I don't know if these still happen, but back in the 1960's when Tupperware was first introduced one of the ways they sold the products was to have parties. Housewives would gather together at a friend's home and a representative of the company would demonstrate to the ladies all the wonders that Tupperware containers and other products could do for your household and then take sales orders from the women.
in the 70's and 80's companies started having these parties to demonstrate "marital aids" i.e. sex toys and lingerie, etc. These parties quickly became known jokingly as "fuckerware" parties.
My girlfriend Lily and her friend Tammy decided to have one of these parties to make a little money. Apparently the hostess of these demonstrations made a small percentage of the sales made at their party as well as a discount on anything they chose to purchase. Usually these were ladies only gatherings, but Lily and Tammy got the idea that it would be fun to have men pour the wine and serve the snacks to the guests. instead of trying to hire male strippers or something similar, they realized they could save money if they talked me and Tammy's boyfriend Chris to do it. Ar first we both laughed off the idea but after days of them constantly wheedling and begging us, they wore us down and we reluctantly agreed but we did insist on getting a small piece of their profits.
Lily and Tammy said they expected about 20 women at the party. a few of them we knew, but there would also be colleagues from their jobs and a handful of ladies the company rep knew who lived in our area and had expressed interest in the products. The evening of the party about 15 ladies showed up.
When Tammy and Lily showed us what they expected us to wear we both said "No way!" and said we weren't going to do it.
The girls explained that if the women were a bit aroused looking at us they would buy more of the sexy products. We still balked at the idea of walking around in front of these women in the skimpy white nylon bikinis they wanted us to wear. They were practically transparent.
