Gwen laid naked on the cold stone table, an overhead light shining on her body that made her seem to glow pale beneath it. The heat of the lamp caused her skin to feel warm, as though she were sitting in front of a fire. Her face was also warm in spite of the lamp not shining on her head.
"Could you hurry this up?" She said. "I'm feeling a bit too exposed here."
"Now, now," The aged wizard said, "Do not rush these runes. They must be placed very precisely or the spell could misfire. You may find yourself missing arms or find that your neck has grown in length to thrice the usual size."
"Yeah, whatever," She grumbled, "Do I need to be completely naked for this?"
"Well, I do not know that for sure," The Wizard picked up a small device, somewhat like a pen. "But when I experimented on animals it sometimes fused them with their restraints. We cannot risk any interruption or impurities."
Gwen braced herself as he pressed the pen to her skin. The tip of the device was cold and it sent shivers along her entire body alongside a tickling sensation.
"Hold still, now." The Wizard drew a long, slow line along her side.
Gwen grimaced, not wanting to let her emotions show lest an unholy combination of rage and pleasure come out. She was skeptical when the Wizard first made his offer to her, promising the ability to keep her treasure organized. But as he explained the mechanics of his spell, she grew more and more interested until (after a few mugs of mead) Gwen finally agreed to be his first human test subject.
Of course, the skepticism came back when he asked her to strip naked, and it took a few minutes of promises that he was a perfect gentleman and that he took his craft seriously enough not to take advantage of her while she was lying down; That he should be trusted as though he were a healer removing clothing to treat a wound.
He even promised to get her a table without any shackles in the corners. Which wasn't really a comforting offer but one she took anyway.
Gwen eyed him suspiciously, making sure his eyes were on his markings and not staring at her exposed genitals. He took his small pen and ran it along more and more of her body, tickling her gently as it ran along her stomach, arms, and even along her thighs. But his eyes stayed down. Perhaps he really was an innocent professional.
But once this pen reached more sensitive areas, she had to focus her thoughts elsewhere to stop herself from letting out any involuntary noises or movements that might throw him off.
"Carry as much as you wish and never worry about losing things! Be immune to pickpockets! Have the exact weapon for every situation without having to sort through several!" Was printed on the flyer she responded to. When she thought about having the ability to carry more, she thought it might be a strength spell of some sort as she'd seen others imbue themselves with.
What the Wizard was actually working on was far more complex than that. It was what he called the 'Hammerspace Inventory'. In layman's terms, whenever she picked up an object, rather than placing it into a pocket the thing would instead be teleported elsewhere - into an empty dimension. Then, when she needed that object, she simply had to think about it and it would appear in her hands again.
She could pay shopkeepers by simply listening to the amount they told her. She could don her armor the instant an arrow flew her way. She could draw a sword simply by holding her sword hand out. And when the battle was done, she needed only to decide she no longer needed the sword and it would safely be teleported away.
The wizard said the runes were to link her to her personal dimension or something. She didn't really listen to the technical stuff, just that he had offered the service for free to anybody brave enough to test it out. And that if it worked, people would pay a fortune for it.
"Eep!" Gwen squeaked. The Wizard had just placed the last of the runes, a small spiral that ended just at the top of her slit, the pen gently tapping her clit and waking her up from the fantasy.
"Well, that should be the rune completed," The Wizard set down the device. "Once you test the spell, the markings should disappear and your powers should manifest."
"So... What?" Gwen sat up, covering her chest with both hands. There were blue lines covering most of her body that ran in flowing directions as though somebody were trying to draw the wind.
"Ah, I suppose you need something to test it with." The Wizard turned his back and walked to a shelf where Gwen's things were sitting.
"Here," He tossed her the shirt she was wearing earlier. "Try to hold this."
The garment went flying at the naked girl, but her reactions were good. A hand went up to catch it, though she never actually felt the cloth collide with her.
"What happened?" She looked at her empty hand, realizing perhaps that the Wizard's little trick had just made her stop covering her modesty and re-covering. But as she looked down at her body, she saw that it was bare and smooth once more. The runes had vanished.
"Marvelous!" The Wizard's face beamed with excitement. Possibly. He had small spectacles that obscured his eyes and a bushy beard that covered the rest of his features. "You seem to have 'stored' the object flawlessly. It appeared to disappear from the air in front of you."
"So, now what?" Gwen hunched over a bit, trying to keep herself covered.
