Here I am exploring downtown Chicago at twenty years old in the winter. Just when I'm walking down Michigan Avenue, there stands this woman with long red hair untied. She wore black nylons, short dark grey skirt, black dress boots, and long-sleeved black shirt. She's standing there waiting to meet someone. She reminded me of a lead vocalist of a rock band Garbage named Shirley Manson. Just as I walk past her, she stares at me as if she was checking me out. I stop and look back and she was gone.
I said to myself,
"Maybe I'm seeing things".
But when I walked past Ohio Street, she was there looking at me again. I looked at her and she puts her right index finger in her mouth as if she was observing me. Her fingernails were painted bright red. I walked towards her and then a bus drove by. when the bus drove passed me, she was gone again.
I ran towards the water tower off Chicago Avenue just to clear my head there she was again. was she stalking me or was it a coincidence?
She was leaning on the wall relaxed. She turned her face towards me and winked at me. I ran down Chicago Avenue towards State Street to find shelter from her. I ran into Macy's and walked through the lobby calmly and panting.
I walked into the elevator and press the button that goes down to the Pedway. the elevator doors close and it starts to go down at normal speed. The elevator stops at the Pedway and then the doors open. Just as the doors slide open, there she was again standing in front of me as if she appeared like magic. She steps into the elevator and pushes me against the wall. The elevator doors close and she pushes the stop button. She puts her hand on my mouth and says,
"I have been waiting for a long time to do this."
She starts kissing me and I give in. After kissing me, she opens the elevator doors and pulls me to walk with her.
We both took a long walk to the Drake Hotel without speaking. when we walked into the lobby.
I asked her,
"Why were you following me?"
