My wife and I have some friends who we do quite a lot with. Gary and I golf and fish together and our wives get along very well. We both own cottages on a lake about thirty minutes from town. When they're done with their story, we'll discuss this further," I suggested.
Gary opened a beer, tossed one to me and said, "alright."

"I know you, Senora. We worked on your place on the other side of the bay last month. It seems as though you don't have luck with doors." While he was talking, he was coming closer and looking us up and down.

"Sure, but we weren't getting service when we pulled in, so we can give you a ride to where we were getting service, if you'd like. You ladies look like you are getting cold. Let me see if we have any coats you can put on."
"We? How many are here with you?" I responded inquisitively.
"There's four of us. Me, Pablo, Rico and Juan. I picked up another worker for this job. I'll go check for coats or blankets. You stay here."
We stayed on the deck and waited. We had cooled down now and were very desperately looking for warmth, any warmth.
"Bad news. We don't have any coats, but we do have a couple of hoodies you can put on."

"Raul? Do you have any ideas as to how we could get in? We are freezing."

"Very well. I have the codes for the door and we have some "fluids" that we could pump into you to warm you up. If I get you in, then you let us warm you up with our "special fluids." Is it a deal?" suggested Raul.

Lori continued, "I knew that the codes weren't working on the door, so I wasn't sure how he was going to get us in. It was a calculated risk and I thought the odds were very much in our favor."
"While you are working on it, please let us sit in your truck so we can warm up a little."
"Very well, but that is a change in the terms. If you wish to sit in the truck, then I will need the hoodies back as it is cold outside now. I can't let my boys get too cold, you know."
Without hesitation, I pulled the hoodie off and jumped into his truck. Julie was right behind me.
Raul started speaking in Spanish to his crew. Obviously we had no idea what he was saying, but the other three men all came and jumped in the truck with us. They started the truck and turned the heater on. They were looking us up and down and speaking to each other in Spanish, laughing occasionally.
