"Yeah, I will."
"You shouldn't have thrown those clothes at the trash. You should have donated them." Said Trish.
"Heat of the moment. Felt big at the time. I should clean my wardrobe, though."
"I can come help you." Trish offered. "Saturday?"
"Saturday we are going to the beach." Marcos said.
"Sunday?" Trish asked.
"Sunday it is." Said Sophie.
"Cool, guys. I have to go now. I got... stuff. I'm really glad for you, Sophie" Jenna said and immediately turned off.
"Yeah, me too." Marcos followed.
"They are definitely playing another match." Said Trish.
Liza was picking a cup from a high shelf on her cupboard, showing her butt to the camera. She turned back and said "I'm really happy for you, Sophie. I have to go. I love you two."
"Love you!" Sophie said.
"Bye!" Trish added before Liza turned off.
"I can't believe it! You are amazing!" Trish said once it was only the two of them again.
"I'm not. Anyone could do it."
"But only you did it. Seriously, I'm really proud."
"Thanks. Can't wait for Sunday."
"Me too. And I think I'll finally be able to join you guys on Saturday."
"That's great!" Sophie had mixed feeling about it. For one, she loved her friend and was excited to have her join in. On the other end, the idea of seeing her naked gave her some feelings she had trouble understanding. Sophie always explained these feelings as the deep admiration she had for her friend.
"Do you wanna talk more?" Trish asked.
"Not really. I'm tired and need some rest. We'll talk tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow, then!"
The next two days weren't that eventful, apart from the fact Sophie never wore another stich of clothing again. They went to Giorno's the rest of the week, just to have a little taste of it. Sophie made sure to sit as exposed to the clients and the street as possible, to the manager's dismay.
Luke was a gentleman. Very respectful, barely talked about it or made any inuendo. Basically, how any guy should behave, but that was already asking a lot.
But whenever he would steal a quick glance at her body or make a comment about her nudity, she would blush way more than when anyone else did the same. Was she attracted to him? She was still parsing those feelings.
Friday night came and Sophie had to run some errands for the beach day on Saturday. Simple stuff, mostly food, drinks and sunscreen, the last of which she has been going through like crazy. Her skin was too pale and she didn't want to risk a sunburn as she got a tan. It was still early evening and she walked to a nearby supermarket where she did most of her last time groceries shopping.
The supermarket had its usual early night attendants. People walked by on all kinds of clothes. The ones coming back from work wore their suits and formal wear. Men coming from the gym wore their breathable shirts and shorts while women wore large sport bras and legging shorts. Stay at home moms wore yoga pants and cardigans. Fast food workers wore their uniforms. Sophie never noticed how much she could know from people just by looking at their clothes. It tags people, categorizes, tell everyone what they are and what they do. Herself, walking the aisles naked, filling her grocery basket, felt like a mystery.
The store's light left nothing to the mystery, though. Bright white omnipresent lights invaded every inch of her skin. She stood out, a naked form among the colorful grocery items. All the people around her, all the gazes and double takes, the shameless stares and shameful averted eyes. It was something she was still learning to deal with. She never really enjoyed being the center of attention, but now she had to deal with it while also getting used to exposing her entire body to anyone who cares to take a look. Sometimes, it made her want to hide and run. Other times, which were becoming more common, it made her feel something else. Prideful, perhaps, but something else. Something more... carnal.
As she walked through the snacks looking for something to take the next day, she noticed her mom coming on the opposite direction. She was chatting with one of her friends, a woman Sophie new as Alexandra, mother of a boy she barely remembered from her school days. When they saw Sophie, they stopped on their tracks, faces like they just saw a ghost.
"Sophie!" Alexandra greeted. She looked extremely uncomfortable, trying very little to fake normalcy. "Good to see you!" She diverted her face to Sophie's mom.
"Elaine, it was wonderful catching up!" She was clearly trying to run as fast as possible from the situation. She turned around very awkwardly and walked a quick, rigid pace.
"Hi, mom." Sophie did her best to sound as natural as possible, as if Alexandra hadn't just made a big scene.
"Sophie..." Her voice was failing, almost trembling. It was quiet, wrong, sad. "Why do you do this to me?"
Tears started to come out of her face. She didn't seem angry at all, just sad. Lost.
"What did I do?" Sophie felt like a little kid, watching her mom cry and feeling powerless to do anything.
"I barely sleep." She was breaking more and more as she went on. People around them tried to act as nothing was happening and walked away. "I keep thinking of all those people looking at you! Why? Why would you do this?"
She already felt exposed as is, but now she felt fragile. Like she had a spotlight on her and anyone could come and break her. She couldn't hold the urge to cry.
"Mom, I'm not doing anything wrong!" The words faulted as they came out.
"I can't deal with it! I can't!" Elaine started full on crying. "Why can't you see how it hurst me? My own daughter showing her body around like a whore!"
That word hit her in the face. Sophie felt ridiculous. What the hell was she doing? Why the heel did she think this was a good idea? Here she was, naked, in the middle of dozens of people. She had paraded around, showing her body to hundreds of people for the past three days. She felt like puking. It was like suddenly realizing none of this was normal. None of this was ok. It made no sense, walking around completely nude. For what? Self-esteem? That was ridiculous.
She needed to hide herself. Cover herself. She started walking as fast as she could to the exit. She covered her breasts with her left arm as she held the grocery basket in front of her crotch. She darted out and embraced the little cover the night could give her. She didn't stop, she immediately made her way to her house. The people walking by couldn't not watch. They could clearly see something was wrong.
Of course something was wrong. Sophie was completely nude on the street! People could see her entire body as she desperately ran to the safety of her home. She cried all the way. She angled her head forward so her hair could provide some coverage to her face.
It was no use. People have been seeing her nude body for days now. She has been stupidly showing it around. Her friends, her family, her coworkers. She really felt like a huge whore.
Her legs trembled as she took the last steps to her door. She could barely hold her keys straight as she unlocked it. Once in, she fell to the ground and did the only thing she could think of. She cried.
