticed a laptop request. Writing the request down briefly on his pad he ripped the paper off and headed to the storeroom. It was downstairs, accessed near the front door. He headed to the store room and let himself using the code for the lock and headed down the stairs.
In the room he headed for the cabinet and grabbed one of the barebones laptops and the RAM that he needed for the build. Setting the laptop down on the desk and placing the RAM next to it he sat down. Turning on the lamp first, he began to unscrew the bottom of the laptop before installing the RAM. After this he ensured that the software was installed and readied it for shipping. After packaging the laptop he headed back upstairs to his desk. After logging the job Adam was about to start on the other two printers as Louise walked in. She looked around to his desk and said, "hello."
"Hello," Adam replied as they smiled at each other.
"Morning," she said with a smile to Jenny and Craig.
Adam watched as Louise walked confidently up to her office. He black leather stiletto pointed heels faintly making a sound on the carpet as she walked. His eyes moved up her legs, admiring her black sheer tights that disappeared up behind her black leather pencil skirt. He briefly looked at her arse before she went into her office. Not many people knew they were married.
Adam went about the rest of the morning sorting the printers in the other two offices. He would see Louise through the blinds on her office window. She would wave at him when she saw him. Louise rarely came out of her office as she was in meetings most of the day or preparing presentations which were generally needed quite quickly.
Sitting at his desk Adam was checking his emails again and Jenny came over, "Hi Adam, sorry to bother you. I can't connect to this new printer."
"OK ill come and take a look," Adam said as he stood up.
He went over to Jenny's laptop to troubleshoot the issue. After a few minutes of checking the printer and Jenny's laptop he saif, "ah I think it's gone to the wrong printer."
Adam went to the empty offices and on the second attempt he came out with some paper in his hands. "Is it this?" Adam asked Jenny as he passed over the paper.
"Ah that's it, thank you," she replied.
"I think you had sent it to the wrong printer. This one is printer 2," he said as he pointed to the printer on the desk nearest them.
"Ah ok, sorry about that," Jenny said with a smile.
