And there I was...off on yet another routine flight. I had just run over to board the plane, as I had a connecting flight and just barely had time to make it onto the final leg of my trip before they shut the cabin.
As I hustled onto the plane, I was exhausted and just in a rush to be seated already. I knew for sure that I was going to close my eyes and enjoy a few uninterrupted hours of sleep. Once I finally made it to my seat, I realized that I was in the window seat, and I had to pass a younger guy in the aisle seat and a middle-aged woman wearing bright scrubs, who appeared to be with the guy. As I made eye contact with the mother and son, I gestured to the window seat and asked if I could slide by. The lady offered me a generous yet routine smile and allowed me to walk by quickly.
Now, for context, I'm a younger guy, relatively slender and about 6'4. When I travel, comfort is my main focus, as I usually like to try to rest if my flight is longer than a couple of hours. This particular day, I had on a pretty normal out, a sweater, a baseball cap, and some athletic black track pants. Oh, and one other thing to mention, if I wear sweatpants when I'm traveling, sometimes I will go commando, as I find it to be a much more comfortable experience.
So, back to the flight. For maybe the first hour, everything is going smoothly. My neighbors are paying attention to the movies that they're watching and I'm listening to some tunes to let the time pass. The cabin is relatively dark, as I elect to keep the window cover down out of respect for the people around me. After a while, my phone dies and I've realized that I'm not falling asleep anytime soon, so I'm screwed...or at least I thought.
Not even 15 minutes later, the pilot announces on the loud speaker, "now folks, for those of you on the left side of the aircraft, you may want to look out your windows, as we're going to have a pretty awesome view here" and so, with me being in a window seat on the left side of the plane, I ever-so-slightly tug at the bottom of my window cover. Before I continue, I look back over at my neighbors to see if they're OK with me letting in some light, and when I look over my shoulder, the mother is looking in my direction and giving me the go-ahead, since she's also heard our pilot's announcement and wants to see the view....
With that, I turn back, pull the window cover up about 1/2 or 3/4 of the way, and look out at the bright blue sky, the soft clouds, and the scenery in the distance. I was almost too distracted that I forgot my head was blocking the view, and as I sat back, I made sure that my neighbor could catch a glimpse as well. It was at that moment, that I noticed....as the mom next to me began to look past me and through the window, I realized that I had an ever so slight bulge on the left side of my pants.
Now, by no means was I fully erect, but because I had on relatively tight fitting track pants, it was clear that something was protruding. In an attempt to be as respectful and as calm as possible, I leaned back and tried to not draw any further attention to myself. As the lady leaned back into her seat, she seemed unbothered, as she regained focus on whatever she'd been watching...until the very last second, when I notice her eyes glance back over, but this time, not at the window.
