RECAP:
"Stop looking."
"Renee?"
She glanced over her shoulder with a smile, her symmetrical beauty made up professionally. Her normally pinned up hair was down in flowing raven tresses now intermingled with light brown highlights. It was a jarring change along with the nature of the makeup which consisted of a light base cat like smoky eyeshadow and black lipstick covering her full lips. I didn't know what to make of it as she turned facing me holding a small, thin designer purse.
Her hourglass figure was covered in a similarly glossy black Chinese mini dress with a vine and rose imprint inset. It had a high collar typical of the culture. It looked like she was smiling but I realized it was just the way her makeup was applied as her gaze made me feel small. I felt like a stranger to her in my cousin's living room.
"Oh hey cuz; we're stepping out for a concert at the pavilion; Renee loves Raheem DeVaughn, so she got a sitter."
My cousin appeared in an immaculate black suit with a glossy crimson shirt that matched Renee's dress. There was no doubt she probably bought his ensemble. Renee slightly tilted her head getting a peck on the cheek while glaring at my face. I felt a wave of emotion wash over me that I barely managed to hold at bay as Jaquan took her hand.
"Don't wait up." Renee said with an ice cold tone that made me queasy.
That queasy feeling settled in my gut as I watched the couple walk down the short flight of steps leaving me alone for a night on the town. After the heavy screen slammed shut, emotion welled up inside me nearly making me nauseous. I was instantly distraught thinking Renee Kelly completely done with me at this point.
I regretted playing that stupid prank on her best friend with every fiber of my being. I planted my camera bag on the dining room table already going through the five stages of grief. It hurt like hell that she was going back to Jaquan after all of the bullshit he'd pulled. I hunched over burying my face in my hands.
"Hey."
"Huh, what?" I looked up from my cupped hands.
Renee Kelly was standing there at the edge of the dining room with her purse.
It was still jarring seeing her in this fashion, almost frightening. I felt embarrassed, humiliated that she might've been there watching me fret like a petulant child. There was a stinging sensation at the corner of my eyes, unformed tears ready to go.
The lighting was low where she was standing which made her makeup stand out even more. She looked almost alien with the sharp angled eye shadow and equally dark lipstick on a milky pallor. She was staring at my face silent before closing the distance between us. Renee stood over me emotionless reaching down cupping my chin.
Her tongue slid into my mouth twirling sensually about as she gave me a soulful kiss for a few seconds.
It was over before it began as she turned on her heel walking back out of the house without saying another word. The heavy screen door slammed shut a second time followed by the sound of my cousin's car speeding off. My heart was thumping so hard, it felt like would burst from my chest. I was so hard, it hurt. I got my phone out calling in an unpayable debt.
"Yoli can you come over?"

It was majestic.
It was stupendous.
Incredible.
There was no escaping it because it was right there in your face rising up like some inescapable monolithic juggernaut.
An immovable object, twin mountains swathed in garish magenta, covered with tufts of light fur which made it stand out surround on both sides by deep pools of darkness. The loud oppressive musical tones of GENOCIDE PART 4 by Lil Darkie filled my headphones as a Seuss inspired enigma filled the screen in letterbox aspect. It was weird, intentionally left for further examination.
Then, it moved.
This mountainous magenta colored thing moved in an instant; a thing alive. It looked like something created by Jim Henson by way of Tim Burton flopping over as if bowing to the viewing audience.
The music abruptly cut off mid-lyric.
WTF?!!
It changed.
The garish, fur covered heart was now a reddish olive colored thing of fleshy material. This single object now revealed in its component parts. Two massive ovals of concave smooth material, dual gigantic egg shapes merged with the stem revealed as two, thick shapely legs.
It only lasted five seconds.
It moved again.
